something that i absolutely adore about olivine is that he actually likes his priesthood. he is passionate about his religion, he got an unwavering faith towards the god of klein, he loves helping people, he loves delivering sermons, he loves spreading words about his religion.
even though he felt trapped in the temple, even though his parents never gave him any other choice, even though he wished he could be freed from it all. olivine does love whatever he is doing, he loves coming back to the temple, he loves his other clergymen, his people, the children.
olivine is just so, so full of love. i love him so much.
#yes exactly#the way I see his story and character development is that a lot of his unhappiness came from his lack of freedom#obviously a lot of it in the sense that not having agency affects everyone. but also because he wasn't sure if his spirituality/#religiousness/devotion was actually his own and not just an obligation#but now that he has the freedom of choice he can be sure that it's his own decision and find fulfillment in his priesthood#because every time he gets confronted with his duties and doubts in an event he comes out more confident in what he loves about his religion
