As @staff further refine the polls while they're rolling them out (still haven't gotten mine sadly), here's a suggestion of mine: Polls with a ten year time limit.

As of right now, it's impossible for polls to turn into long-running legendary posts. You can try, sure (see the bug race), but it's a week and then it's locked, fixed, done, and all that's left is for people to reminisce about that time there was a poll.

On the other hand, if a ten year poll gets popular, it can become part of Tumblr lore while still being updated. People can write passionate appeals for their vote and fight in the notes. Others can make graphs to show how the poll's majorities shift with each different US president or Taylor Swift album. People can make memes about "remember 2025, when option 3 was in the lead? That was a crazy time".

Why ten years, though, instead of a hundred or just no time limit? Because that way, the end becomes an event. People who voted in the poll when it was just a few hours old can watch the final countdown together, and there's a new point in Tumblr history: That day when we finally all agreed on the best option, and presumably also some important political stuff happened.

Now, granted, most ten year polls would never reach this level of notoriety. But it only takes a few polls like this to be worthwhile. Maybe this shouldn't be an option for users to select, but something the Tumblr website grants/pushes on you at random?

So, yeah. Ten year polls. They should be a thing.

We had a bracket for fictional actors, but what is an actor without something to act in?

The submissions will end in a week.

Rules:

You can submit as many media as you want, but don't submit the same media twice

Submitted media have to be fully fictional, you can't submit existing media, even if they also exist in a fictional universe

While they can't exist in real life, media inspired/referencing/parodying real world media are allowed, but they have to differ enough to count as their own thing.

Media portraying actual in-universe events are allowed, if they differ from the story they come from.

Don't submit fanart if there are official images available (if you have a piece of fanart fitting with the bracket, that you want people to see, you can DM/tag me and I will reblog it)

she's old she's catty and sarcastic she casually uses yokai as bait or blackmail material she picks fights with teenagers on behalf of her teen/twenty-something exorcist boss. she often wears suits in a series where other women are always in skirts or kimono and yokai disguise themselves as beautiful women to try to get her favor; she ignores them bc its her worldview that you shouldnt let yourself be soft enough to be fooled by anything. she is sick as hell <3

She's so much fun. Evil hag who eats children and she has such a memorable character.

Genkai

The OG badass granny. She trains Yusuke, joins his team in the Dark Tournament, and kicks all kinds of ass. She's surly and mean and rude and she's also a gamer. She can purify corrupted souls, reverse the energy of attacks, or lay down a solid gold asswhooping. She is the tough grandma mentor that Yusuke needed to set him straight.

Listen, I know Genkai is most likely responsible for the multitude of young-looking old ladies in anime because of her younger state when she uses her full power, but it's unfair to say that Genkai herself is bad because of it. Like 90% of her screentime is her as an old lady, her young form is treated like a transformation.

She's an old lady who beats you up and cusses you out what more could you want

(mods input...yall..she is my icon): THE HAG!! apart from everything mentioned above, her whole character is basically the antithesis to youth and peak physical apperance as an ideal to strive to. i dont want to spoil the whole dark tournament arc here but her relation to one of the main antagonists is soooo --- ugh. society if shonen authors had copied the points togashi was making here (TOGASHI INCLUDED BITCH WTF IS BISKY HXH)
