GERBITS TOWNIE OVERHAUL: A SAVE FILE
*waves*
This thing was due for a major update- and I've finally mustered up the inspiration to get it done 💪
What is this? This is a save file where all (yes, ALL) of the EA townies have been given makeovers- hair, faces, clothing...no eyeball rings here, folks. And the best part? They are all CC-FREE!
You won't find any updated builds or anything, because I'm not a builder. What you will find on top of makeovers, however, is that this save file is also mostly lore-friendly.
Neat! So, what changes have been made? Sims have been removed and/or added (goodbye Katrina Caliente, hello Kaylynn Langerak!), relationships have been fixed (depending on your definition of 'fixed', heh), and concept sims are now a part of the game! (ever wonder what happened to those awesome sages of magic? wonder no more!)
For an overview of the big changes, check out this doc!
Okay, but what if I only want a couple of these households? Fret not, because they are available on the gallery! And before you ask, no, I won't be uploading tray files. You can find them by searching for my username in the gallery (unsurprisingly, it is gerbits), and you will need to have "includes CC" ticked! While they are, indeed, CC-free, I made them with my defaults installed and apparently that isn't good enough for EA.
I changed my mind, I want the whole save! How do I install it? Place the file in your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves folder. Easy peasy!
If you have read through all of that rambling, I commend you, and I present one (1) download link (OKAY it's two but it's the same thing so, really, you could consider it one):

Wonderful @lordcrumps and me were super busy making nice placemats and a mod to change their states when sims eat or don't eat.
The mod also works with a couple of other known placemats and can hide/unhide centerpieces, too (like deco food on pic 1).
If anyone wants to be a test subject for these, message me :D

The last one for tonight (probably) is Neighborhood 1, named Old Town in game. Again, this was a quick and dirty build, so while all the playable area is finished, painted, and decorated, anything outside of the camera view from the original neighborhood screen is just meant to be backdrop so it’s not decorated or routable.
Medium sized map, 57 lots.

[TS3] Random Sim Fixes

Overview
Here's a small fix/improvement mod I've had for my own personal use for a bit - mainly it attempts to fix issues with and improve randomly generated and aging up Sims (Such as pudding face) in a non-intrusive, non-core way.
Download
Patreon / SFS
Features
Generated Sims will no longer be pudding faced.
Sims won't age up into or generate with future clothing on non-future worlds anymore.
Male Sims now have chances to have facial hair, both on age up and generation.
Generated Sims will now actually have random voices and voice pitches, rather than all being 50% pitch Voice 1. Sims will also re-roll voice types on age up as more voice types become available to them.
Fitness, weight and breast size are now randomized as well, including muscle definition. Muscle definition depends on fitness and weight, with some variation.
Installation
Just drop the package into your Documents/Sims 3/Mods/Packages folder.
You can modify the tuning with S3PE - inside of the package you can find a commented XML with all of the tuning values.
Compatibility
Won't take effect if you already have a core mod that fixes pudding faces - disable this feature in the core mod if possible to have this work.
Special thanks to Simler90, as I've found about some of these issues thanks to his GameplaySystems core mod.

Mod: Return of The Veg Out Interaction
I want to thank @freezerbunny-sims for mentionning that this was a thing in the Base Game. Thank you!
This mod re-enables the Veg Out and some other sofas/loveseats interactions. Even works with CC ones. It’s similar to Squinge’s Veg Out enabled mod, but mine doesn’t remove the personality restriction and also have fixed sub-interactions related to this.
To be able to Veg Out, Sims must be extremely lazy (no more than 1 Active point or 2 if you have @dreadpirate’s Personality Please! mod).
While vegging, Sims can :
Find a snack. It’s a sub-interaction available when clicking on the couch. This will make the selected Sim pull out a bag of cookies and eat. Hunger will slowly go up. Normally, you need a fridge for this interaction to appear, but I removed that restriction since it didn’t work properly.
Nod off. It’s basically the same as the Nap interaction, just with different animations.
Sims won’t autonomously do these interactions since Maxis set them like that and making these autonomous will be a pain to do and won’t be compatible with CC sofas/loveseats.
Knows Issues: These interactions were a mess to edit since they were broken in many places. I did the best I can do, but there are two problems remaining:
Sims’ social motive will go up while vegging out if other Sims are sitting in the same room. I suppose it’s because sitting Sims are supposed to talk together, but the Veg Out interaction doesn’t allow Sims to have a conversation.
In the French version of the game, Maxis made a translation error that I can’t fix for some reason. L'interaction “Find a Snack” devient “Chercher une cacahuète”, ce qui ne fait pas vraiment de sens.

okay so i have some terrible news! 🙃
i was literally just sitting at my computer, replying to asks here on tumblr and working on the mesh replacement for the grapevine when my monitor starting buzzing and fading. it’s gotten worse over the past half hour to the point where it’s fading to black every few seconds, like you can see in the video
i’ve tried changing the hdmi port, resetting to factory settings, dimming the brightness, updating drivers but to no avail. according to google it might be a broken “inverter” whatever the hell that is?? so i’m thinking i’m gonna have to get a new monitor :((
i’m wondering if anyone would be interested in small cc commissions to help me afford a new one? i could make you some deco objects or simlish signs, things like that.
this has kind of come out of the blue, and the sims is all that’s really making me happy atm, so i really want to get back to it as soon as i can! i understand money is tight for everyone, so don’t worry if you can’t help, i’ll manage something 💜
HERE is my ko-fi link if you want to donate, or send me a message if you’d like to commission something! 💜💜 i’ll be back to those default plants asap, i promise

GOOD NEWS!!
Have you ever imagined how amazing Sunset valley and any other worlds that use basic textures from the base game would look like if they had a coherent visual identity? I mean… I always thought that the only thing missing for The Sims 3 was a more uniform reinterpretation, where textures and color talk to each other, creating harmony to achieve amazing visuals! (Something like this:)
Check it, and much more and do Download NOW: HERE

I’m (kinda) back! I’ll probably just be uploading the occasional tidbit from my old projects that I’m currently sorting through and will get back to gameplay stuff in a little while. So here’s the first thing that was ready to post!
I like log walls but I never liked that I didn’t have an edge to make it look like the logs were feasibly being fitted on top of one another. Here are three new log wall textures and a column that can be placed at building corners to give the appearance of a more realistic log wall construction. Use MOO to stack the column or make it fit in places it doesn’t want to go, like underneath sharp roofs.
The walls can be found under Build>Wall Coverings>Siding, are two panels apiece and cost §5 and the column can also be found under Build>Miscellaneous>Columns for §5.
The column is an original mesh so please respect my ToU if cloning or converting, recolors are always welcome!
