I’m no expert, but normally cravings don’t have to be exact, you can just eat something with the same nutrients as peas. Do you like any other greens? And congratulations, by the way.

"You know I was joking, right?"

Liv’s mouth gaped open, ready to respond to the snarky comment, but instead she closed it and shrugged. “It’s the quality of the brands, really.” She chuckled drily at his comment. “I was just about to head there and spend another ten minutes considering the colours of the labels.”

"And let me guess, you're saying this from the depths of your music-writing soul?" Liv quipped, her hands coming to rest on her hips. "Yes, it's written all over my face, can't you tell?"

Liv would usually hold back a glare, but she didn’t stop it today. “The scenery brings back memories.” She sighed, shaking her head. “I was just commenting that- you know, whatever. Doesn’t matter, then, I suppose. Good for you, getting back into music and all.”

"If you were racing off today, don't think I wouldn't notice. I would come and find you! Or at least, I'd send one of the boys off after you. I trust you too, Math, with my life. You're like a brother to me, you know that, right? But how've you been? I'm boring, really."

“No, it’s okay, I get it. I still see you around all the time anyway, so even if you hated spending all the time with me in the library, we can still hang out! You- you look up to me? Math… that means a lot to me, really. Oh, everything’s great! Definitely a good chaotic- it will just take time to get used to the, uh, changes that are happening around, you know?”

"No, that's not what I meant... I think that would be a bit weirder than what's happening with me. It's actually because, um... I'm pregnant."

“The vegetables didn’t do anything, Math, it’s, uh… cravings.”

Liv raised her eyebrows at Asher joking. "I don't think we need to hide them - I don't think Jason is going to have a weird obsession with peas... wait, what if he has a weird obsession with peas?!" She shrugged nonchalantly, taking his hand and motioning for them to keep moving through the supermarket. "I guess that's all they've known. It does suck that they didn't get this... connection, because I tell you, they're missing out." Her heart swelled at Asher's words, and the grin that appeared on her face most likely matched the emotion in her chest. "You've turned into a sap like me, baby." 

Liv turned in the comfort of Asher’s arms, dropping her shopping basket softly to the floor at their feet to rub her hands on her partner’s neck. His grin kept her mind at ease from the stress of the past few weeks where she’d been ill. In that time, Asher had been everything she could ever dream of, from helping around the apartment with Jason to holding back her hair when she’d been bent over the toilet. “I don’t want to, but I think we might have to.” A light smile stayed on her face, remembering times when she’d spoken with her mother when a younger Liv had been curious about how a family worked. She didn’t feel Asher’s arms tightening ever so slightly around her with tension. “She said that it was a burden, and that you just did it to continue on the family name. I suppose she didn’t have the whole love aspect in her life, because this is… incredible.”

"No, it's okay, I'm fine!" Liv smiled, shaking her head a few times. "It's just the hormones. Don't worry about it." She laughed quietly. "But I'm still confused as to why you've got my bear right now."

Liv blushed and blinked a few times to stop any emotions overwhelming her. “Thanks, Ash. I love you.”

Asher couldn’t help but smile, feeling the warmth in his heart as the pair talked about what would soon become their future. Their child. Asher still couldn’t accurately describe how everything made him feel - he was confused, to say the least. But in these simple, calm moments, Asher felt contented with the world. “That is true, peas are better than morning sickness. So what, are we going to buy some then? I mean, if our child wants it…” Asher couldn’t help but stiffen at the mention of Liv’s mother, because it only made him think of the rest of Liv’s family. And the fact that they didn’t all know yet… and they probably weren’t going to be impressed. “What did your mom say to you then?”

“I’m fine, really. I’m just warning you in case you scare a poor woman to death in future.” Liv laughed, touching her brother’s arm softly. “I’m still your baby sister, I’m just... not so much a baby myself as I am having one.”

“Oh, sorry! Are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” Arthur said, though not being overbearingly worried for once, a sign of his slow but sure development over the past few months.

“Wow, I still can’t believe it. It’s hard not seeing you as my baby sister.”

“See? Look at what you’re doing right now, Liv. Being nothing but yourself, your kind, selfless self. That is one of the many reason why I love you, and proof that a small joke isn’t doing to change that.”
