These are the Seven Promises that God grants to those who honor The Blessed Virgin Mother daily by saying seven Hail Mary’s while contemplating her tears and sorrows during her life. This devotion was passed on to us by St. Bridget.

“I will grant Peace to their families.”

“They will be enlightened about the Divine Mysteries.”

“I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work.”

“I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.”

“I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.”

“I will visibly help them at the moment of their death, they will see the face of  their mother.”

“I  have obtained (This Grace) from my Divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy.”

G NA US THIS YEAR OF THE YOUTH!

Opisyal nang nagbukas ang CBCP Year of the Youth 2019 na may temang Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted, Empowered noong nakaraang ika-1 ng Disyembre sa Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, Quezon City. Ito ay sa pangunguna ng Ministry for Youth Affairs ng The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao.

Ang paglulunsad ng taong ito ay isang proof how the church value us, as in super valued. Goal din nito na mas umigting ang paghubog sa kabataan na maging misyonero sa pagpapalaganap ng salita ng Diyos as part of the NEW EVANGELIZATION, pagpapatibay ng pamilya at pag-anyaya sa aktibong pakikiisa sa mga gawain ng komunidad at simbahan.

Marahil habang binabasa mo ito napatanong ka ng ANO NGAYON?

Oh well, taon natin ito, “grab the opportunity” ika nga sa panahong inilaan para sa atin ng simbahan. Noon pa man ay sure na sure na ang mainit na suporta ng parokya through the Parish Pastoral Council, higit lalo ngayon sa mga magiging gawain ng Parish Youth Ministry –kasama na riyan ang Senakulo sa Abril, Sports Fest at Santacruzan sa Mayo, Camp Carmel sa Hunyo, at iba pang mga programang para sa ating mga kabataan.

G ka na ba? Kasi kami, G na G na! Kaya inaayayahan ka namin na maging kabahagi sa misyon ng mga kabataang maging lingkod ng iba pang kabataan at ng ating kapwa. Huwag nang mag-atubili pang makiisa.

Sabi nga sa kantang JAM ni Cookie Chua at Kevin Roy, “Kilos kabataan, oras natin ‘to! Makiaalam, maki-Jam at makihalok!” Tayo ang pag-asa ng ating simbahan kaya arat na at sumama ngayong Year of the Youth!

WYD 2016 Krakow to Cubao

Amidst the heartwarming message of Pope Francis to the Youth that was seen at the local celebration of #WorldYouthDay2016Krakow held last July 31, 2016 at the Lourdes School of Quezon City, hosted by the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes. One of the “sought-after” performances at the event was done by talented youth from different Vicariates that transcends how worthy the Lord to be worshiped through singing and dancing, and to be commemorated by reenacting His suffering along His way to the Mt. Calvary. 

These young performers led by Mr. Randy Rubio from Vicariate of Sto. Niño, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish who was tapped to be the director of the event, the animators, Production Staff and down the Artists didn’t fail to evangelize and lift up the hunger spirits of the delegates.

From the animators who undeniably gave their outstanding performances through dancing, and the powerhouse casts of the live Stations of the Cross from OLMC PYM led by Mary Montes (Mother Mary), Ivan del Fierro (John), Evita Roquero (Magdalene) and Mr. Lek Armirola (Jesus Christ), despite of having such circumstances like short period of time for preparation, changes in location of the event, number of attendees and schedules of the artist, the diocese of cubao team still managed to execute a successful huge event that focuses how young people of this generation are very important in spreading the real essence of Catholicism through the word of the Lord. 

To God be all the Glory, Mabuhay ang Kabataang Katoliko!

Fr. Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires, the capital and largest city of Argentina,on December 17, 1936. He was baptized by Fr. Enrique Pozzoli, an Italian Salesian priest who was close to the family. Today, Pope Francis often speaks of the importance of Baptism and urges the faithful to remember the date on which they became a Christian.

His father,Mario Jose Francisco Bergoglio, was an Italian immigrant. One of his grandfather’s brothers had started a flooring enterprise in Parana, Argentina that was doing well and the four Bergoglio brothers were putting up a family business.

“They disembarqued from the ‘Julius Caesar’, though they should have sailed on an earlier voyage: with the ‘Princess Malfada’, which sank.” Fr. Jorge wrote. “You cannot imagine how many times I have thanked divine Providence!”

Having worked as an accountant in the Bank of Italy in Turin, Papa Mario, though an only child, had enjoyed being part of Don Bosco’s  “Salesian Family ” in Italy. When he arrived in Buenos Aires in 1929, he went to live with the Salesians in Solis Lane where he was warmly welcomed in typical Salesian fashion. It was there that Mario encountered Fr. Pozzoli who promptly became his confessor.

Photography and other creative activities attracted the youth. Mario settled in to his new life in Buenos Aires and joined the lively group of young men that gathered around Fr. Pozzoli in much the same way the young men in Turin had often surrounded Don Bosco.

Fr. Pozzoli the missionary, confessor, and watchmaker, was also a photographer and much loved by the Sivori family, and most of all by their eldest son, Vincent Sivori, who had a passionate love for photography.

Mario met the Sivori brothers who were part of the Círulos Católicos de Obreros and eventually met Regina Maria Sivori whom he married on December 12, 1935 in San Carlos. Jorge’s Mama devoted herself to raising the family and to giving their five children a healthy religious upbringing.

His grandmother, Dona Rosa Margarita Vasallo de Bergoglio, a great promoter of Catholic Action,greatly inspired young Jorge who often carried with him one of her leaflets entitled “St. Joseph in the life of the maiden, the widow and the bride.”

He recounts one occasion when his grandmother said things that did not please the government and they closed the hall where she was to speak. Undaunted, she spoke out on the street, standing on a table.

“It’s not strange that I speak with affection of the Salesians, “ he wrote, “because my family was nourished spiritually by the Salesians of San Carlos.

“As a child I learned to go to the procession of Mary Help of Christians,” he wrote, “and also to that of Saint Anthony of Mexico Street. When I was at my grandmother’s home, I went to the Oratory of Saint Francis of Sales.

“As a child I had in my hands the Religious Instruction of Father Moret.” Fr Jorge added. “They had taught us to ask for ‘the blessing of Mary Help of Christians’ every time we took leave of a Salesian.”

An economic recession,however, began to take a toll on the flourishing Bergoglio family business. The President of the firm, Jorge’s granduncle, became ill with leukemia and lymphosarcoma and died.

The two events—the recession and the death of Juan Lorenzo—caused the family business to fail. They had to sell everything, from the family chapel in the cemetery to the four storey “Bergoglio Building” where the four brothers lived.

Jorge’s grandparents and his Papa were left with nothing.
