Silena x Beckendorf: A Summer Camp Story
🎀🎀🎀 WORD COUNT: 2222 (lol) 🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
FIC MASTERLIST
This takes place some unknown time before all the death and drama. This is just a cute fluffy little one-shot of a meet-cute between them- might be inconsistent with cannon because I haven't read the books in a while, don't take this too seriously and don't come for me if i get something wrong :)
The fire glowed with a purplish tinge, a color that must have correlated with the song Silena should have been singing. The whole camp was crowded on the benches surrounding the fire, singing into the sunset. It was early June, but Silena Beauregard didn’t feel the same excitement that her siblings did for the summer ahead.
It was kind of stupid, she knew, but Silena just didn’t want to be around her siblings for the whole summer. It was different in the winter, because there always seemed to be a type of urgency around the summertime. This feeling that anything and everything could change at any moment.
Silena Beaurgard had never been in a relationship before, and her siblings loved to mock her about it. She didn’t know if she could take another summer of ‘do you like him’ or ‘why don’t you like her’ or the ever annoying, ‘why don’t you want to be with them?’.
To be completely honest, Silena just wasn’t interested in those types of meaningless relationships and flings her siblings seemed to love. She wanted something real. She wanted something that would last forever.
And that someone just didn’t seem to be anyone at camp. All Silena wanted to do was make it through the summer with as little drama as possible, and if a relationship would ruin her peace, it wasn’t the type of love she wanted.
“Silena!” A high voice called, impatience covering their tone, “come on! Curfew is coming soon, we have to get back to the cabin!”
Silena snapped out of her daze, shocked to see that most of the camp was already walking back to their cabins. She must have spaced out at some point during the sing-along, too absorbed in her thoughts to realize what was happening around her.
She stumbled back to Aphrodite cabin in a daze, flanked by her siblings, Drew and Lacy.
Back in Aphrodite cabin, her siblings were already chattering excitedly about how they wanted to ruin a cabin’s day tomorrow.
“We should raid Athena cabin!”
“No, Athena will totally get us back. We should do another cabin.”
“But which one?”
“I don’t know!”
Silena began to tune out their terrible attempts at plotting out a raid. Normally what they did, (or at least what Lacy told Silena they did) was steal or destroy their clothes, paint on their faces… she got the idea. It wasn’t something Silena wanted to be a part of, especially because it was normally targeted at someone who ‘wronged’ one of them. Considering they didn’t even know who they were going to raid, it seemed ridiculous and kind of stupid to her.
“Wait, I have an idea!” A voice piped up from across the room, “what if we raid Hephaestus cabin!”
“No! They’ll get us back really badly!”
Silena had an idea, and started, “Well, they can’t get you back if you don’t get caught.”
Her siblings seemed to like that idea, and began brainstorming ways to get past Hephaestus’ cabin’s defenses. There really wasn’t a point to convincing them not to go, and Silena was so annoyed with their constant berating that she would revel in the payback that would be coming their way if they went through with it.
“Silena, are you going to come this time?” Valentina asked her, eyes almost pitiful at Silena’s ‘lack of adventure’ (as they liked to call it).
She laughed, “no, I’m okay. I want to get a full night’s sleep.”
“Uh! Why is that always your excuse!” Drew grumbled, blonde hair contorted in a bonnet. “You know what Silena, you’re coming with us tonight. It’ll be good for you, you have to live a little!”
Silena felt the charmspeak wrap around her like a vise. On any other day, she might’ve been able to resist, but she really was tired, and it couldn’t hurt to raid with her siblings once. Would it?
“Yeah, fine whatever Drew. Wake me up or something.” She mumbled, already succumbing to sleep, pajamas all but forgotten under her bunk. Hopefully they plan this one out, she remembered herself thinking as she fell into a deep sleep.
--
When Silena Beaurgard was awoken in what seemed to be the middle of the night, she knew something wasn’t right. “What-” she mumbled, still groggy with sleep.
Darkness shrouded her vision, excited whispers surrounding her as she struggled to remember what was happening. Eyes half-lidded, a weight seeming to tug her back down to her bed, she felt the sudden urge to change her clothes. She wanted to wear all black, she’d never wanted anything more in the world.
Her eyes began to adjust to the darkness, landing on none other than Drew. She wanted to do whatever Drew wanted. And if Drew wanted her to come with them, she would do so happily.
Silena stumbled out the back window of her cabin with the rest of her siblings, head void of thoughts or emotions in her haste to comply.
Wait.
What was she doing outside in the dead of night?
A voice beckoned her forward, you want to come with us.
She wanted to come with them. Silena had always wanted to come with them. What had she been thinking?
They crawled around behind cabins, stopping behind them in order to catch their breaths, careful to avoid sight of the Big House.
When Silena and the others got to Hephaestus cabin, they carefully maneuvered around the carefully placed sensors and cameras, preparing to sneak into the vault-like door. This door was the only entrance into the cabin, and they all knew just how challenging it would be.
It was clear that her siblings at least kind of planned this out, and decided to send someone first to open the door and disable the unavoidable cameras. Silena was honored to be given this role, because as Drew so helpfully put it, “You’re doing the most important job”.
She swiftly covered the cameras by the entrance, and began to pick the lock on the vault. It felt so nice to be of service to her lovely siblings. She would have to pay them back for the honor later.
Just as she thought she was getting somewhere with the lock, an alarm sounded, a net releasing from above and wrapping around her. “Ahhh!” She yelped in response.
She tried to shake it off of her, and whisper yelled, “help! Help!”
But when she tried to turn her body to regard her siblings, Silena was greeted with an empty expanse of darkness, not a soul in sight. How was she going to get herself out of this one?
Before Silena could respond to her own question, the metal door opened and out walked Beckendorf, the Head Councilor of Hephaestus Cabin.
“What are you doing here?!” He quietly called, glaring at her but clearly not wanting to be caught up past curfew.
“I-” she started, but didn’t know how to finish the sentence. What was she doing here? “I don’t know.”
He quietly laughed, dark eyes gleaming with humor, “What do you mean you don’t know?”
She shrugged and tensed against her restraints, tethered to the ground, “Drew-” Silena tried to get a better look at him, “Drew used her charmspeak on me.”
“Oh…” he sighed, “that bitch.”
She laughed, almost hysterical in her disheveled state, “can you help me get out of this?”
Silena looked down at herself, as if to gesture to the tight bondage around her.
Beckendorf’s soft, deep voice responded without a beat, rushing down to help her up, “Oh yeah, of course.” His strong arms wrapped around her and lifted her up, slowly unwrapping the net from around her. “Sorry about that,” he mumbled.
“It’s really not your fault, it was a good precaution.” She awkwardly began, not quite knowing what to say. He appraised her with a soft smile, as arms still resting on her shoulders.
As if realizing their too-close position, he cleared his throat and took a step back. Silena would be lying if she said she wasn’t a little endeared by his sudden awkwardness. There seemed to be an almost magnetic tug beckoning her to step closer to him, and she found herself leaning closer, half-hoping he would notice.
“I’m sorry for-” she started, not really knowing what she was apologizing for, “sorry for bothering you.”
“No, don’t worry about it,” he smiled, “you’re welcome to come by anytime.” He paused, as if unsure of what he was going to say next, “Silena, right?”
“Yeah, that’s me,” she shrugged, “I guess I’ll see you around.” She didn’t really want to leave and face her cabin mates again, but there was nothing else to say.
Just as she was turning to leave, Beckendorf broke the silence and burst, “do you want to, do you want to stay? If you're comfortable with that of course, I just…” he stuttered, “I don’t know if you want to hang out with those assholes, and you can’t stay out on the porch.”
He avoided her stare as Silena processed what he had just said, Beckendorf’s brown eyes darting around her face. He looked almost flustered, and Silena couldn’t fathom the courage it must have taken him to ask her that. A faint blush covering her face, she hesitated, “that would be really nice.”
She followed him inside the messy cabin without a word, not quite knowing what to do. She was just about to come up with something to say, but the restful expression on his sibling’s faces discouraged any conversation. Just as it was beginning to get awkward, he said, “come on, let me show you something.”
She didn’t get the chance to respond, because he was already opening some sort of panel, which revealed a thin metal ladder in the back of the room. She wordlessly followed him up, and sat beside him on the metal roof.
“See that panel over there?” He pointed to the back of the cabin, where there was an uptick in the roof, “they can’t see us from the Big House, I designed it myself.”
“It’s so nice up here, you really thought this out, didn’t you?”
“Well, I never imagined I’d be up here with a cute girl, but yeah, it’s a nice place to hang out,” Beckendorf grasped the back of his neck, short black hair framing the top of his head.
Silena blushed at the thought and looked away quickly, at a loss for words. The night sky really was beautiful, millions of tiny stars twinkling above. They settled into a comfortable silence, cool night air reaching out and brushing Silena’s long brown hair from her face.
“What am I going to do?” she said, mostly to herself. What was she going to do when she got back to her cabin? Drew could just charmspeak her again and…
“I don’t know.” His deep voice broke through her thoughts, grounding her in a way nothing had before, “If it makes you feel any better, me and my siblings fight and mess with each other all the time. I don’t know you as well as I would like, but I know that you’ll find a way. Family always does.”
“It’s just-” she began, unsure, “It’s just so frustrating! There’s all this pressure from everyone to be a perfect child of Aphrodite, to be pretty and kind all the time. And I just, I don’t know if that’s who I want to be. They’re so-” she paused, “they’re so manipulative and why can’t everyone just be nice. It seriously isn’t hard. I don’t know, does that make any sense?”
He sighed, turning to look at her better, “Yeah it does. You are not crazy for feeling that way. But I think that, so long as you, and me for that matter, keep being better people, karma will come around and fuck them up big time.” He smiled slightly, a lopsided grin that lifted her spirits ever-so slightly.
“Thanks for the pep talk”
“Anytime.”
They lapsed back into silence, looking at the stars. Her feet hanging slightly off the edge of Hephaestus cabin, black clothes she didn’t really even remember when she put on beneath her, Silena had the feeling that everything would be okay. She looked up at Beckendorf, whose feet were hanging just a bit farther off the roof than hers, and smiled, feeling her face heat up in an embarrassing blush. Thank the gods it wasn’t light out.
It must have been a bit later in the morning than she initially thought, because she saw the sky begin to brighten into a lighter hue. Dawn would break soon, and she couldn’t risk being caught out so late. The scandal.
“I should probably get going,” she got up, Beckendorf following her movement. He climbed down the ladder after her and as she made her way back out to the porch, Silena had the sudden feeling that once she left, she would never get this moment back.
Beckendorf stepped into the doorway, and hesitantly said, “See you arou-”
Silena kissed him on the cheek, Beckendorf inhaling a sharp breath. She blushed profusely, and before she could do anything more impulsive, she rushed a ‘bye’ and all but ran back to Aphrodite Cabin before she could be caught.
It was going to be one interesting summer.

jacks never had a bad track. “Glad to know you’re thinking about me when you kiss your husband.” BANGER. “But for tonight, let me pretend you’re mine.” ICONIC. “I’d probably kill another man if I found him with you like this” LIFE CHANGING. “There is nothing of equal value to me”. UNMATCHED.

Comic Adaptation of "Cinder" Chapter 1!
Hello world! I finally decided to post a comic adaptation of the first chapter. Since the language of my books is not English, I had to do the translation using Google Translate, which is why this translation may contain errors and be approximate (if someone has English versions of the books and you want to help me with a normal translation write to me).At the moment, I am already working on other chapters (I drew this chapter about six months ago, but I am posting it only now.)
P.S. I drew it with love 〒▽〒
