1-2-3-4 Festival
1-2-3-4 is a day festival in London next month which has been described as different to the normal 'polite, bed-wetters picnic like the other London festivals, its a proper rock show with bollocks'. Make of that what you will but the line up looks pretty decent indeed,
The 1-2-3-4 takes place in Shoreditch Park, east London, on Saturday the 9th of July. The Black Lips, The Raveonettes and Lydia Lunch are among those who’ll be appearing on the main stage which has been curated by Vice's new music site Noisey, while Becoming Real, Christian AIDS, Damo Suzuki, Echo Lake, Rainbow Arabia, The Proper Ornaments and a bunch of other people will be playing at other places across the site.
To add to the general sense of bonhomie, Noisey have decided to be extra generous and are offering exclusive NOISEY tickets. This means that they are cheaper for you to buy, so get yours.
For more information on the festival, visit the official 1-2-3-4 site.

Psychedelic Reinterpretations of Contemporary Rock 'n Roll

Al Lover‘s Distorted Reverberations of Reverberating Distortions is a new instrumental compilation that samples and re-creates some of the best current garage and psych bands. Best of all, it’s totally free.
In the words of the San Francisco producer:
The idea behind the project is to take this current music and rework it into something entirely different while at the same time citing the source material directly, helping to create extended community within the underground music scene.
The end result of Al Lover’s efforts is an infectious and eclectic mix of experimental hip-hop-styled sampling of songs by Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, White Fence, and many more. The entire mix (10 songs) can be downloaded for free over on Al Lover’s website.
Full tracklist...
Al Lover’s Distorted Reverberations of Reverberating Distortions:
1. Natural Child – White Man’s Burden 2. Shapes Have Fangs – Terlingua 3. Thee Oh Sees – If I Stay Too Long 4. White Fence – Sticky Fruitman Has Faith 5. King Tuff – Sun Medallion 6. Jeff The Brotherhood – Hey Friend 7. Ty Segall – Fist Heart Mighty Dawn Dart 8. Davila 666 – Yo Seria Otro 9. Night Beats – H-Bomb 10. Moonhearts – I Can Go On

Never really cared for the guy but he puts some very good points across in his last speech before his death.

Wooden Shjips/Moon Duo Mixtape
Now im pretty sick of talking about these guys recently but i heard this mixtape that Moon Duo/Wooden Shjips mainman Ripley did for the site Bad Vibes and after going back to it a two months later realised how good it was and it had only been listened to about 50 times in total across the board!
More from Ripley: Instead of doing a top ten list, I wanted to present some gems from less-exposed Bay Area artists (though there are a couple of obvious exceptions here). Nearly all of these are ripped from vinyl, so excuse any pops and crackles.
