I've always wondered how many people who don't like camping just had shitty experiences with it because people get the idea that you're supposed to suffer. When I talk about sleeping in a pile of leaves, you can bet your ass it's going to be a fancy pile of leaves designed for maximum coziness. You're supposed to be enjoying being outdoors not proving how tough you are by sleeping on a bed of rocks

So, needless to say, the house still smells much more moldy than it did before they stirred up all the dust

Also, those poor duct techs were not wearing respirators. I told them there was mold, I showed them where it was, I said I had no idea why the landlord sent them while there was an active leak (and they agreed that it was silly). I was wearing a respirator myself yet they seemed perfectly comfortable starting the process with 0 lung protection. I'm sure that the whole year of regular breathing attacks is probably influencing me some, but I cannot imagine having my job be 'removing 60 years worth of buildup from old air systems' and not wearing a respirator.
Anyway, the guy operating the brush definitely sent dust clouds into the bedroom, started coughing, and had to go outside and take a break. I'm sure this house was more than they bargained for, but...

Y'know what stops mold (or mushrooms) from growing? Fixing leaks.
Y'know what doesn't? Having the air ducts vacuumed. Especially if it's only the ducts and not any part of the actual blower. Especially especially if they don't seal off the other vents to prevent the crap they're dislodging from the ducts from escaping out the other vents.
Y'know what I didn't need at my weakest and most worn out? To have to move every piece of furniture I own on short notice
You know what I did today? That
Y'know what I get to do next? Sanitize it all and put it back

Agh. I just want to take a hot shower to control some of the pain for a bit, but I know I'll just wind up unbearably itchy instead :/

If I've learned anything this year it's that doctors love to order blood tests for rare cancers "just in case"
Well, I've finally had to make a medical binder.
The provider I'm seeing next week doesn't use MyChart so I went to go make sure I have copies of all my test results and, hoo-boy, they do not fit in my sleek little folder anymore. We're just about a week shy of a year from that ER visit (which would have been the first time I had any testing done) and in that time I've had upwards of 75 tests ordered. Good grief

My insurance denied the medication pre-auth
The reason? Well, you see, it's because I only have one condition that would be treated by the drug and not two conditions that would be treated by the drug. Obviously that makes it not medically necessary 🙃 (this is sarcasm on my end, but that actually is what they are saying).
Now, you might be thinking "wow, that's a fucked up policy," but you would be wrong because the policy they cited says no such thing.
The policy gives 7 different routes for the medication to be approved (and I very clearly meet the criteria for my condition), which means they have denied the pre-authorization request based on requirements that they made up.
I've been told I can't appeal the decision internally. I will call back again tomorrow to ask again (I swear I never get the same answer out of them twice), but if I'm still told I can't appeal then I have to get the state involved 🙃

Huh. I always forget there are still people who both have the vacation days and the money to take a week off of work, but there must be a decent overlap between that group and the group of 'people who see the doctor' because I keep getting appointments that are all scheduled close together right before/after holidays. .

It always feels a little bit too derailing to add on to trans masc posts since it's only mentioned in passing and is never the point of the post, but if you can 1. stand and 2. pee with approximately average force, then you can stand to pee. No devices, funnels, or surgeries needed and gender is optional. Sure, the technique is a little different and it'll require a little practice, but cis men had to practice too.
There are plenty of tutorials online. Go, be free

Heart is faster, but I feel goddamned lighter. Between the brainfog, fatigue, and daily headaches I'm not sure/can't remember what it was doing to my mood, but the difference is stark even if I can't name or describe what the difference is.
BTW I did give up on that beta blocker, which is why I now have the energy to bitch on tumblr again 😅
