junaris is meditating and studying the ancient texts in the low oxygen vaults. she's contemplating a dangerous prophecy, long sitting in the deep archives deciphered recently and written eons before mankind ever washed up on the shores on this hostile planet. it speaks of a vague but dangerous threat to the world, far worse than anything else. but what could be worse than their current situation? besieged on all sides by almost every threat known to the imperium, the local forces on barely able to keep this war at a stalemate. our forces spread too thin for the sheer number of battlefronts that open up daily.

her vox link chirps with an incoming call request from another battle sister of her order elsewhere in the monastery. junaris reaches up and activates the link accepting the call begrudgingly. "Sister Therian I thought I requested to not be disturbed until I

my first models ever on the left. they came with a old "learn to paint" type kit that came out around the time they introduced primaris marines I think? the kit came with a couple paints, just enough to make some Ultramarines :) looking at them now the paint is very inconsistent. lots of colors going over edges into other spaces, the layers of paint not being uniform, etc etc. I don't want to touch these guys up though. the have a beautiful first model charm to them I still think looks cute uvu

on the right is mine and my partner's stand in self OC type marines. each have their own chapters. his is the slightly kitbashed Chaplin mine is the female space marine (also technically kitbashed because of the head). these two are definitely my favorite models I've ever made. I put a lot of effort into making them colorful and unique but also very clean. maybe add some stuff here about the chapters and the names?

here is my guardsmen. main center is our regimental officer, his kitbashed vox officer, and one of the standard guardsmen. the rest of the command squad is still in my pile of unfinished work T~T the vox officer is my idea for the planet all my models exist on. he's from the local imperial cult and counts as a veteran guard unit. this way they look like a nice fanatic vibe while still looking guard enough.

Death Vipers

colors: tan brown and olive

originally a lost death guard group they weren't around when the main group went chaos. got unlost in the warp around st. soln. at first they didn't know the death guard had gone evil and thought the lunar remnants were a rouge faction like the lunar remnants thought of them. a brief battle occurred when the lunar remnants boarded the death guard ship. Capt Junaris clashed with Chaplain Skelerlik and realized that he showed no signs of corruption and still had imperial symbols on his armor. Junaris shouted for a truce and the two sides eyed each other expecting a trick. Junaris announced herself and her chapter, demanding to know who these invaders were. upon realizing their mutual misunderstandings the two sides met in the fortress monastery of the lunar remnants. chaplain Skelerlik learned of the betrayal of his legion and decided he and the men on his ship would from then on be known as the Death Vipers. they changed their colors but kept their culture of making poisons and toxins. they now dip all their bolter rounds and hand made ritual daggers crafted from the fangs of slain sand worms which are hunted as part of their initiation.

- Chaplain Skelerlik. combat and spiritual leader of the desert vipers. he carries a bolter pistol and a custom necron scythe that has been purified and repurposed to cut down the wicked and the profane. he hopes one day the souls he harvests will outweigh the sins of his traitorous founding legion.

been painting some sisters of battle specifically the seraphim? and I wanna make a vampire themed group who feeds on the blood on the wicked. can't come up with a name though. Order of the Bloody Rose was the first thing I thought of because blood for vampires and roses are a thing/symbolic in some vampire media. but it turns out.... that's already a canon group. bloody fang is too direct and lacks that maiden softness. would sanguine rose be too close? maybe something with lilies because obviously a group of vampire girlies immortal and tight knit are perfect for being totally gay. I had a name concept I really liked and I thought I wrote it down but lost the notes and now I'm just kinda stuck without a name ;v;

idea..... desert pyramids of pre settlement origin. maze inside that goes down and down but no one has ever been able to map it for some reason..... open oasis rooms occasionally with mysterious machines inside

space marines as Future Knights (tm) is cool but I wanna see more space marines as commandos in huge unwieldy chunky clunky invincible suits of armor. less fantasy knights more actual clumsy lumbering knights

theyre super strong and fast but slowing down? turning corners? fine motor skills? forget about it. that's why bolters are so square and basic with big brick mags because in power armor you can't do special taped mags it's just rip it out jam a fresh one in. terminators are worse theyre like walking tanks and move like freight trains. you just get really good at learning to walk through fire or throwing yourself in a straight line to smash through something for cover.

newer primarius marines are looked at in awe and wonder because they can actually bend over to pick stuff up and use data slates without putting a finger through the plate.

quick idea plan for the main story

space hulk drifts into the system after a sudden warp storm. whatever enemy factions I want can invade the planet from here. maybe this will happen after we (the players) put a stop to a minor chaos cult which would serve as a kinda tutorial warm up mission but maybe they called the hulk here somehow 🤔

i got a long shift at work today so I'll think some stuff over while I work and maybe start to flesh out a first chapter arc campaign thingy.

I guess at some point I should make a fully fleshed out list or something about st soln but I'm on mobile so I'll just make this a spammy scratchwork post and rework it into so.ething proper later.

- history: st soln is a dry desert world far away from other human colonized worlds and most trade routes. founded thousands of years ago before the planet was a desert St Soln's original name has been lost to time. the original settlers were from a early model human generation type ship. this lead to a melting pot culture where all types were welcome until they reconnected with humanity from a passing arm of the Great Crusade over ten thousand years ago.

- factions: a feudal government with a planetary king who lives in the one major city named (something about landing? origin spot?). the king is in contact with the rest of the empire through the occasional imperial guard fleets stopping to refuel or founding new regiments of Guard. the church is the main administration and is responsible for actually running the planet day to day as well as the training of troops and trade with the tech gangs who live in the wastes. to join the church's army and travel to the stars in the name of the God Emperor is a great honor. guard prospects are chosen for their piousness over their physicalness. the best soldiers are chosen to serve in the church's holy regiment (need better name) and act as city guard, police, and priests all in one. start writing about the tech gangs here

- moon: decaying fortress monastery dominates most of the small moon. the landscape is dotted with ruins of even older non human origin. little to no atmosphere makes this rock inhospitable to all but the Lunar Remnants due to their astartes physiology. the Lunar Remnants even struggle at times and as such the low oxygen makes them tired. only the oldest of the chapter permanently live here, leading humble slow lives of meditation and preservation of history
