Tritype Profiles: The Seeker
Shared Trait: Triple Self-doubting
Fixes: 4, 6, 9 (in any order)
General Profile: This is one of the most vulnerable and soft-mannered tritypes.  They often struggle with issues of identity and where they fit in. They are highly sensitive to the reactions and behavior of others which may make them difficult to get close to, but usually also makes them highly considerate of where others are coming from. They can have difficulty standing up for themselves without dramatic or passive aggressive behavior, though they are quick to support others in a gentle and loving way when those others are mistreated. They tend to have a whimsical and innocent air about them which belies a deep gravity inside of them - the weight of the never-ending search for truth. Many of these individuals have difficulty expressing themselves in a direct or pragmatic way, preferring to use imagery and abstract concepts. This tritype is over-represented among poets.
If Core 4: The most friendly 4. Due to the double Attachment fixations, they lack the aloofness of many 4s. They are still reserved, but are more responsive to others’ needs and less lost in their heads. They have more of a desire to share their inner life and to have it validated. They are still moody, but they have more of a sense of humor about themselves and their lives. Their creative work, while raw, is also welcoming. Likeliest instinctual variant: so/sp
If Core 6: The most reserved 6. Their quirky behavior may mask their conscientiousness, but not their anxiety. They can be described as “squirrely.” They seek belonging as much as any other 6, but it may be in more unusual spaces and among more reserved people - groups of “misfits”, as it were. They may dismay that they desire more solidarity than their compatriots. Their convictions can be easily disrupted by disapproval from outside sources, triggering a moral crisis. They openly seek protection from such instances by aligning with like-minded, like-experienced groups.  Likeliest instinctual variant: sp/so
If Core 9: The most emotional 9. They are less outwardly calm, but nonetheless make their desire for a secure and harmonious environment known. They often experience or express a disconnect between the self and the emotions, portraying them in more indirect ways - it is catharsis rather than the expression of something stable. Like Type 4, they use their imaginative faculties to form and maintain a sense of self. Like many 9s, they are spiritual, but they may find spiritual inspiration in unconventional and unexpected venues such as literature.  Likeliest instinctual variant: so/sx

Jane Austen’s Emma, but in the style of The Office:
Every time Emma meddles with someone’s love life, Knightley stares into the camera like Jim Halpert.

jily and shirbert parallels
Can we talk about how two of my favorite fictional couples, James/Lily and Anne/Gilbert, are both a redheaded fiery-tempered girl and a dark-and-messy-haired boy? And how that also applies to Hinny, another one of my favorites?
It's kind of funny, and an interesting coincidence!

lily is an INFP and you cant change my mind
I'm wondering as to why you've typed Lily Evans as INFP? Because I just can't see,and we never get an insight into her personality - I've always seen her as an ENFP.
Well, I do have some explanation in the post, which I hope helps. We do get insight into her from multiple perspectives. Including Slughorn, James, Lupin, her sister, and Snape. Knowing their bias and blindspots makes constructing her narrative rather interesting and it is what overall leads me to INFP.
Tumblr media
She prefers one on one contact with people and wasn’t one to step or want to step into the limelight. This pushes me away from E, especially ENFP. This is apparent when we contrast her to her ESFP husband, James. She clearly has this introversion that she shares with Snape.
She is so incredibly open to people and doesn’t judge them till she has experienced some sort of social contact with them. This is what makes her so open to Snape and why she dislikes James’ initial bullying. While, ENFPs are open, they are typically more assertive than Lily is at first. Lily can get assertive but it takes time to get her there. This doesn’t mean she is passive in the sense that many view as negative though. She is introverted so she is processing everything through her Fi, once she does though she can snap back quick. This is her inferior Te shining through in her certainty. We see this in her standing up to both James and Snape.
She is one who prefers an open exchange of ideas and feelings rather than action. Hence, another reason for secondary Ne rather than Se.

@random-esfp what do you think about this?
Have you heard about the hypothesis that intuitives are more attracted to typology because it's abstract, if so do you think it's true? Considering that the community already has a strong intuitive bias, i'm not so sure.
I have heard it and I don’t think it’s true at all.
In one older survey on Tumblr of the MBTI community, there about 3 times as many self-identified INFJ respondants as self-identified ISFJs. In real life, there are, per the MBTI institute, about 10 times as many ISFJs as INFJs. For this to work out on a large scale, assuming the MBTI institute’s numbers are in the right range, it means that an INFJ is 30 times more likely than an ISFJ to be interested in typology.
Now granted that’s a whole bunch of assumptions, namely, there’s a lot of volunteer bias here and the MBTI institute’s number may be imperfect. So what I suspect is one or more the following:
1. Intuitives are not as rare as the MBTI Institute says they are. The MBTI Institute’s data comes from surveys over time; a lot of those are going to come from corporate offices and I can see corporate office workers being more likely to be sensors interested in stability and routine (with an especial skewing towards SJs). It could just be that the MBTI distribution is wildly different than we think it is because no one’s ever tested the general population in a truly random study, and also even official tests have bias because this isn’t a blood test. In this case, if we assume corporate offices are more interested in typology, and corporate offices skew towards sensors, that sort of ruins the idea that intuitives are more interested in typology.
I also strongly suspect the number of intuitives online in proportion to sensors would go down when suddenly they’re equally common. I call this the INFJ paradox; when you call out how many INFJs there are online someone’s like “maybe there are more INFJs than we think” and it’s like “okay then why is your blog entirely talking about how you make up only 1% of the population then, either there’s lots of you or there aren’t, make up your mind.” Which brings me to point 2:
2. Typology resources often say intuitives are groundbreaking and visionary and sensors like rules and tools. As such, most people who read this and like it are going to say they’re intuitive, because why would you be a sensor. I don’t actually know why the MBTI community on Tumblr shrank dramatically over recent years, but one of my guesses is that people stopped blowing smoke up the asses of anyone who said they had high Ni without question, and so it wasn’t fun anymore for people looking for cheap validation. From what I understand this bias is alive and well on other typology sites, which might be why they’re more popular because people don’t want a system that says “you’re not misunderstood you’re just 15 and angsty” and they definitely don’t want one that says “the reason you’re misunderstood is because you’re a terrible communicator and unpleasant to be around, not because you are too much of a genius for people to comprehend.”
All that said: a slight preference among intuitives over sensors? Definitely possible. A preference to the degree we’d need to see for the 2016 numbers of each type to make sense? Nope.

Why Jack and Sally Are a Healthy Ship
Sally was what Jack was longing for all along when he sang about it in his Lament, that he was actually looking for some love in his life to solve his loneliness and give him something new from his usual Halloween “catch 22″ deal.
Sally helped Jack’s depression by giving him a REASON to be happy coming home. Jack was content with Halloween after the ordeal because he has Sally by his side now.
Jack Skellington took Sally away from her treatment back at home with Finklestein. He gave her a reason why she’d want freedom instead of being locked away in the Tower.
Even though Sally disagreed with Jack and didn’t have her warning adhered, she still supported and helped him with what he wanted to do.
While she admires and gawks over him like the other citizens do, Sally is of the few who gives Jack space instead of filling him with compliments.
Sally strongly believed that Jack would save her and Santa from their death, even if he had no idea that she was down there. She believed in him so strongly that she threatened Oogie.
Jack admires Sally’s talents and gives her a job specialized for it, even complimenting that she’s the only one “clever” enough to do it.
Sally understood why Jack was depressed and how he couldn’t leave his role no matter how much he wants to. She sympathizes his position because she’s in one herself.
Jack and Sally had an ongoing and developing friendship that blossomed into more by the end of the movie.
Sally notices that Jack is overworking himself and prepares him some food and drink, even going to the extent of sneaking out just to give it to him.
Jack only opens up to Sally about how he’s feeling, what with him telling her that he feels “so much better now!” while she’s fitting him for the costume.
Sally instantly apologizes after hurting Jack, even if it was by accident.
They both can be reminded of one another even when they aren’t together. They have their homes in each other’s view at all times. Sally in her bedroom window aimed at Jack’s home, Jack with hers in his study.
Jack never rats Sally out for escaping Finklestein, possibly implying that he knows she’s unhappy there.
Jack loves Sally so strongly that he got rid of Oogie Boogie for trying to kill her, even though they were both still friends at the time.
Sally knows and understands how Jack usually behaves, which was why she was able to tell that him being Santa Claus wasn’t “like him at all”.
Sally never had the attitude of “I told you so” when she happened to be right.
Jack didn’t follow her warnings because he wanted to assure her that his plans were happier than what she was telling him.
Jack hesitates while singing to her on the Spiral Hill just so he could see if she really loves him back.
