UNDONE LEGENDS - A NADDPOD C1 ROLESWAP AU

CHAPTER 1 - THIS CITY IS HOME.

In the back of a carriage, Thiala examined a cracked pendant. This pendant, a holy relic of her god Pelor, had once belonged to the legendary paladin Beverly Toegold V. Once the youngest paladin of the church of Pelor, now missing and gone. All that Thiala knew was this pendant could only have cracked for one reason: somehow, someway, Beverly had broken his pact. What once was a gift that all followers of Pelor receive now sat around her neck, a symbol of shattered devotion. 

A week ago, Thiala had started a quest that every cleric of Pelor must travel to be confirmed in the church: goin' where the sun keeps shinin' thru the pourin' rain. Or, how she preferred to phrase it, a quest to find Pelor’s essence even in the darkest of places. Everything she had done up to this point had been guided by this mantra; to bring Pelor’s light to those in need, and to help the people of Bahumia. This had led her to fighting a dragon and meeting her two current travelling companions. Ulfgar, the brash and loud dwarven fighter who kept a tankard on his hip, and Alanis, the aloof and oddly wise elven wizard with a mechanical pipe to smoke. Luckily for Thiala, the smoke only seemed to affect the mental wherewithal of Alanis, so no worries of second-hand smoke.

During their… acquisition of items from the dragon Shadowfang’s hoard, Thiala had found the pendant of Beverly Toegold V cracked and unable to be mended. What she had found was known simply as a Pact Amulet, a religious gift that acts as a tangible reminder to your pact with a god. Now, Thiala’s thumb ran through each deep groove in the gemstone, mind wandering to every possibility that could have happened to the great paladin...
