cravings masterpost
over the years, i have been taught what certain cravings mean and how i can replace them in a healthy way. so i figured, why not share it with you guys?Â
if you crave chocolateâŚ
your body needs magnesium. a quick fix for this is raw nuts and seeds, legumes, or fresh fruits.Â
if you crave sweetsâŚ
your body might need some of the following:Â
-chromium - have some broccoli, grapes, cheese, or chicken.Â
-carbon - chow down on some fresh fruit.Â
-phosphorus - chicken, eggs, legumes, or grains can help.Â
-tryptophan - similar to magnesium, have some raw nuts and seeds, legumes, or fresh fruits.Â
if you crave bread or toastâŚÂ
your body needs nitrogen. have some high protein foods such as fish, meat, nuts, or beans.Â
if you crave fatty foodsâŚÂ
your body needs calcium. broccoli, kale, legumes, or cheese help.Â
if you crave alcoholâŚÂ
your body might need some of the following:
-protein - think seafood, dairy, or nuts.Â
-avenin - chow down on some granola or oatmeal.Â
-calcium - broccoli, kale, legumes, or cheese help. Â
-potassium - bitter greens or seaweed usually do the trick.Â
if you crave ice cream/shaved iceâŚÂ
your body needs iron. some suggestions are fish, greens, seaweed, or black cherries.Â
if you crave burned or grilled foodâŚÂ
your body needs carbon. chow down on some fresh fruits.Â
if you crave soda and carbonated drinksâŚÂ
your body needs calcium. broccoli, kale, legumes, or cheese help.
if you crave salty foodsâŚ
your body needs chloride. goat milk (yes i know thatâs a little odd) and fish help.Â
if you crave acid foods (burgers)âŚÂ
your body needs magnesium. just like chocolate, have some raw nuts and seeds, legumes, or fresh fruits.Â
if you crave cool drinks (milkshakes or malts)âŚÂ
your body needs manganese. some suggestions are walnuts, pecans, almonds, pineapple, or blueberries.Â
if youâre PMS-ingâŚÂ
your body needs zinc. red meat, seafood, leafy greens, and root vegetables are helpful.Â
if youâre overeatingâŚÂ
your body might need some of the following:Â
-silicon - nuts and seeds are a quick fix.Â
-tryptophan - eat some cheese, raisins, sweet potatoes, or spinach.
-tyrosine - vitamin c supplements should do the trick.Â
if you crave tobaccoâŚ
your body might need some of the following:Â
-silicon - nuts and seeds help, but stay away from refined starches.Â
-tyrosine - vitamin c supplements or red, orange, or green fruits and veggies can help.Â

Imagine
Imagine you wake up on a perfect fall morning in your favourite pjs: a pink tshirt, gray fluffy shorts, and thick pink knee socks.
You walk over to the mirror very daintily and gracefully and examine your tremendous thigh gap. Itâs huge. Not quite as big as your smile though.
Itâs 6am and youâre happy to be up early. Itâs no longer difficult, your body is used to it. You make your bed, and make sure your room is tidy, even though it always is. You do some yoga, watch YouTube videos, read, have a cup of tea, and just relax until the sun starts to come up telling you itâs time for a run. 10k is easy for you now.
You come home and shower before work. You have lots of time to blow out your hair and do your makeup. You feel so productive and proud of yourself.
You put on your work uniform: black tights, a black skirt, a black shirt, and beautiful black wedges. You work as a waitress, everyone loves you, your regulars look forward to being served by you, and you love walking around for a living.
You look amazing. Youâre the skinniest girl at work. Everyone asks how you did it. You are an inspiration, they say. Youâve heard that before.
You smile and shrug. Just diet and exercise, you say. You know itâs much more than that.
They tell you how badly they wish they had your willpower as they wolf down burgers and fries on their break, while you slowly nibble on your dry salad, chewing each bite at least 20 times.
You know.
They make fun of how slow you eat and you laugh along. You donât mind their jokes because you know eating slowly is one of the reasons you got thin. You work at a restaurant and you STILL lost weight. You are so powerful.
The salad was the first thing you ate along with 2 glasses of water. You continue to drink lots of water throughout your shift, and a bit of Diet Coke.
Once again, youâre made fun of for constantly needing to use the washroom, and once again, you laugh along. Youâre all close enough to friendly poke fun at each other like this. You know they wouldnât like you this much if you were heavy.
Itâs the end of your shift, you cash out and count your tips. Enough to save some and buy a new outfit. One you EARNED.

Later at home, you have another dry salad for dinner and an apple for dessert. You love this new lifestyle, and yourself. You canât remember the last time you were able to say that. You take off your makeup and change into sweats which make you look cute instead of puffy. You do some exercises before relaxing with some tea. You watch more YouTube, read, text your friends and boyfriend, (who loves your new body and confidence) watch tv, or read, no worries here.
3 hours after your Apple, you climb into bed with a smile on your face.
You love this life.

I can see your stomach bulging, and so can everyone else!
They can see your thighs jiggle as you thump down the street.
They can see the multiple chins you have when you laugh, jolly fat girl.
The way your arms wobble when you clap or wave, itâs so gross.
The way you take up such an enormous space compared to that pretty girl over there.
You are so massive, everyone can see it! You canât hide behind baggy clothes, you cant just pretend you donât notice the stares and whispers, you canât hide this!
YOU ARE FAT - you are literally impossible to miss! đđ you whale.
Now sort it out, you got yourself into this mess, you greedy animal, now get yourself out of it. Start now. NO excuses!!!

Do you?
Does anyone else sort of use their eating disorder as like a really fucked up comfort blanket?
Like I do okay for awhile, I eat little more, weigh a little more, still hate myself but then something tips me over the edge and Iâm straight back to starving myself because thatâs what makes me feel safe and itâs the only thing Iâm good at, like it feels familiar and comforting, even though we all know eating disorders are horrible nasty things, that never really make you feel better?

in 7 hours I can eat a salad
thereâs an art to breaking a fast, you know? you have to plan ahead, break it while youâre still strong and in control so you can eat something small and healthy and not just go crazy and binge
