Cosima smiled, knowing what his answer was going to be as she set everything up, as if he were a puppet being pulled by her strings. He truly would be a fool if he rejected her mercy, and she would not have considered things twice. The goddess craved a useful partner; she had plenty of pawns. She needed a knight, or a king chess piece on the board, if she wanted to aim for the Figarland name to be completely hers. The woman might have been insane, but she believed she was owed what was rightfully hers. The female hated her cousin being praised from a young age, as it was similar to her brother, male heirs. She was the older sibling, and she did everything to keep her father’s property from going bankrupt due to her foolish sibling. Now he was dead, thrown into the sea like the trash he was, and her father was six feet below her designs and schemes.

The woman hummed softly as her nails traced along his jawline, so she could feel the seastone prism laced nail polish once more before withdrawing her touch from him. He was going to be her instrument, her dog of war that she would unleash when challenging the Celestial Dragon hierarchy. The goddess chuckled softly before tilting her head to allow her crimson locks to fall around her face before speaking with a voice like honey, “It’s very easy when your uncle is one of the Five Elders.” While he had been in prison and rotting away, big splashes were being made after the reveal of the secret about the world sinking.

It gave the Figarland name more power to its name. Not just anyone would be by her side. Cosima was planning on having the next Figarland heir, so they needed good genetics from both parents. Other Celestial families would have gladly offered up their sons or even themselves to be used as mere breeding studs. It was disgusting to think they were on the same level as her. Incestuous inbreeding had corrupted them, and they had become worse than fallen gods. They were false divine beings that were more disgusting. “Besides, I will be having the next Figarland heir, so I deserve only the best, wouldn’t you say?” 

Cosima was making her intentions clear that she wanted to challenge her cousin for everything. He was still single and busy with the God Knights in the lesser world, so she needed to take advantage and quickly have a child. Her pink eyes glanced down, observing the blonde carefully to see if the gears were turning in his head by how big her ambitions truly were. Leaning in close again, she spoke in a sweet tone while her arms coiled around his large shoulders like snakes. “You deserve to get back at those false divine beings, and what better way than becoming the husband of the most superior divine families?” The female held the paper close to her hand as this marriage was not out of love or duty, but more like a business. 

If he followed the contract and allowed her to hold his leash, she would allow him to maim her enemies while getting everything he deserved. It might have looked like lovers whispering sweet nothings to each other, but it was going to be a test to see if he truly understood his role she was offering. An heir from their union, her war dog to sick on her enemies, and her knight to use on the chess board as she pleased. In turn, he would get everything that was rightfully his.

Never in his wildest dreams could he have written this script. Had it not been for the weight of her on his chest, he would've deemed this a fever dream, and been genuinely concerned for the state of his health.

Already when she said the words: MARRY A DIVINE BEING - he knew ( but could NOT BELIEVE! what was coming ). The only divine being here was HIM. From birth, he was chosen to be MORE. He had walked the path through HELL that lead to GODHOOD.

And she wanted him.

Even to Doflamingo, it was insane. SHE was insane. And that suited him perfectly.

Her emotions seemed genuine to him. The anger in her fingertips as they curled into his uniform. The determination in her eyes. She then brought out a paper. A key to HEAVEN.

For a moment ; the shortest of moments, Doflamingo was that boy again. His hand soaked with blood that had trailed down his forearm, and dried into cracks. His father's head had been heavy to carry, in the end, even as blood had drained from it. He remembered the taste of salt from his tears, and the BITTERNESS of disappointment, when they turned him away. They had rejected him from returning, even as he brought the head of their father who had FORCED them to live in HELL. All Doflamingo had wanted was to be safe again. For him and his brother to both be safe.

The moment was over, and Doflamingo was back in reality. What he had wanted back then was now being waved in front of him. It was surreal. However, he had stopped doubting that it was WAS real. Of course it was real! This was all meant to happen.

She cupped his face. He knew that she knew that he could not reject her. Why would he want to? The real question here was; WHY DID SHE CHOOSE HIM? Surely there were other Celestial Dragons that she could've married? He could only assume that she was too arrogant. She WANTED the satisfaction of controlling the most dangerous God of all. He had been burnt by such arrogance himself. A mistake he would not make again.

❝ I gladly accept your offer. ❞ He answered, and it sounded sincere - because it was. This could not have worked out any better for him. ❝ I must say I'm impressed that you have managed to arrange this. ❞ Reinstating his status... That was no small feat. He was aching to know her reasoning for choosing him, but he assumed he would learn that soon enough. Impel Down had taught him patience.
