Bonus Prompt: Witchy Calendar
This prompt is fairly self explanatory. Though 2024 and the challenge are over, plan out your year with events, holidays and even moon phases or other astrological events for the year ahead! Having these in your phone or on a paper calendar can help you to plan spells and rituals accordingly, especially if you prescribe to doing certain spells during certain moon phases.
So what things are on a witchy calendar?
Moon phases
Astrological occurrences
Holidays (wheel of the year or otherwise)
Regular life events
Rituals and spell timing
Any important dates to your life or practice
Anything you see fit for your practice!
So plan it out! In your phone with reminders, on your computer or even on a paper calendar hanging on the wall! Work the magic into your year!

Bonus Prompt: Relationship Magic
This prompt is all about utilizing magic within relationships. Of all kinds. Romantic, platonic, family, friends, enemies. All of them.
Make a separate list or page for each of those kinds of relationships. What kinds of objects do you associate with each one? What plants? What crystals? What kinds of activities and events? What color? If you feel the need, break each list down further and list specific people and the things you associate with that person specifically. Since each relationship itself is different, each relationship will likely have its own associations.
Now, think about what kinds of magic you can do within each relationship. Something to strengthen it? Something to weaken it? Something to cut ties? Something to spark romance, or cool off a heated romance? Something to bring peace and avoid conflict? The options are limitless. Think about what tools and items you would need for each of these kinds of magic, or look them up!
Good luck and happy crafting witches!

Final Prompt!
So you've finished the challenge, now what?
For the rest of the week I will sporadically be posting the bonus prompts that Tumblr ate, and that I haven't yet posted. But don't let this challenge and its outline be the end of your studying. Utilize it, sure. Use it as a stepping stone to furthering your learning, but find other resources as well!
Use discernment. When you find a list of associations, or spells online, or an informative post about any witchy subject (and even non witchy ones) use discernment. Slow down, take in the facts, learn the WHY behind the association, or the action, or whatever is being described.
Don't take things at face value. Real witchcraft isn't often as pretty and aesthetic as it seems online. There's dust, and ash, and half burned candles, torn paper, matches and incense sticks. Your hands are going to get dirty. Especially with point 3.
DO THE WORK. Having a backlog of information is great. But all that info is useless if you don't dig in your fingers, get dirt under your fingernails, and do the work.
Learn. From everyone, from everything, from everywhere. Wisdom is all around us, and a lot of it can be put towards things we wouldn't think it could be. Applying real world wisdom to witchcraft can sometimes seem like a stretch (and vice versa) but it is entirely possible.
Have fun. Don't let it become a chore. If it does, take a step back, reevaluate and re organize.
Be yourself.
It has been a blast to get to host this challenge again, and though I've no plans to run one in 2025, if anyone does, I am more than happy to answer questions and will gladly show support.
Much love, and Happy Casting witches!

Bonus Prompt: Utilizing technology
This prompt is more a practical thing. What kinds of technology can aid you in your craft? I don’t mean in spell work, but in other ways. There are apps that can help with moon phases, star gazing, even tarot! What about your computer? Digital grimoire notes are a great way to stay organized? Are there shows or movies or music that inspire you? Photoshop to help design spell and grimoire pages?
How can a calendar app help you in your practice?
How can a note taking app help in your practice?
How can you utilize the technology available to you to help your practice?
Lots to think about and discover!
Good luck and happy crafting witches!

Bonus Prompt - Associations
For this prompt we are taking a look at associations. Let’s define it.
Association - Noun - a metal connection between ideas or things.
So when we talk about associations in witchcraft, we mean the connection between a thing and another thing, which is what gives us the purpose for using it in our craft. Red cloth and candle for love. White for purification. Salt for purification. And so on.
It is fine and dandy to gather association lists from others, as it gives us an idea to start from. But often times we don’t agree with certain aspects or associations. So what do we do then?
Trust your gut. Your feelings. What you know. What do you associate that particular object with? Be it an animal, a color, a plant, whatever. What do you personally associate it with? And most importantly WHY do you associate it with that particular thing.

December Week 5: Looking Ahead
Now that we looked back at the year we just finished, lets look at the year before us. Where is your studying going to take you? Where is your craft going to take you? Where do you WANT them to take you? Don't be so rigid, but make a loose plan. If nothing else just keep it in the back of your mind, if not written down.
Monday - Your Grimoire
Practical - Now that you've begun this year's process of working on your grimoire, how do you plan to continue? How are you going to decorate it? How are you going to organize it? How are you going to carry on what you've started? Finding more prompts? Doing more decorating, bit by bit? Fleshing out the pages you've already started?
Research - Herbal Study - Pick your last herb from your list of plants and learn everything that you can about it! Practical and mundane uses, culinary and magical uses. Associations and history. Myth and legends. Everything!
Tuesday - Your Notes
Practical - Finding more prompts - Where and how can you find more prompts to continue researching? Books, reading, online, asking questions, doing the work and feeling like something is out of place and missing, when you don't fully understand or get curious about some part of your craft. You can utilize almost any avenue as pathway for learning. Of course just scouring the internet and looking up occult terms, or witchcraft related topics can lead to a rabbit hole of learning. Don't let this challenge be the end of your learning. Utilize it as a stepping stone, apply the questions from all these prompts to new subjects.
Research - Gem Study - Pick a gem you haven't researched yet, and dive in! Learn its associations and history, myths and legends, practical and mundane uses. Chemical makeup and where it comes from. How it is formed. Everything!
Wednesday - Actual Practice
Practical - Spellwork - Do a spell or ritual to close out the new year. Close any doors or cut ties to the last year. Something to symbolically end the year for you, and allow you to move into the new year with as little weighing you down and holding you back as possible. Record it in your lab notebook so that you can work through the spell and rework it if you ever intend to cast it again.
Research - Spell Schedule - not really a necessity, but think about all the times we (you) cast spells and performed rituals this past year. Is that a normal schedule you would like to keep? Would you like to work in more spells and rituals? How can you do that? Make a rough outlined plan of spells and rituals for the year ahead, and don't feel bad if you can't stick to it, but give it a shot!
Thursday - Safety First
Introspection - Think about all you learned, not only this year, but leading up to where you are in your practice. What are the safety tips you would give younger witches? What are the safety hazards you have personally discovered? What safety hazard and precautions have you learned about from other witches and resources.
Research - Safety - How can you continue to keep your practice safe? Organizing tools? Labeling spell components? Keeping candles, lighters and matches in safe places? Fire safe tools and equipment? Practically keeping things where they belong? Think hard and see if you can find new ones to make your practice safe!
Practical - Do the thing! - Make your practice safe. Get organized, find that fire safe dish, get stickers and label things. Find a way to do it, and do it!
Friday - Staying Organized
Research - What are ways you can stay organized in your continued quest for knowledge? Setting aside specific time for study? Making sure you have things where you need them? Getting yourself a specific table, bag or shelf for your study materials? Find ways to keep yourself organized in your studies in the coming year.
Planning - Set aside time each week, if not each day, even if only for an hour or a few minutes, that is devoted to learning. To nothing but taking in and recording information. About asking questions and finding answers. Keep to a loose or rigid schedule, but a schedule of some kind.
Well that's it for the challenge folks! Keep chugging along in your studies, never stop questioning, never stop learning, never stop using your discernment, and never get discouraged if you can't find an answer immediately! It has been a pleasure hosting this challenge for the 2024 year and hope that you all enjoyed and will continue to enjoy and utilize this blog as a resource!
Here's to a Happy and Productive, Insightful and Fulfilling New Year!

Bonus Prompt: Magical Salts and Waters
Today’s bonus prompt is on magical salts and magical waters.
Magical Salts
You will see in books and on this site as well as others the idea of magical salt mixtures. It is the same basic idea as herbal salts in cooking, but used for magical purposes instead of culinary.
So let’s define them. What are magical salts? What are their purposes? How are they made? How do you store them? How do you actively use them? How do you passively use them? How do you charge them? Where did they come from? Historically, who used them? What are their correspondences?
Magical Waters
Similarly, you will see a plethora of magical waters. These come from different sources, different methods and different uses. Ask yourself the same questions as we did for the salts, but focused on magical waters. (Moon water, sun water, etc)
Good luck and happy crafting witches!

December Week 4: Looking Back
We have only two weeks left of the challenge! What a haul it has been, but also what fun! This week we're going to focus on looking back at, and digging deeper into some of our earliest prompts. To see how far we've come, how we've changed, how we've grown and what if any of our goals we have achieved!
Monday - Growth
Introspection - Rules, Morals, Philosophies - Look back at your work from January. The rules, morals and philosophies you thought about at the beginning of the year, where you stood on these things, have any of your thoughts and beliefs on these topics changed? Have these beliefs grown? What more have you learned about yourself in these respects?
Research - What are the opposing ideas to some of your morals and philosophies? What are the key points that make you stand against or opposed to these? Why do you stand where you stand on these topics? The reasons behind your beliefs.
Practical - Perform a spell or ritual for the coming year. Set some goals and intentions, renew your dedication to your craft and path, anything you feel would be helpful to perform going into the new year.
Journal - How do you feel this year? How do you feel this time of year? How have you changed and grown? What have you learned? What goals have you accomplished? Where do you stand, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually right now compared to the beginning of the year?
Tuesday - Elements and Energies
Introspection - Where has your connection to the elements gone this year? And the energies you work with, whether they be natural, divine, or otherwise? How has this connection grown? What more have you learned? Has the knowledge you've gained this year changed the way you view the elements and energies you work with? Do you work with them differently than you did at the beginning of the year?
Research - What more do you have to learn, or aim to learn about the elements and energies you work with? Are there avenues of knowledge about them you haven't touched on yet? Are there connections between them you have yet to devote time to really thinking about? Are there new elements and energies you intend to look into?
Practical - Pick one, or all of the elements (or the energies and their sources that you work with) to connect to individually. Perform a small spell or ritual to connect yourself to it, to swim within its presence, to broaden your understanding of it. Start to finish, work it out in your lab notebook.
Journal - Look back at the working you did and journal about the experience.
Wednesday - Symbols, Traditions, Ancestry
Introspection - How has your understanding of the common (and even the uncommon) symbols within your practice and witchcraft in general changed this year? What have you learned about their meanings and history? What about their uses? Same goes for traditions, both in your practice and those in witchcraft at large. How has your understanding and practice of these traditions grown and changed this year? How about your ancestry? What have you learned about your ancestry? How has your knowledge about your own genealogy and practices/ traditions changed?
Research - Are there aspects of your ancestry you have yet to delve into? What about the symbols you are familiar with? Are there symbols you have yet to look into the history and practicality of? The uses? And the same goes for traditions. Have you kept up on yours? Have you made new ones? What are the purposes of these traditions?
Practical - Work another spell for the coming year! Work through it in your lab notebook so you can look back at it and reuse it or change it as need be!
Journal - How do you feel about your ancestry? About their traditions and practices, even if they've got nothing to do with your craft and practice. Have your feelings changed since earlier in the year, after you learned more about these things?
Thursday - Astrology, Divination, Dreams
Introspection - With what you've learned of astrology, dream work and divination, how do they fit into your craft and practice now as opposed to earlier in the year? Are you more familiar with these things? How do you connect to astrology? What about divination? Dream work? What do these mean to you now, as opposed to earlier?
Research - Are there aspects of astrology you haven't touched on yet? Parts of it you haven't delved into? What about divination? Are there methods or tools you don't know much about yet? What do you know about dreams? What they are, how they work, what they mean? Compare what you already knew with what you learned, and look at what you have left to learn.
Practical - Perform some divination! Ask yourself some questions to lead you into the new year and record the answers from whatever medium you use.
Journal - If you have dreams, record them in your journal. Then look into what, if any, deeper meaning they might have.
Friday - Crystals and Herbs
Introspection - Where does your knowledge of crystals and hers stand now, compared to earlier in the year. What kinds of things have you learned about plants and crystals that you didn't know? Some of their uses, both magical and mundane. Where they came from. How they are related to myths and legends.
Research - Herbal study and Stone Study - Pick an herb from your list as well as a crystal. Make a page for each and learn everything you can about them. Where they came from, myths and legends about them, practical uses, medicinal and culinary uses, chemical makeup and how the crystals are formed. Everything!
Practical - Get crafty! Make your pages pretty and practical! Add color, paper, notes, pictures, stickers, anything!
Journal - This journal entry is about goals for your grimoire. Where do you plan for it to go in the future? What do you intend to add to it? How do you intend to change it?
Good luck and Happy Crafting Witches!

Yule
This time of year holds a plethora of holidays the world over. From Yule, to Saturnalia, to Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and of course Christmas! Everyone celebrates differently, even if there are a lot of similarities in beliefs and practices. So let's start by taking notes and making a page for this holiday, whatever it is you celebrate!
Tumblr Prompts
A bit about Yule
Yule Goat Ornament
Winter Witchcraft
Yule & Winter Solstice
Yule Resources
Celebrate Yule
Other Websites
Wikipedia
Celtic Connection
Goddess and Greenman
Learn Religions
History
What is Yule? When is it? How is it traditionally celebrated? What are its spiritual associations? Magical associations? Animals, gems, herbs, foods, beliefs and traditions? What are the activities you can do to celebrate the season? What kinds of spells, magic and rituals are generally performed this time of year?
Make it your own!
Now, given all the information you’ve gathered, make your own small ritual to be performed on Yule. To do this, I suggest a scrap paper to brainstorm on. Here’s some things to keep in mind and help write out your ritual.
What is the theme/ purpose of the ritual? (Healing ritual? Cleansing? Renewal of intentions? Welcoming the light?)
What are the tools you’ll use and what is the purpose/ association it has? (candles, athame/ sacred blade, incense, gemstones etc)
What power(s) are you calling upon for the ritual and why? (elements, deities, sun/ moon, personal power, etc)
How do you set it up? Is there specific placement of the tools? Direction to face when calling the above powers? Do you cast a circle? Or do you simply light a candle and bow your head in a moment of silent prayer/ meditation?
Good luck and happy crafting witches!

December Week 3: Magic and Medicine, Revisiting and Creating Traditions, Spell and Ritual Timing
With the onset of the colder months (at least here in the U.S.) sicknesses are again running rampant. So this week we are focusing on magic with medicine. In addition to that, with the holiday season here, we’re going to revisit a conversation on traditions and look at creating new ones. Lastly we will look at how to time spell work according to various methodologies. Let’s jump in!
Monday - Magic and Medicine, not Magic vs Medicine
*Disclaimer - Never replace prescribed medications with anything without consulting your doctor first. Do not substitute a prescription with an herbal remedy, with magic or with anything else unless you have talked to your doctor about it first*
Research - There are plenty of ways to supplement our prescribed medications. With exercise and dietary changes, with herbal supplements and vitamins, with meditation and mindfulness, even with magic. But one should never outright replace medications with anything. What are some ways that we can use magic to supplement our medical regiment? Enchanting pill bottles for reminding us to take our meds? Aligning spell work with certain physical exercises? Look into ways that you can do this, even if you don’t have prescriptions but are on a vitamin regiment or other health supplement schedule.
Research - What are the dangers of changing your medical routine without consulting your doctor? What reasons are there to avoid changes to a prescription’s schedule? I promise there are fewer benefits to substituting anything for medicine than there are negative side effects. Look into these and keep in mind the importance of hydration, a healthy diet and medicating yourself properly.
Tuesday - Revisiting Traditions
Introspection/ Research - with the holidays drawing close, traditions new and old are all around us, even if we don’t realize it. Think about the foods you cook this time of year. Think about the activities you do this time of year. The people you see this time of year. What are the traditions you hold to during the colder months and holiday season? Now think about the calendar year at large, what are some of the traditions you perform around the rest of the year? Look back at our previous visit and research on this topic and try to expand upon it!
Research - herbal study - pick another herb from your list and study all you can about it! Magical and mundane uses and associations. Culinary uses, medicinal uses, history and growth cycles. Everything!!
Wednesday - Creating Traditions
Research/ Practical - are there any traditions you’ve wanted to start but haven’t? Any activities you’ve wanted to start doing, and then continue doing, specific to this time of year? (Or any other time of year). Look into these activities, no matter what they are. What items do you need to do them, if any? When do you need to do them? How do you perform them? What is the purpose and meaning behind it? Then after you have researched, do it! You can start a new tradition at any time. So there is no better time than now!
Journal - how did you feel after starting and performing this new traditions? Do you think it will be easy or difficult to continue this tradition? Who else was a part of it? Ask them how they felt about it.
Thursday - Spell Timing
Research/ New Page - How does one time their spell and ritual work? Is it according to moon phase? The weather? Day of the week? Planetary alignment? Or is it on a whim? Is there any regiment or timing to your spell and ritual work? If so, what is it? How do you determine when to do your spell work? What are some of the various methods others use to time out their workings? Where, when and how did these originate? Learn as much as you can!
Research - gem study - pick another gem from your list and learn all you can about it! Magical and mundane associations and uses. Chemical make up. Practical uses. Coloration variations. Everything!
Friday - fun prompts
Practical - work on making one of your pages! Add stickers, doodles, scrap paper, extra notes, decorations of any kind!
Practical - Do a spell or ritual! Pick one from your own spell book, or find a new one, or even write a new one! (If you do make a new one, work through it in your lab notebook so you can edit and rearrange and remake it as need be!)
Journal - take some time to do a bit of journaling. Dream journaling or normal journaling, any kind really. But do some deep thinking about your state of mind, your emotions, your physical and spiritual health all at once. Ask yourself some deep questions. If you’re struggling with journaling, look for some journal prompts online!
Whew! Thank you for following this week! And every week! We’re close to the end of the challenge and I realize none of my queued bonus prompts have been posting. So be prepared for an onslaught of them the next couple of weeks!thank you all for your continued support!
Good luck and happy crafting witches!

December Week 2- Utilizing What You Have
This week is all about what we will call “poor man’s witchcraft” or “witchcraft on a budget”! Utilizing what we have readily and freely available to us outside in our craft! Let’s jump in!
Monday - What’s in the cupboard?
Research - look in your cupboard and pantry! What are the herbs and spices and food and drinks you have readily available to you? How can you utilize what you have already for apellwork and rituals? We’ve learned a fair bit about various kinds of magic and a decent amount of herbs in our research, so put that knowledge to use!
Research/ new page - herbal study - pick another herb from your list and research as much about it as you can. Magical associations and uses, culinary uses, chemical makeup, how to grow it, myths and legends, everything!
Tuesday - Snow, rain, ice and more
Research - how can we utilize things like rain, ice and snow into our craft? What ways can water be used? Are there different types and ways to use them? What about ice? How does it play a part in witchcraft? How can it be used in spells and rituals? And the same for snow! How can it be used? What are the associations of these naturally occurring tools we can use?
Research/ new page - gem study - pick another herb gemstone and learn everything you can about it. Chemical makeup, where it comes from, its history and practical/ mundane uses, what stories myths and legends it appears in. What are its associations?
Wednesday - What’s in the yard?
Research - historically, and culturally, witches have used what was available to them for their craft. What things are available to you? Stones, pinecones, nuts, leaves, twigs, weeds and flowers? What lies just outside your door that you can utilize for your craft? If you don’t know what something is, what type of tree or plant, look it up! Learn how to use what you have available, since not everyone can get to a fancy witch shop for tools and spell ingredients.
Practical - once you’ve discovered what’s in your yard, use some of these things for a spell or ritual. What is the ritual for? What are the ingredients and their associations and purpose within the spell? What are the steps? Record it all in your lab notebook so that you can look back at it and change or update it as need be if you ever repeat it. Journal the experience after!
Thursday - Tools?
Research - what fancy tools have you learned about that you don’t have available to you? What did you use in place of those tools? Did they work just as well in serving the desired purpose? What other tools have you learned of that you don’t have that you’ve had to substitute other things for? How do you feel it affected your working, if at all? Did they serve the purposes? Are the desired tools just for aesthetic, or is there a deeper meaning and purpose in what you’re missing that you had to substitute?
Friday - Rest/ Catch up day
Use today to rest and catch up on other prompts or to decorate a page and make it more to your liking!
Thank you all! Only a couple of weeks left until the end of the year and the challenge!

You will hear about liminal spaces and “the crossroads” a lot in many witchcraft circles. But what are these things?
Make a new page for Likinal Spaces and Crossroads. What are the literal definitions of these two things? How do those definitions translate into witchcraft? What do these things represent in the mundane sense? In the magical sense? What are associations for them? What myths and legends are there involving these things? Are there historical instances of these things in witchcraft? Pop culture examples? How can/ do you apply these idea to your craft?

December Week 1 - Shadow work, Discernment, Synchronism, and seasonal depression
Welcome welcome to the final month of the 2024 Grimoire Chellenge!! It has been such a fantastic year full of fun prompts, but we’re not quite done yet! All the leftover prompts will be added to the weeks this month as bonus prompts. This week is going to involve a great deal of practical prompts in preparation for the new year ahead and to close up the year behind us. So let’s dive in!
Monday - Shadow Work/ Self Reflection and Growth
Terms to look up: shadow work, introspection, self reflection (any other terms you find while researching the terms above)
Research/ New Page - Shadow Work - you probably hear a lot about shadow work in reference to witchy/ pagan introspection. It isn’t inherently a part of witchcraft or pagan beliefs or practices, though it can certainly be a good tool to finding balance within oneself no matter your path and practice. What is shadow work? Where did it come from? Who coined the term? How does it work? What are some methods and tools involved in shadow work! How and when and why do we do it, if we do?
Research/ new page - what are some other forms of introspection we can use to help us look back at life and the lessons we have learned, no matter how old those lessons and memories are? Learn as much about as many of them as possible!
Tuesday - Discernment, Synchronism, Sorting myth and conjecture from truth
Terms to look up - discernment, synchronism
Research - there are many myths and claims that Christians ‘stole’ practices from pagans and witches and vice versa. They come generally around the largely followed holiday calendar some witches and pagans follow but also boil down to general practices as well. What are some of these? Are there some you’re familiar with already? In researching these or even other topics through the year already have you come across any of these? What are they? How can we discern why these beliefs and practices are so similar? Where and how does syncretism come into play here?
Research/ New Page - Herbal Research - pick another herb from your list and learn all that you can about it! Metaphysical, mundane, practical, culinary, medicinal, myths and legends, history….everything!!
Wednesday - Journaling for learning and introspection
Research - so we have been journaling alongside many of the prompts all year. Why is that? What is the purpose of this journaling? What is the purpose of journaling in general? How can we use journaling as a tool for self exploration, introspection, and growth? If you haven’t got a journal to go along with the prompts, think about investing in one for your general practice!
Research - now that you’ve looked into what journaling is and what it is for, what are some different methods and types of journaling? Do these require any specific tools beyond a book and pencil? What are the benefits of utilizing these different journaling methods?
Thursday - Craft Day!
Today’s prompt is practical and hands on. It’s the season of festivities and decorating. Some of us simply buy our ornaments which is absolutely fine. But today, we’re going to MAKE an ornament! Anything from twigs in the shape of a tube, to a witches ball to hang on the tree, a witches bell to hang anywhere or a decorated pine cone! Anything you feel like making to help get you into the festive season ahead of us!
Practical - along with the making of a decoration, let’s make something to eat! There’s plenty of recipes floating around tumblr and endless recipes on the internet at large, or maybe you’ve got a cookbook or one special recipe you’ve been saving. Today’s the day! Gather your ingredients and get to cooking! Feel free to share your meal or snack in picture submission and share the recipe if you’re up for it!
Friday - Seasonal Big Sad
Research - if you’re like me you may experience the big sad this time of year. Seasonal depression can hit anyone, but especially rears its head this time of year. What are some ways to handle and cope with our seasonal depression? Vitamins? Sun lamps? Exercise? Look into how to handle your own seasonal depression as well as ways to help others!
Research / new page - Gem study - pick another gemstone from your list and research everything about it! History, myth, mundane and magical uses and associations, chemical makeup and how it’s formed!
Whew! Another week down! Thank you all for your continued support and participation! Stay tuned for a plethora of bonus prompts all month long!

November Week 4 - Turning Magic Back
This week is all about magical defense as well as magical offense. Reflecting, negating, nullifying, diluting, whatever words and methods you’d like to refer to, in order to take magic or energy sent toward you and defeat it or send it back. Let’s dive in.
Monday - Breaking Curses
Research/ new page - we looked at what curses were before and you probably found some info on how to break them. But now we’re going to focus on that topic. What are some methods to break curses on you or others? What items/ tools are required to break curses? What kinds of energies and strengths and weaknesses are involved in breaking curses? Look at history, are there any historical instances of breaking curses? Generational or otherwise? Learn as much as possible!
Research/ New Page - Gem study - pick another gem from your list and learn everything you can about it! Where it comes from? It’s history, it’s chemical makeup, how it is mined, what it is used for, any myths or legends surrounding it! Everything!
Tuesday - Reversing Spells
Research/ New Page - how does one reverse a spell they have cast? How does one reverse a spell cast by another? What are the methods and tools to do so? When and where can you do so? Why do you reverse spells that either you have cast or someone else has? Look as deep into this as you can!
Research/ New Page - herbal study - pick another herb from your list and learn everything you can about it! Magical, mundane, medicinal, culinary and practical uses and associations! History and chemical makeup! Everything!
Wednesday - Breaking / Undoing Spells
Research/ New Page - sometimes reversing isn’t necessary. Sometimes we have to break it, or undo it. How does one do this? What tools and methods are there for doing so? When where and why does one do this as opposed to reversing one? And what is the difference (if there is one, in your opinion and point of view). Learn as much as you can!
Practical/ Journal - if there is a piece of magic or spell you’ve done in the past that you feel is still working, but it doesn’t need to be, why not try undoing it? Work out the process and tools in your lab notebook, down to the details of the day, then journal the experience so you can look back and reflect on your method and your feelings surrounding this prompt!
Thursday - Hot Takes
Ask any three witches the same question and get four different answers. What are some witchy hot takes you’re aware of? (There are plenty here on tumblr, search the tag lol) are there some you weren’t aware of? Make a list of these hot takes, then on a separate sheet of paper or in your lab notebook or your journal, work through each one and flesh out your stance on the hot takes. It’s a practice in self knowledge and introspection that may help you better understand your craft and yourself!
Friday - Catch Up Day/ Rest Day
Utilize today to catch up on any prompts or workings or grumpier detailing you’d like to! Hydrate, eat, take your meds and rest!
Only one month left till the end of the challenge! I’ll be sharing some images of my (once again) redone grimoire. The fancy one id been working on for the past five years got lost then damaged in my recent move. So I’ve had the fun of working through a lot of these prompts with you all! Thank you again for your support for this page!

November Week 2: On dealing with family, witchcraft and politics, the importance of secrecy and privacy, and the storage of witchy tools.
With the holiday season approaching, many of us, whether we celebrate at all or not, will possibly be spending time with family and friends. At least here in the US, given the current political climate, this could prove rather challenging. This weeks prompts will focus on the how to navigate our world going forward, dealing with our family members who likely don’t know or don’t agree with our practices, beliefs and political points of view. The secrecy and privacy we desire and sometimes require. And lastly how to hide (and more importantly properly store) our witchy tools.
Monday- On dealing with family and holidays
Introspection/ practical - we all generally have family that we get along with. And family that we don’t. Given the state of things in the US right now, some of these tensions are extremely high. What are some ways you have dealt with those difficult family members in the past? What are some ways you can avoid dramatics in the future? Think hard about things you can do (or not do) and things you can say (or avoid saying) to keep from getting sucked into the dramatics of it all. Then, of course, put this into practice. Those being mundane, non magical ways. Then think about ways you can subtly (or not, depending on your situation) protect yourself magically or spiritually from the same things and situations.
Journal - before the holidays, journal about the above. What you’ve done to protect yourself and how you feel. Then again after the holidays, do the same and keep a record of your experience this year. What was said and done and by whom.
Tuesday - Politics
Introspection- Is witchcraft political? Is YOUR witchcraft political? How does one influence the other? If they even do? Think broadly and think minutely. What are some laws in your area that might have sway on your craft, both public and private? What are some laws you’ve heard might be passed in the coming days? What groups and safety nets and communities are around you? Our world, particularly in the US right now, is extremely politically charged.
New page/ research - pick another herb from your list! Learn everything about it, magical and mundane. How it grows. The chemicals in it. Medicinal and culinary uses. It’s history and practical uses.
Wednesday - Secrecy and Privacy
Sometimes privacy is best when it comes to practicing witchcraft. Secrecy as well. What is the difference between secrecy and privacy? How private/ secretive is your practice?
Research - what are some ways to effectively keep your practice private and secret? What are subtle ways to still be “open” with your practice without outright saying “hey I’m a witch!” Do you even need to be secretive or private? For some of us, this is the difference between a calm and safe home life, and utter chaos.
Practical -Spell - find or make a spell to keep your practice and beliefs safe, and secret. Whatever it is, work it out in your lab notebook so you can revisit it and journal the experience so you can reflect on it that way as well!
Thursday - Proper Storage
Research - whether it’s plants, candles, crystals or our tools and decorations, there tends to be a proper way to store them to keep them and you safe. What are some of the ways to best store plants? Crystals? Incense? Candles? Other tools? Decorations? There is such a wide variety of these things and it is important to know how to properly handle them as well as store them.
Research/ new page - gem study - pick another gemstone from your list and learn everything about it! Where it comes from, what its associations are, what its practical and mundane uses are as well as its magical associations and uses!
Friday - rest day
For some of us the holidays are stressful in themselves. Take time to rest and prepare yourself for everything you are going to be dealing with the next couple of months. Hydrate. Take your meds. Eat. And rest.
Woo! Another week in the books! Thank you all for your continued support!

Bonus Prompt - Superstitions
You don't have to make a full page for this, though you most certainly can. At the very least, it would be a good idea to take notes or journal about this topic as a form of introspection and self understanding.
Define superstitions. What are they?
What are some of your personal superstitions? What are some of your family superstitions? Some your friends have? Who instilled them in you? What do they mean? How do they work? Look into the history of these superstitions and where they came from? What do they mean to you?
