So since Fishfolk and Merfolk can have children with other races, do you think those offspring have both gills and lungs the way their fishy ancestors do? Cause we see with Dellinger has a dorsal fin, horns, and sharp teeth while Chimney looks human. Is it just that Fishfolk/Merfolk traits are just recessive?
Oh! The difference between Dellinger and Chimney is that Dellinger is 1/2 Fishman and Chimney is 1/4 Mermaid.
Chimney looks almost human cause she IS almost human.
But yes, it's likely that 1/2 Fishman & 1/2 mermaids have traits we don't think of off hand

Hey, think you could take a gander at the tectonic plates in one piece? Whats it gotta be like, to have one massive landmass? I figure there are a lot of volcanic hotspots and thats how most of the islands were formed, but what do you think?
I feel like the tectonic plates don’t really move around much on the planet. I looked into the science behind it, and it appears that Mercury only has one plate - which very well could be what the planet of One Piece has.
with all the islands, the internal structure of the planet is probably pretty active (especially if we take Film Z into account.) The tectonic plate(s?) just might not move around much.
I will likely come back to this topic.

theres an episode of behind the bastards about the freebirth movement (its a good episode but not recommended if youre bothered by... anything, really) and one of the stories they talked about involved a mom keeping her baby in well past 40wks (but still far less than rouge's 80+) because she didn't want to induce labor and to make a grisly story marginally less so the mom is fine but the baby..... isn't
I uh. I think I will personally avoid that. Anyone else is welcome to watch it but I don't think I will be.

Do you think that in the real world a woman could keep her baby in the womb for 20 months like Rouge?
Absolutely not.
In the real world, if a person having a baby gets too close to their expectation date, doctors start getting antsy. Doctors will induce the pregnant person’s labor to prevent the pregnancy from going on too long because it causes A Lot Of Trouble if they don’t.
10 months is on the outside
They’d be dead long before 20 months because the baby doesn’t stop growing just because they’re still in the parent’s uterus.

So fish poop from the base of their tail right. So. Do bifuricated mermaids poop from their feet
Highly unlikely.
Fish actually poop from a cloaca like opening that’s not really so much the base of their tail as the point between the final set of fins, which would have evolved into legs and limbs.
So bifurcated mermaids would poop from between their legs.

Would law's gamma knife work at all on luffy?
I'd imagine so. It's a knife (albeit one made of energy) and Luffy has proven not to be immune to knives.
His internal organs would get kind of shredded, because that's what it was supposed to do to Doflamingo in the first place.

How mermaid poops really intrigued me honestly.. wont it float in all that water tho..? Somehow thinking abt poops in fishman island gave me a shudder
fish poop usually sinks, to my experience*
Also, anon, if that gives you a shudder don’t contemplate what real life bodies of water have in them :)
*i pretty much always had fish growing up

How do mermaids poop?
I feel like saying “like a fish does” would ruin the mystique of mermaids but uh
like a fish. And fish kind of poop like we do so. kind of sort of like we do but not?
I am not a poop scientist.

Have you talked about how Luffy does not appear to obey the Law of Conservation of Mass? He just keeps stretching but doesn't get any smaller...
He doesn’t exactly obey the law of conservation of mass, no. It’s. excessive. Not the worst transgressor, by any means (kaido) but still bad.
Usually when you stretch out rubber or elastic it gets thinner. Luffy doesn’t.
My only thought is that Luffy is just exceptionally dense for his size.

Where are the organs in the females in the One piece world and how do their bodies work
You know I was wondering when I was going to get this question.
Stored in everything EXCEPT where insides should be. Thighs, chest, upper ribcage.
Magic. Their bodies work by magic

In regards to the last ask about bursting hearts - what about once Law's got the heart out? Like, if you WERE just holding a heart, would you be able to squeeze it hard enough to pop it? Or are they tougher than that?
Hearts are surprisingly tough! They’re a muscle. A dense muscle that’s actually pretty tasty.
Unless you have a really strong grip, then no, I don’t think you’d be able to squeeze a heart enough to pop it.

heya! love the premise of this blog, i think it's so fun! i hope this is the place to bring a question like this, but in terms of the hearts that law takes out of people with his powers, is it actually... possible to burst a heart with regular human hand strength?
Awww, thank you!
As for your question - Not really? The ribs are the biggest issue to get past.
So with tools, yes, because that’s kind of how we do stuff like open-heart surgeries.
Without, likely not without a serious adrenaline burst and even then, go under the ribs through the gut rather than straight through the ribcage.

Do you also do planet animal science? Really want to know what the deal with soleme, I think that's it's name, Boa's snake. That thing can carry Boa's weight, the heels and it can move like it doesn't have a 7 ft tall woman on its back could a real snake even do that? Besides the titanaboa, like those huge ass boas from the Amazônia
I do!
And I would think Salome could. The current largest snakes in the world, Green Anacondas, are surprisingly fast and typically eat meals larger than Hancock is, so I don’t see why Salome couldn’t carry her around like she’s nothing.

I forgot to mention this initially but flintlocks use musket balls. Musket balls are literally just. lead balls.
Hi - I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is it true that post-Timeskip the OP verse now has guns with rifled barrels? Possibly even modern-day pointy bullets?
Ehhhh? Not really? almost all of the guns in OP are based on the flintlock, so even if there is rifling, its still in essence, an extra-long flint lock.
As for the bullets, never that I’ve noticed, but I also don’t watch the anime.
Baby 5 is a living weapon, though. Literally. She can turn into weapons.

Every so often I feel like I should make mention that I haven’t watched any of the anime past Marineford (and none in the last five years) and also i skipped a lot of the filler arcs
all this to say I’m primarily working off the manga
