For her birthday, Infanta Sofía was given a new honour: the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic.

The Order of Isabella the Catholic is the third of the three preeminent Spanish orders. It is granted in recognition of services that benefit the country. It has also traditionally been granted to the "spares".

Infanta Sofía of Spain turned 18 on April 29th 2025. For her birthday, five official portraits were released - all taken in the gardens of Zarzuela Palace.

The five photos show Sofía in her family home, wearing a pale blue blouse and navy trousers. The photos are similar, and mostly show Sofía smiling towards the camera.

The Order of the Elephant is Denmark's highest-ranked honour and has officially existed since 1693, although it began much earlier. The order has only ever been given to royals or foreign Heads of State. The order is worn on a blue sash that extends from the left shoulder to the right hip.

Princess Isabella of Denmark turned 18 on April 21st 2025. One of the three official gala portraits taken by Steen Evald in the Great Hall of Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg for her birthday bears a striking resemblance to the first gala photos taken of her mother, then-Crown Princess Mary!

Princess Isabella of Denmark turned 18 on April 21st 2025. For her birthday, three official gala portraits were released - all taken by Steen Evald in the Great Hall of Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg.

For her birthday, Princess Ariane was given two honours: Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands and Knight of the Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau.

The Order of the Netherlands Lion is a Dutch order of chivalry. The highest rank - Knight Grand Cross - is reserved for members of the Royal Family, foreign Heads of State and some former prime ministers, ministers and cardinals. The Order comes with a sash and badge, and a star.

The Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau is a chivalric order shared by the two branches of the House of Nassau - the Dutch royal family and the Grand Ducal Luxembourg family. Children of the monarchs of Luxembourg and the Netherlands are entitled to receive the honour on their 18th birthday. Like the Order of the Netherlands Lion, the Order comes with a sash and badge, and a star.
