Mengo's art is pretty but it's too overhyped imo.

I think the way they Live action Oshi No ko did the way they adapted the story is Better than the actual Manga itself, cause they actually made the characters realistic and relatable, spoilers ahead, we actually got to witness ai's struggles of being a mother and her childhood and her fear of being a bad mother, Aqua and akane actually having a relationship that doesn't feel cold like it did in the Manga and Ruby not simping over aqua when she learned he was goro. Hello why can't we had that instead of the way she acted in the Manga, also they changed the kiss scene and the ending which Is so well written in my opinion really makes you realize they knew how to adapt this story right and they did it better than the actual source material.
Oshi no ko Live action >>>>> ONK Manga

I’m an anime only fan and based on the things I’ve seen in just the first 2 seasons, I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of attention and usage for Ruby. I get Aqua is the driving force for the revenge plot, arguably the most important plot in the show. But I still want some stuff for Ruby. Like, in season 2 when she went to the rehearsals and learns that Aqua had already left and she went to the bathroom inside, we then see that one bad actor guy start getting harassed. I was fully expecting Ruby to come out of the bathroom and defending him. But… no. Idk, man, I just wish Ruby had more going for her than just ‘working to be an idol’. And she technically does, with her past life’s history, but the show just never acknowledges her trauma. Only Aqua’s :(

Akane should have gotten a villain-esque arc of sorts after she and Aqua broke up. She should have acted in a movie with B-Komachi and Aqua, but have that darkness and pressure she’s so known for be amplified, resulting in her coming off in a similar manner to Dark Star Ai

Let’s be real, no relationship with Aqua was particularly well written. The best was Akane’s sheerly because there was more time with the two together

i remember seeing a textpost somewhere like "what are bisexuals meant to do when their girl crush and boy crush start dating??" and realised that is just kana's experience.
offtopic but all the onk girls are either bisexual or aromantic like will it kill y'all to be attracted to one gender?

Oshi no Ko should have been longer. We should have an arc focusing on Ruby’s idol career, meeting other singers and musicians, learning about why they do what they do, and growing into her own. She also should have had an arc about letting go of her past and coming into her own, like letting go of Gorou

so i only watched the 2 seasons currently out and read the last chapters out of curiosity when I heard they sucked massive ass (+few metas and random pages of the wiki) but why does no one like my guy taiki. I'm seeing nothing on him nobody cares. I feel so bad for him. he's my pookie
(I'll be honest I'm also a bit biased because he's voiced by koki uchiyama and I REALLY like the guy)

i started shipping kanakane in s1 (between ep9 and ep10 iirc) as a joke but then i read fanfiction to brainwash myself into unironically liking the ship.

i actually found the ch123 situation kind of funny and o love how it drew attention to onk again. I also think the ch123 situation was when kanakane began getting popular.

I liked the ending. Aqua was dumb but thats nothing new from the Twins, so I'm not surprised. The End itself felt fitting for the Manga and it all was a big improvement to the Movie arc itself. My ONK friends think the same, so seeing everyone rage on Tumblr is always so weird to me. Not that I judge anyone, it's just interesting how different people see the End.

Sometimes I cry because it feels like there is no universe and no amount of lifetimes in which the little Hoshino family gets to live normal, long lives together unmarred by huge tragedies. If I was a millionaire I would attempt to bribe Aka and Mengo with huge sums of money to give me a happy spinoff manga where drama is allowed only if it mostly works out in the end.

My biggest gripe with the ending is the glorification of suicide & not adjusting it as such. I would've been okay with the ending if it was addressed properly, for us as readers to mourn Aqua and recognise his suicidal ideation from earlier in the story. But no, Aka gave us a whole chapter where he was screaming about not wanting to die, as if that makes it not a suicide, then have AKANE, who was talked off the ledge in her introductory chapter, tell us how perfectly executed Aqua's plan was & explicitly say "Aqua doesn't want to die he just did it because he chose the noble path of protecting his sister."
It was awful, I feel like I don't get to mourn the character in a way I'm supposed to. I had to see Akane monologue about how Aqua's death was selfless & wonder, compared to what? Compared to how Akane's arc in love now? Is suicide okay as long as you're not doing it for yourself? It just left such a bad taste in my mouth.
