"No thanks, bitch." she climbed back up with a scowl on her face. She looked over at the gaping wound on her wrist, a side effect of landing on a piece of glass. "thanks." she said sarcastically, grabbing a bottle from her bag and taking a swig, then watching the wound heal until it was just a scar.
"bye." she said, walking away.

❝I wasn’t giving you a choice.❞
With a flick of her wrist, Lenore knocked Ava to the ground.

"Sorry, you're lousy company, I'm bored. bye." Ava shouted over her shoulder, still walking away.

❝Used to it,❞ Lenore muttered, frantically trying to put out the fire.
After successfully extinguishing herself, she called out to Ava.
❝Hey, get back here! I’m not through with you.❞

"You're cute." Ava said, smiling lightly. "By the way," she said as she dragged her finger along the collar of the other girl's dress. "You're on fire."
she strolled away, the strong smell of smoke in the air.

Lenore threw her hands up in the air.
❝Hey, I’m a d e m o n, threatening people is what we do.❞
She paused for a moment.
❝And yeah, I know. I’ve killed my fair share of witches, they’re nasty, disgusting creatures.
No offense.❞

"I'm sorry, I must've misheard you, I thought you were threatening me. Wouldn't that be cute?" Ava said, laughing lightly, her voice edgier than usual. "I would recommend you watch yourself, dear." she said, looking at her with a smirk.
"Witches are bitches when you piss us off." she said, batting her eyelashes. "don't make that mistake."

❝It’s the attitude. Every witch I’ve ever met had an attitude.❞
Lenore smiled.
❝If you like being alive, you should probably drop yours. Just a warning.❞

"I figured you'd get it." Ava said, stopping and turning around. "I wasn't exactly hiding it, but how did you guess? the whole psychic paranormal radar thing isn't exactly a regular witch power, I only have it because of my heritage. How did you know?" She asked, tilting her head curiously.

Lenore smiled at herself, finally figuring it out.
❝You’re a witch! Damn, I should’ve known.❞

"I thought someone like you would've caught on." Ava said, smirking. "If you haven't figured it out, think it over. I'm sure you can if you try hard enough." she said, starting to walk away.

Lenore let out a deep sigh.
❝Fine, you caught me,❞ she said, looking around cautiously,
❝I’m a demon, okay? What are you?❞

"Maybe I'm crazy, but maybe I'm not. What the hell are you. And please, take a step back." She said, pulling herself to her feet.

❝What? Are you insane or something?❞

Ava hesitantly took it, then let go immediately, moving away from her. "What are you?" She asked, trying to hide her nerves.

Lenore glanced down and smirked.
❝It’s totally okay,❞ she said, faking a happy tone. She extended a hand out to the woman.
❝Here, let me help you up.❞

Ava quickened her pace, looking over her shoulder as she hurried down the dark street. The snow landing on her back sent shivers down her spine, which only fed the paranoia. as she checked over her shoulder again, she walked into someone, falling down onto her ass.
"Sorry." she said quietly, looking up to see who it was.

"Asher, huh? I think I've heard that name before. History class or something. It was about... uh... Oh! Town founders! Are you related to them?"

Tessa stared at her blankly, and then shook her hand. “Tessa Asher. Nice to meet you.”

"Sorry, I'm such a klutz, it's a huge problem." Ava apologized, picking her bag off of the ground quickly. "I'm Ava Marin." She said, extending her hand to shake the other woman's.

"Of course you didn’t," Tessa scoffed, then turned to look at the girl. Smiling, she changed her mind. "Hey, it’s okay."
