Some facts about Ko Ji Yong (Sechskies)

Ji Yong looked after his mom when he was little, but as he grew up he resembled his dad more. That’s what he heard from people around him. He definitely got his double eyelids from his mom and his high nose bridge from his dad (Btw his mom was a pretty lady back then).

When Ji Yong was little, he was such a mischievous, active and outgoing boy. He got a lot of energy and it was hard for him to stay still. When he was in preschool, he was even seen as a tough and malicious boy. However, his personality slowly changed when he went to middle school, becoming shyer and quieter. He then wasn’t as active and energetic as he used to be.

But he was still bubbly as a Sechskies member.

He’s got a sister who is two years older than him. Both of them were very stubborn and aggressive towards each other back then. When they fought with each other, they wouldn’t stop until one of them screamed. They did fight a lot and just stopped when Ji Yong became a part of Sechskies. Basically, they all grew up and got busier and rarely saw each other so they didn’t have any chances for fights.

In 10th grade, he once skipped school and went to an arcade but unfortunately got caught by his school’s vice principal. This made him embarrassed when recalling.

He was a hard-working student and did value study. Ji Yong was a class as well as school president during his elementary-school days (except for 5th grade) so he forced himself to be an exemplary student (but this couldn’t stop him from being mischievous). In middle school and high school, he was still hard-working and got good results. But then he had little time to study because of Sechskies’s busy schedule, so he complained a lot about that.

When Sechskies debuted Ji Yong was still a high school student. (Again) Due to the group’s crazy schedule, he couldn’t go to class regularly like his peers could. He received a huge criticism for his low attendance in class.

All Sechskies members agreed that Ji Yong was the most stubborn one in the group (Ji Yong couldn’t even deny this truth about him).

Ji Yong and Sung Hoon first met at Shin Yong San elementary school when they were in 3rd grade.

When he was little, he loved sleepovers. That’s because as the only boy in his house, he felt so lonely when trying to sleep alone. There was plenty of time he slept at Sung Hoon’s house and vice versa. He also got his sleepover gang, including 8 or 9 boys that enjoyed sleepovers just like he did.

In an interview about one of Sechskies’s songs Yegam, he was asked about his future plans, he answered that he would get married in his early 30s and become a businessman instead of pursuing a singing career.

Many years after Sechskies’s disbandment… A fan accidentally met Ji Yong and asked him to give her a photograph, he refused and said that Sechskies disbanded and he wasn’t a celebrity anymore.
