taking walks at like 2am is so fun because you can feel like you're the only person on the planet, free from responsibilities and perhaps worries. but what goes even harder, i think, is passing buildings with a few lights still on.

you can't help but see all these lives you're so unaware of during the day, where everything is a blur of faces and sounds. are they having trouble sleeping? is a mother up because her baby was crying? is a student finishing homework last minute?

paradoxically, you feel less alone. maybe even less alone than during the day.

I had to be 30 when I was 15 so now I get to be 15 when I'm 30.
