A ridiculously simple explanation just occurred to me for why Ethari wears his scarf as a sash in s7.

It was summer. It had been too hot to wear a scarf while at the forge but he still wanted to wear it so, sash. That's just what he does with it when it's hot out.

Tdp Modern Au: Tattoos

I was scrolling through tattoos on Pinterest when I had the thought of what tdp characters would get. I chose to make it a Modern Au because I know nothing about medieval tattoos or if they even existed. So below is what I think some of the characters would get.

Rayla has a simple tattoo of a cloud. (For Callum, because of his sky magic) I think she would want more, and would likely get something pretty generic like a butterfly.

Callum has a simple tattoo of a moon. (To represent Rayla, of course) And maybe he’d get those elven markings tattooed on his arms that allow him to fly. And perhaps elven or draconic words, like how people get sayings/phrases of other languages tattooed on them.

Ezran is too young, but I think once he’s older Callum and him would get tattoos in tribute of their parents if they’re dead in the modern au; if not they’d get something silly, like matching jelly tarts.

Soren has a tattoo of something stupid. Maybe a cringy saying. (“the heart do what it do, and don’t what it don’t”) Whatever it is, he loves it and everyone else hates it.

I don’t think Corvus would have any tattoos, or at least I can’t think of anything for him. Maybe a fine line tattoo of a dagger by his collarbone or something.

Claudia has a few “witchy” tattoos. Things like moon phases, moths, skulls. Just simple tattoos that are a bit edgy but also quite pretty.

Terry has vines or branches over top surgery scars.

Harrow and Viren likely have small tattoos tributes to their children and partners. And maybe a tattoo for each other that they got when they were young adults. I don’t see either of them as being covered in tattoos, but maybe Harrow would get a large tattoo on his back of something he thinks is cool (a realistic lion comes to mind for some reason)

Sarai would either have simple, fine line floral tattoos, or something absolutely badass, similar to Amaya’s. Or a combination of both!

Amaya is absolutely covered in tattoos. I’m not sure what design she’d get, but it would look stunning and likely be in a realistic style. Maybe a bit of fire too.

Janai would have a lot of fire tattoos, and probably something that very subtly reminds her of Amaya. (Though she swears it’s a coincidence)

Ethari has a tattoo sleeve. The design is pretty generic, probably realistic roses, vines, and maybe a skull or two. 100% let baby Rayla color it in. He’s also got a small moon and bow tattoo for Runaan.

Runaan has the most beautiful, traditional moonshadow elven style tattoo across the whole top of his back. I cannot stress enough that it is STUNNING. It’s probably only line work, maybe in white or blue ink. Also has a small tattoo for Ethari.

I think I know how to permanently kill Aaravos.

It’s a theory that I came up with less than a minute ago, but Aaravos needs his stars to align to be resurrected and keep living. It’s said that Star Touch elves have a lifespan as long as the stars. So technically, if one of his stars were to be destroyed, he’s be unable to come back after death.

But then how would the protagonists destroy a star. Because I don’t think that’s a task suited to “lesser beings”. But they all have a history of befriending dragons, and Star DEVOURER dragons exist. Technically speaking, if they can find and convince one of these dragons (assuming they live up to the name) they can destroy the stars needed for Aaravos’s resurrection and kill him permanently.

I made a post about Runaan and Amaya fighting each other, but imagine them fighting together.

I’m picturing it perfectly. Their skills are so different yet complement each other perfectly. And I think Runaan would fight somewhat similar to Sarai, which Amaya would quickly catch onto.

I hope we get a scene like this in arc 3, and it would be even better if the context of the fight is them being overprotective father/aunt duo

Truly adore how The Dragon Prince said family is more than blood.

How Callum considers both Harrow and Damian his dad.

How Runaan was so tortured by how he treated Rayla the last time he saw her that he constructed his own personal hell and was broken out of it when she told him she was his daughter and she needed him.

How they showed that parents aren't perfect but they don't have to be. Harrow kept Callum at a distance to try and respect Damian's memory, and Ethari Ghosted Rayla. They both reconciled these flaws and mistakes and still loved their parents and understood they were loved too.

So often, step/adoptive parents are cast as an easy villain. Blood relationships are put on a pedestal, above all else. Step parents are cruel and abuse monsters who couldn't possibly love a child unrelated to them by biology.

We got to see something different in The Dragon Prince, and it was so refreshing to see.

Family is more than biology, and love is love.

If Runaan had been born human he would be a Dark Mage

Assassins and Dark Mages both share a kind of ruthlessness, a drive to protect their own at all costs, and a willingness to take the lives of others for a “greater good.” None of the values that drove Runaan to hunt and kill for Xadia would change, only what his society deemed permissible to kill.

I just had a thought. If someone didn't know anything about Runaan and Ethari, they would probably assume Ethari was the more dangerous one. Like sure they're both big guys, but Ethari makes Runaan look like a twink. Literally the only way to make him look more like a stereotypical blacksmith would be to give him an epic beard.

So assume someone tries to start a fight with them. They swing at Ethari who casually dodges, then Runaan comes in and hands their ass to them. Ethari just stands there admiring how hot his husband is while laughing about how this happens every single time.

I just left a comment about Runaan’s phobias on someone’s post, and wanted to expand on it here. CW for talking about some pretty deep and dark fears.

I believe Runaan would have an odd phobia. Something you wouldn’t expect from the leader of moonshadow assassins. Him being scared of something like small dogs, heights, rats, ect, seem fitting. These fears are pretty normal, but you wouldn’t expect it from him. Runaan does everything in his power to make sure other don’t find out his fears (except Ethari ofc) because he would literally die of embarrassment.

On a slightly darker note, I believe he would also have deeper fears. Phobophobia is the phobia of phobias, which I think would suit him perfectly. He’s an assassin and a moonshadow elf, he’s not allowed to be scared of anything. But the idea he could develop a phobia that could potentially be used against him terrifies him to no end.

Runaan also fears failure - specifically what consequences his failure has on others. He’s scared that a single slip of his actions could cost innocent lives. He’s scared his failure could harm Ethari.

Also, I’ve considered the idea that he slowly gains a fear of the dark - more specifically what’s in them. He associates the darkness and shadows with his time in the dungeons, Viren, and dark magic.

Ethari and Runaan are some of my favourite characters because of their character development, designs, and their relationship. I love how every small detail about them compliments one another, and how they just seem so perfect. How their relationship isn’t shoved in your face, but their affection is clear in every action they make.

Tiadrin and Lain are my other favourites, because I headcannon them as fucking idiots, but also love them with my whole heart.
