back on my tattoo artist italy bullshit so heres some ideas:

- tattoo artist feliciano, he dropped out of art school to do his own thing

- lovino runs the family italian restaurant and is soooo mad at feli for fucking off

- ludwig owns the bakery next door to the tattoo shop

- gilbert and feli are partners in crime, they co-own the shop

- feli is covered in art history tattoos

- gilbert got a very ill-advised iron cross while drunk (because Prussian history) and then had to get it covered up because yeah

-gilbert is the ww2 autistic guy you love to hate. hes so annoying (affectionately)

- alfred is there. hes an emt and a regular customer. hes got SO many bald eagle tattoos and i think he was also in the air force or the navy

- all of them are middle aged btw like i respect teenagers but we're doing old man yaoi here

- elizaveta is gilbert's bitter ex and she's very happy with her new husband and gilbert constantly finds excuses to talk shit

- feli smokes like 4 cigarettes at once and has a fwb situation with francis

- francis is a drag queen and also ludwig's gay awakening

- gilbert actually doesnt introduce feli and ludwig. francis does. hes like "these queers would be perfect for each other"

- i respect other Italy ships but i'm a gerita truther unfortunately

- also feli is middle aged (40s) but ludwig is a baby (early 20s) age gap realness

- ludwig cries like a loser while getting tattooed or something. idk what he'd get but maybe he lost a bet

- alfred has a big ass eagle and one of those tramp stamps

So many people who claim to care about trans issues will see conservative transphobes rave about "cutting off healthy breast tissue" and "girls mutilating themselves," rage or clown on male pregnancy, constantly share post-op photos of top surgery scars and phallo skin grafts to illicit outrage, transvestigate male celebrities to "prove he's secretly a woman"--and then turn around and declare that the Right forgets that trans men and mascs exist. I'm so tired of it.

mostly this pisses me off so much because these are the people always going “omg butches are so hot i want a butch girlfriend etc” but then turn around and go “trans men lesbians? ewwwwwwwwwwww no that’s not a thing and has never been a thing” like oh my god how are you attracted to a historical identity without knowing absolutely any of the history behind it.

The fearmongering around medical transition for transmascs will never not be upsetting to me.

“you’re gonna look ugly as a man” “but you’re such a pretty girl, don’t change that” Wrong. You will look different after T, but you will look happy. You will probably grow hair and gain weight and look pretty different, and none of that is bad or makes you less desirable. You are going to look like you and that’s all that matters.

“T makes you angry” “you’re gonna be a scary man i won’t feel safe around you” Wrong. Testosterone does not “make” you angry. Messing with your hormones will mess with your emotions for sure, but you will not immediately become some scary predator when you start T. Being a man/masculine does not make you a threat, a predator, or inherently angry. That’s radfem shit.

“bottom growth is gross” “no one will want you with bottom growth” Wrong. Bottom growth is cool and a LOT of guys end up loving theirs a lot more than they thought they would. For a lot of people it is a desirable trait, there are people who find bottom growth hot and attractive. And! If you’re sure you don’t want it there’s things you can do to work around that, just talk to your provider.

“bottom surgery is super painful and not worth it” First off, call it phalloplasty, because that’s what you’re talking about. Second, yes it’s painful, it’s surgery. There are risks to it and complications can happen, but that’s true of any surgery. Phallo might not be for you, but it is life saving care for other folks. It is beautiful and should be talked about as life saving care and not as some afterthought thing that no one actually does.

Being transmasculine is a beautiful thing. Transitioning medically is not something every trans person wants, but if you notice yourself holding back for the reasons i’ve listed above (or similar) maybe reconsider.
