He did not actually expect to find the current user of the Ope Ope no Mi - something that would have flown under his radar completely if he hadn't seen the child - because that was still a child - reattaching a floating limb. Golden eyes. Black hair. Way too short for his age - stunted health, probably due to malnourishment or sickness or both, Marco noted clinically. A tiny polar bear mink hiding behind him - Marco almost squeaked because what? And a rusted blade pointed at Marco's neck as soon as the First Division Commander made his presence known to the children. Needless to say, Trafalgar Law was not what the Phoenix expected. But perhaps he was exactly what Pops needed. Because Calypso help him, that was a new sibling in the making and he was adorable. Marco did his best to ignore the Phoenix crooning at the back of his mind. Chicklet. Mine.

He likes how Killer makes dinner, and how they share a bed because they can't afford to get another one, and how when he makes him laugh in the safety of their apartment, he can see the way his canine teeth are slightly crooked, and he likes his laugh as well, no matter what Killer says. What do you mean that sounds gay? Take that back right now. That's not gay!! That's just two best friends, living their best lives, and being on a budget. Right? ... Right??

All the years of waiting, the summers spent trying her best to keep the idiot prince’s attention, trying her best to not snap and strangle him for being the idiot he was, the stifling clothes and the forced good behavior… all of it had been leading to today. Today, Buggy was of age to be formally engaged, and that meant there needed to be a formal announcement of their engagement. Or, if things went badly… a formal announcement that the prince was back on the market.

The tent is a mess. What once must have been a soothsayer's safe space, now looks more akin to a dumping place to the point that Law is unsure whether he is in the right place or not. "Trafalgar Law. Have you stopped defying fate?" A croaking voice echoes from behind a curtain of marbles. The woman that makes herself known is old and withered, hunched over by the years with eyes fogged by cataracts and lips too thin and chapped, dehydration speaking for itself in the tremors of her body. She looks on the edge of death. She looks too stubborn to die. "They told me you can turn back time," Law decides to cut to the chase and ask. Better get his disappointment out of his system and leave. He doesn't want to be here longer than necessary; he had had enough of card wielding charlatans in Wano.

Zeff, imprisoned on a Navy ship, strikes up conversation with the only person around - the chore boy, Sanji, who brings him food.
