I keep seeing a lot of peopletrees taking about how movies like Encanto and Turning Red are unrealistic because the conflict with the parental figure is solved to easily, like they admit they were wrong and everything.
I get that this isn't a lot of people's real life experiences, but remember, kid's movies aren't just for kids. They're for the parents watching too. So, yeah, maybe it's not what would happen in real life, but these movies are setting examples for the parents too. That sometimes they need to admit they were wrong, apologize, and meet the children in their lives half way of they want to maintain a relationship with them.
I don't have a great relationship with my mother either. Heck, I look forward to the day I can move out and just not have to talk to anymore because she makes things so hard. I know she's never going to change, she's never going to apologize, and we're never going to have a good relationship. But maybe SOME parents will see this new trend in movies and they'll be better. I hope the parents who are raising kids now will be better, and I think if they're having to watch parents in these movies apologize and make amends then it will stick in their heads and they'll do better.
Sure, a parent who stays stuck in their ways would be more realistic, and you could still find ways to have happy endings for the kids movies. But these movies aren't for you, they're for kids who may have hard relationships with their parents, giving these kids some amount of hope that they can have a better relationship in the future, because young children HAVE to have hope. And these movies are for parents, who might be able to do better than ours did.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! I hope every trans person has a great day, and I hope today can be a day of being proud, loud, and visible! I want every trans kid to know that there are trans people out here living amazing, happy, fulfilling lives - and that future is waiting for you too!
(Here are some of my trans pride bird designs from my (way too crowded - sorry!) Redbubble store)

Are you saying sid the sloth isnt a tumblr sexyman because I disagree
"boohoo our s*xyman is voiced by the Iceage sloth"— well I for one appreciate all the hard work John Leguizamo put into single handedly wrestling Lin Manuel Miranda out of that recording booth to prevent him from voicing Bruno.

Headcanon (and possibly canon): Bruno is left-handed
Several scenes throughout the movie show evidence of this (see below). Historically, left-handed people have been viewed as unlucky or evil. At some point, Bruno likely became aware of this stigma and saw it as further proof that he was cursed. His speech patterns, particularly his occasional stuttering, are indications of an attempt to “correct” his handedness. It is speculated that forcing a left-handed person to be right-handed can cause stuttering, though the jury is still out on whether or not this is true. As a southpaw myself, I fully embrace the idea that Bruno is a lefty.
Bruno holding the trowel with his left hand.
Holding and flipping through the cut-out scenes with his left hand.
Bruno is using his left hand to support the bucket. Most people use their dominant hand to support objects such as buckets while pouring.
Striking a match with his left hand.
Here Bruno switches hands when lighting the other fires. This could indicate that he tried to correct his handedness earlier in life and so now uses his right hand frequently, or it could be that he simply switched for the sake of convenience during this scene.
Bruno charged toward his mother pointing with his left hand. Most gestures are made with the dominant hand, particularly emotional gestures.
It would also feel more natural for Bruno to reach for his sister with his dominant hand. Unless he’s shaking hands with someone, then he would likely rely on his left hand more for physical contact.
Once again using his left hand to support the bucket…
…and hold the trowel.

I think i'm gonna try and step away from trying to talk to anti's
They have put up walls of ego so high that is it even worth it? I guess I'll just focus on being the best person I can be and if they want to think that everyone who thinks different than them is a p*dophile who should die, so be it...
