This is a personal archive of the passions I’ve picked up in the chaos — and kept through the calm: Making Art, Houseplants, Long Distance Running, and Miniature House Building.

Welcome To Optimistically Bipolar
Below is a preview of some of my works. I intend to make posts about each of my artworks, mini builds, all things houseplants, and long distance running. (I am running a 100 mile race next year)(I did not make pots below, just drilled holes for drainge to make them into pots)

Let’s go ahead and address the elephant in the room: I’ve struggled with depression for the past five years. It’s been messy, isolating, exhausting—everything you probably already know if you’ve been through it too. But despite that, I’d still describe myself as an optimistic person. Not all the time. Not perfectly. But in bursts—real, strong bursts. And over time, those bursts started sticking around longer.
After years of trying what felt like every medication, therapy style, and life change you can imagine, I finally found a combo that worked. I began feeling like myself again. But then something else happened—something I hadn’t expected.
I started having manic episodes.
For a while I did not even know they were occurring. These episodes, while mentally exhausting, also led me down some fascinating rabbit holes. Hobbies I never expected to love. Skills I never knew I could learn. Whole new identities I tried on in a frenzy—and some that ended up fitting really well.
This blog, Optimistically Bipolar, is a space to share those hobbies, creations, and lessons. It’s for anyone who’s living with bipolar disorder and wants to hear from someone who gets it. I’m not here to sugarcoat, but I am here to show what’s possible—even in the chaos. Even in the climb back up. Even in the mania.
From houseplants to handmade miniatures to art projects I started on a whim at 2 a.m., I’ll be sharing it all—along with the mental health side of it too.
I hope something here helps or inspires or just simply entertains.
Thank you for reading,
Optimistically Bipolar
