Even during war, if basic goods were available, even at high prices, we would still stand together and support each other as always.

Not to live well, just to stay alive

There is absolutely a shortage of people who criticize AI for shit that actually matters in my corner of the world. If you actually exercised some reading comprehension here you'd notice that in the very first sentence I say "the pushback I see."

Gen AI does not have nearly as devastating an impact on the environment as many other widespread Silicon Valley technologies such as streaming and video conferencing; the belief that it is uniquely extremely destructive is the result of bad statistics reporting.

If you're going to reblog one of my posts specifically to talk shit, I'd appreciate you doing so in the body of your reblog where we can all see it instead of burying it in your tags.

It makes me so mad that the majority of the pushback I see against AI these days is people deriding casual users of ChatGPT and AI art generators as lazy and stupid and enemies of Oppressed Artists when we have militaries and governments using AI to pick bombing targets and identify masked protesters. Can y'all shut up about how everyone who messes around with genAI is a lesser human being with no brain or soul and focus on the fact that the rich and powerful are using this technology to kill and imprison people?

we're getting closer to the day that will mark two years of the genocide in gaza. conditions are worsening. while there is no individual who is unimpacted by the happenings in gaza, many are bearing the brunt of the genocide.

children, old people, pregnant women, and people with disabilities are unable to get enough food to nourish themselves. they don't have access to life saving medicines and the aid they require.

mohammed is a disabled child who was receiving regular physical therapy before the genocide. due to the invasion, his life has been flipped and he is unable to enjoy his childhood or get access to physical therapy.
