Mystery twins dragon designs!

Ideas and thoughts:

Both - nightwings

- have jewelry that represents the other

- born under two full moons, powers are relatively strong and not connected to each other (unlike the stan twins)

-hatched from the same egg

Dipper

- markings resemble pine trees

- has many different constellation patterns but the most prominent is the Big Dipper on his forehead and wings

Mabel

- sparkly™

- big fan of giving herself accessories; stickers, jewelry, etc

I had the most trouble deciding their tribe. Originally it was going to be different than the Stan twins, but they are related and I felt it made the most sense, so here we are. But these are just concepts so they might change later lolll

Some stan twins dragon designs I’ve been cooking up

Ideas and thoughts I had:

Both - night/sea

- sea on Filbrick’s side/night on Caryn’s

- very faint nightwing tear scales, powers are weak and linked to each other

-hatched from the same egg

- have had matching earrings since they were very young

- both are relatively large compared to other dragons from their tribes

- coloring/markings got duller with age

Ford

- 6 large horns + six talons

- eyes were originally red (matching Stan’s coloring) but turned yellow after repeated possession from Bill

- small crown-like jewelry is enchanted by an animus to keep Bill out (in place of the metal plate)

Stan

- the purple in his pupil matches Ford’s coloring

- more constellation/star markings than Ford

Anyway, these designs are still kinda concepts so they’re a bit messy and I may change some things! I’m working on the rest of the cast rn too

Rodimus - skywing

- Rodimus is a avg sized Skywing.

- He has firescales, however he can turn them on and off at will. It's a neat little trick. On par with that, thanks to his ability to control it, he can set himself on fire and basically use himself as a weapon(think the monstrous nightmare from httyd). Nobody knows how or why he has that power since it's very rare among Skywings.

- The patterns on his wings are not painted on (everybody thinks they are be they look like flames) they are actually his natural markings!

- Fast and agile flyer, he's even faster on foot (not to blurr standards tho)

Soundwave - night/sea

- Abnormally tall and skinny, I wanted to give him that unnatural look that has the others creeped out.

- He has an extra amount of bioluminescent scales, they look very different from other seawings.

- Has incredible hearing hence the big ears (like to think it's a nightwing trait)

- Has an extra tail which is a birth defect. The little things at the end of his tails are similar to that of a sea anemone. If you've ever touched a sea anemone you know they are very soft and are very sensitive. Soundwave uses them as an extra touch receptor since they are highly sensitive.

- I also like to think he uses them to touch things. It would be interesting if they send some sort of signal to his brain but I haven't thought that out all the way yet. All I know is that he uses them from grabbing and touching. Which makes others very uncomfortable around him (nobody uses their tails that much)

- Soundwave is mostly mute, however he does speak in aquatic. It's a little hard to understand since his bioluminescent scales are wonky.

- He relies mostly on touch and hearing. He can see but it's a little hard with just one eye, especially since he's very close to going blind in that one eye. His fabric is semi transparent, he can see out of it but you cannot see through it, no matter the lighting.

- Wings are ripped from the war. I like to think that “autobots" always go after the wings of "decepticons" since “decepticons" are mostly aerial fighters. However he can still fly!

Rodimus likes to paint his own bioluminescent scales on himself to try and "communicate" better with Soundwave. They obviously don't work, but Soundwave finds it very cute.

This is so cool!! Omggg I had the idea of rodimus being Firescales but he can control it, like turn it on and off if you know what I mean :3

Been reading the Echo Garden by @altraviolet so here are my (very lazy) wings of fire designs for soundwave and rodimus

Concept designs as of now, here was my thought process:

Soundwave - night/sea

- covers his eyes with fabric, future designs might have his whole face covered but I’m not sure yet

- extra bioluminescent scales

- large ears to hear rodimus yap 24/7

- mostly mute, talks using his bioluminescent scales but if you can’t understand aquatic than that sucks for you!

- lean and lanky but very tall. I like the idea of him looking unnatural compared to the other dragons to highlight his “other worldliness”

Rodimus - skywing

- average sized skywing, maybe slightly taller than others

- tiger stripes seem to fit him the most to me, I am not a huge fan of this design and will be tweaking it in the future (it just doesn’t feel very roddy to me)

- not a lot to say abt his design since im not a huge fan of it 😣
