hi ! i have a question and i thought you'd be an expert since you're in the hall of fame <3

if i have two slots for the same LI, does only the 'first' slot's percentage count?

in my first slot of WP, I had only about 80% with Kayla and so now I'm re-doing her route again. will the 80% be overwritten? should I just delete the first slot?

if you have two or more slots for the same LI, the game will keep your highest percentage. so if you have 80% in slot 1 for Kayla and then restart in slot 2 for Kayla again, 80% won't be overwritten. however, you won't see any movement in the percentages until you get higher than 80% on your second slot, which for Kayla won't be until s2 ep3.

after that, her percentages should go like this if you're on track for 100%:

2.3: 83%

2.4: 83%

2.5: 83%

2.6: 100%

it's easier to track percentages and see where you may have gone wrong if you start at a low percent, so you might want to just delete slot 1. i do have full episode-by-episode percentages for Kayla--lmk if you want them.

friendly reminder that just because you don’t like a LI or their behavior, that doesn’t mean that:

the LI route shouldn’t exist or needs to be changed for your comfort

there is something wrong with players who enjoy the route

there is something wrong with the author for including the route

this comes up every time we meet a new controversial LI, and I’m so sick of it. this time, it’s xander and his scene where he grabs raina’s face and shoves her into a door.

is this abusive? yes! is it toxic? of course! does that mean the content shouldn't exist? no. games like this are a safe place where we can explore all kinds of content, including fucked up stuff like this.

if this isn't up your alley, that's FINE. just take the option the game provides you and say that you hate him when the scene is over. don't buy his diamond scenes, and in your game, xander will be nothing but a side character who you occasionally interact with, just like any other LI whose scenes you aren't buying.

the fact that other people are romancing him has no impact on your game. you can pick one of the other five LIs (the author has confirmed this book will have six in total) and forget about xander. worry about your own game, and stop fretting about how other people play their games. we're fine, i promise. we're just trying to enjoy the game.

this path is everything i ever wanted it to be. whenever authors introduce LIs like malek, i'm always so worried that eventually they're going to lose their nerve and soften the character, and everything that made the LI interesting and unique will be gone.

that's not happening at all with malek. he's been fully revealed to be on the side of the beast, mikael killed him, and now audrey is left to fantasize over him, completely obsessed and unable to do anything about it.

this route is like a sickness, and it's just...so well done.

i did talk to the orca...you get this ending if you're romancing her, but have a weak relationship. i took all of her diamond scenes in season 1 and only the bare minimum that was required to lock in with her in season 2, so nothing past episode 2.1.

it was SO sad :( i only did it because i was trying to get a specific accessory you can only get on this ending, and oh man, it hurt!

re: yesterday's rape spoiler.

i am so disappointed that rc made the awful decision to allow an author, most likely remy, to promote content depicting the lead-up of a rape as an update spoiler.

if an author decides that rape needs to be a part of their storyline, well...i don't like it and i don't want to read it, but that's their artistic vision. BUT, if you're going to include content like that, it needs a trigger warning and an option to skip the scene without repercussions. no one should be forced to drop a book they'd previously been enjoying because they don't want to read a graphic depiction of a character being raped in what's supposed to be a ROMANCE NOVEL. RC has dark themes and that is something i appreciate about them, but at the end of the day, rape has no place in a mainstream romance novel, full stop.

i've seen people saying "well, obviously it's going to have a trigger warning in the book." sure. you're probably right. pretty much every chapter of any rc book that includes content that really pushes the envelope has included a trigger warning. buuuut, the problem here is that the spoiler DIDN'T have a trigger warning. people who are affected by this kind of content had no opportunity to prepare for it and no way to avoid it, and that's fucked up.

i've also seen people saying "well, it's not MC and a LI, OBVIOUSLY" as if that makes a difference. first of all, no shit. but more importantly, what fucking difference does it make who it is? rape is rape. if the theory is right and it is from SCN, i don't care if it's eva and a LI or agnia and a complete stranger who she murders afterwards. i don't want to fucking read it.
