Finally finished, just in time for March April May JUNE for Macragge! At the very least I started it in March. More details and pics below the cut.

This is a finecast Ultramarine ancient with the "Banner of Macragge", though I chose not to paint it 100% lore accurate. Overall, very happy with the results, even if it took me far too long to complete.

Scatta scrap huntta & some scrap trakka squigs.
It was finally time to pull the trigger and paint me an ork boy. The sculpt comes from Hardcore Miniatures line of Fury Road inspired orks. The tracking squigs are from Warhammer Underworld Zarbag’s Gitz.
Happy Orktober everyone!

Getting back to some Shatterpoint as I am starting to play more locally. Started with two MagnaGuard.
A few things of interest. The cloaks have the same warm white palette as Supergiant (which I just painted). I am working on True Metallic Metals (TMM) with these models. Also, the OSL came out pretty cool, especially the light on the chest plate.

Lord, Possessed (2025) -
Decided to test my new surface pen on something quick, it got out of hand. Coloured and polished version of one of the sketches from my Word Bearers Look-Dev studies (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/V28Rmn).
While other warbands and Legions may take a dim view towards the idea of a possessed marine attaining a commanding rank, I imagine Word Bearers would be partial to the prospect. There's scope for the narrative premises as to the nature of the possession. Is the Lord fully in control, a rare individual who bent the Daemon to his will through sheer willpower or the favour of the Gods? Is there a Machiavellian struggle between the two beings for control of the host's body? Maybe the Daemon is fully in control, but it's smart enough to deceive its erstwhile battle brothers through imitation? Also, chain flamberge.
