Aside from the fact that Ichigo barely treats her any differently than most of his friends and has never expressed any attraction towards her, she doesn't love the real him. What she is obsessed with is this image of an idealized version of Ichigo that acts as this invincible superhero and knight in shining armor that only exists in her head. Look how she reacts when he first becomes a Hollow in front of her in order to protect her from Grimmjow: She's fucking terrified of him. It says something when a girl like Nel, who's only known him for about a day, has more faith and confidence in him than a chick that claims that she would love him for five lifetimes. And all she can muster up in support of him is "Don't Die!". Yeah, really encouraging there. It's the same deal when he used his Resurrecion against Yhwach, where's she's again scared shitless even though she's seen him Hollowfy before and kept control. She has no real faith or trust in him if it goes against her idea of what Ichigo is "supposed to be". It's sickening since Rukia would supported him a helluva better than that in those situations.

It’s noticeable that Jump made Klab promote Orihime more actively in BBS. At first they had IR title screen, but then they put Orihime in a first row of characters on the new title screen and shoved Rukia on the back row. Such attempt to make tittyhime look more important is so pathetic. The title screen represents characters from Fullbringers arc. Orihime was a burden in that arc and didn’t do anything important. It’s funny that the most useless character of FB arc got a bigger image on title screen than others. Klab is clearly pushing her image in players faces as if they are afraid that no one would notice her.

In Christmas event they went full Oriwank and made popular female characters babysit her and be friendly with her. Just like Kubo and novel writers they showed a forced friendship between Orihime and Rukia. Again they are trying to make Rukia fans change their opinion on Orihime and stop hating her.

Maybe the lack of seasonal Ichigo and Rukia is also connected to Jump supervision over the game. However when Klab felt thirsty for IR bucks they released the new trailer with shippy parallels in it and new IR gacha.

If I wanted a girl with a bad past who loved an orange haired hero, Sakura Matou is right there. At least she's more complex and has a better reason to love Shirou than Orihoe does with Gary St-I mean Ichigo. Hell, Sakura also has more agency in a MOVIE trilogy in the Heaven's Feel films. How badly do you mess up when that happens?

The only Ichigo worth giving a damn about in 2022 is Ichigo Momomiya because at least the reboot gave her character development and motivation besides "protect muh friends" and power-ups out of the ass. And again, she didn't marry her stalker so Tokyo Mew Mew New, gets a W. Blech, gets the finger.
