Session 2 Moodboard

Our heroes have rescued poor Anja from the Algarians, and now must escape and return to the Peaceful Creatures Cooperation.

After entering the dungeon, our heroes met their first enemy, a cultist named 3G. Cher, the eladrin bard, charmed him in order to buy time for the others to make a plan, which led to Sister Nestra, the halfing monk, the opportunity to kill him and explore the classroom he had been guarding. She studied the fighting techniques on the chalkboard and gained advantage for her next encounter. After inspecting some notes and textbooks on the desk, she picked up an old beat up leather book that has magical properties, and opened a secret door.

To better get past future cultists, Hush, the human dancer, put on 3G’s cloak and tied up Cher and Sister Nestra, effectively disguising themselves as a cultist and captures.

In the next room were three irons doors, with the riddle “I am always right, for I have no left,” engraved on the stone wall above them. After a few minutes of deliberation, Sister Nestra tried the handle on the easternmost door, and it opened! Down the next very long hallway was a barred wooden door, beyond which the heroes could hear voices; luckily, because of the inspiration given to them by Cher’s song earlier, Hush was able to pick up the bar and throw it behind themself like a toothpick.

Once our heroes entered the next room, they quickly realized they were barracks. Inside were two kenkus and a human acolyte, who bought Hush’s disguise and sent them in the right direction; which just so happened to be an 80x80′ octagonal room with a giant wasp in the center and little Anja chained to the back wall, guarded by four other cultists.

After telling two of the cultists that they were needed elsewhere and charming the wasp, Hush revealed their true identity, followed by Cher and Sister Nestra slipping out of their ropes and getting ready to fight. Sister Nestra killed the first cultist easily with a combination of hand-to-hand combat and her quarterstaff, during which Cher and Hush worked together to take down the other cultist. Anja was then freed by Hush as the group turned toward the wasp.

Sister Nestra took the first shot and was fatally stung, but Cher sacrificed her own safety to pour a healing potion down her throat and bring her back. Anja and Hush both took turns trying to stab the wasp, but weren’t able to. Cher charmed the wild creature and then, together, the three killed it together.

After the vicious fight, the group noticed a piece of plywood that was nailed to the wall behind where Anja had been captured. Once removed, they saw it-- a beautiful tapestry of the god of the Algarians:

Garth Algar.
