It's nice, being able to just relax and watch a movie. Relaxing. The triplets are focused on it, so there's no need to worry about them. It's a nice, quiet moment.

"... Right." Alam nods, hesitantly wrapping an arm around him. "You cannot specify, but. Time is of the essence, both in regard to speed and Utur's concept, I figure."
He pauses. "... I will talk to my Mike. Ask him for help. That... should, uh, should work? I hope?"
He doesn't know exactly what just occured, but he can easily see how upset Mike is. And... it seems like Mike might have been stopped from speaking by something Alam can't see. Being affected by a being other people can't see... Alam can relate.
"I will... I will do my best. I promise."
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

"Right." Alam shudders slightly. "Naming them feels... really wrong for some reason, anyway."
He takes a deep breath, letting it out in a low sigh. "I suppose you cannot point me in the right direction, what I should at least start doing? I... I am kind of lost. Seeing Utur like that... caught me off guard."
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

"Thank you." Alam smiles weakly. "So... I spent. A long time in the void. But I was not alone."
Alam looks down as he speaks, voice quiet. "I travelled with a group. We cared about each other, looked after each other. There was a lot in the void that could hurt us, so we stuck together to stay alive. But... there were... accidents."
He pauses for a moment. "There were creatures in the void that could and would eat us, yes, but... there was something worse. When one of, um, one of us, or any eldritch like us I guess, rejected their concept, rejected being eldritch, pushed everything away, sometimes they would... change."
Alam shudders. He won't look up now, staring at his hands.
"We never made up a word for them. Did not want to call them to us by accident. But. Sometimes. Sometimes we missed the signs in one of us. Did not notice until too late. Until-" He cuts himself off, sharply.
"You... probably know what I mean. We would lose more than one person when that happened. I tried not to sleep for as long as I could after I saw it happen the first time."
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

He sighs, putting a hand on his face.
"Can I at least... uh, complain, vent, whatever, without causing issues? I mean, you probably already know what I am going to talk about so at least you have... I do not know, context?" Alam honestly looks close to tears, and it isn't because of what Mike's been saying. All of this... it's scared him. Scared him deeply.
"You do not even have to, you know, say anything about uh, everything. I just. You probably know. This is... a lot. For me."
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

"That's... I think helpful?" Alam doesn't shy away from Mike's touch, but he does shudder slightly. Which is progress, considering he's still not quite comfortable with Mikes, and he's extremely distressed.
"I just... I should have realised. I know the warning signs, I should have done something-"
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

Alam, having not seen Hermit Mike until he spoke, yelps.
"Gah! Give me some warning - what do you mean it has started?" He pauses. "Wait, no, you are from the future, right? ... I do not suppose you could at least warn me if they. You know. Go all the way?"
Alam's hands are shaking. It's clear he's extremely distressed by all this.
A: Shit. Shitshitshit. This is bad. This is really bad.

(( ooc Note; the video below includes a slightly-flashing section and some stylized gore.
TL;DR for those who do not want to watch - Alam checks on Utur and their state reminds him of a violent being he saw while in the void. He leaves. ))
ALAM: Utur? Hey, Utur?
(( Side note: The animation was previously in time with the audio, but it didn't stay in time when I finished it. Since it was made in the middle of the night, I chose not to fix it. ))
#janitor speaks#unknown illness arc#janitors log#(( ooc the art for this isn't GREAT but like. i want to continue this arc more than i want to make things look good lol

"Okay!"
The triplets nod, and hop up, heading over to the bed in front of the TV. They settle in, getting comfortable and ready to watch.

"That sounds nice!" Sunny nods, happily. "Kiki is fun to say!"
Sunny and Moonie then begin repeating the word Kiki to themselves, quietly.

"Can you pick, please?" Moonie asks. "We have seen a lot of them and we cannot agree on our favourite."
