Jerry Garcia Band cover band.
Edit: the band was amazing and, man, that’s a whole scene.

WAV files available in the Google Drive.
For order of songs, see: https://skunkwooder.bandcamp.com/album/temple-to-some-such-bullshit-richard-powell-walklings-greatest-western-recordings-2000-2025
You've heard all these songs before. But they've been remastered for this collection. Or - let's be honest - for most of them, they've been mastered for the first time.
For someone who can't read music, doesn't know music theory, can't sing, can't keep time, can barely play guitar, and doesn't know how any of the equipment works, I've done alright.

“If a sketch calls for an animal, SNL always uses the same agency. A llama named Pierre appears on the show nearly as often as Alec Baldwin does.
“Since the seventies, when a sketch features a moment backstage, there is usually visible, milling in the hallway, a showgirl in a feathered headpiece, a man dressed as Abe Lincoln, and a llama. The tableau first appeared on SNL in a 1978 episode hosted by Eric Idle; thirty years later the trio started appearing again as a regular sight gag.”

Our neighbors tamed two crows last summer and then moved to Oakland in the fall. They let us know that if two friendly crows showed up in our yard, that’s who they were. It took until two months ago for them to show up but when they did, we set out a bath and fed them nuts. Just this week, they’ve started to bring friends and I think the hospitality will end soon. Not sure I want to be the community center for neighborhood crows.

Last week I did my second journey with GN. I have less to say about this one than the one I did last year. This was more intense (higher dose) and doesn't lend itself to words easily. At least not yet. But I'll share a detail.
In my first journey, everything was reduced to light and love as the unifying force that holds all of existence together. This time, the psilocybin express train blew right by that stop and reduced everything to energy and matter that spiraled infinitely and at infinite scales in interwoven fractals. There wasn't a visual component necessarily. I didn't see these four-dimensional interwoven, spiraling fractals. I just understood that the entire universe (including myself) was made of these at endless scales for endless time and any distinction between these undifferentiated spiraling fractals was imagined or superimposed. You, me, planets, solar systems, light, Mondays, permission, life, death, narrative, is all superimposed onto this foundation of existence and much of it created by collective imagination or habit. All of it the unintended consequence of infinite fractalling.
It was comforting. I was amused at the folly of our own lives. I feared not death. It was just another bob and stitch in the endless weaving of existence. I noted the location and when I need to confront my own mortality, I'll return again.

Wood Mountain. They must have taken the seating out because it just attracted bums and hoodlums.

I’m 53 years old. I have been recording music for 30 of those years. It’s only just now occurred to me the make a playlist of my favorite songs by me.
