I think so many love Mr. Darcy because he is honest and genuine, he owns he has faults. He is more human than any other romantic hero. The progression of his love is also realistic which I think we all appreciate, he does not immediately love Elizabeth but his feelings grow over time. Mr. Darcy loves Elizabeth unconditionally which is another reason why he is so attractive to the ladies, we all wish there was someone that would love us no matter what. There were a few times that Elizabeth thought that he surely didn't love her anymore, but his love always perserved.

People tend to make fun of the Jane Austen novels because the way people talk, dress, their values, morals among other things, most people don't understand it so they ridicule it. This book was literally written about her own time in the early 1800s which is more than 200 years ago. Naturally most ideas, traditions and customs don't make sense to people in our time. Especially the notion that a women needs a man to be successful or complete her life. That is why most ridicule her work, we have to remember and no take into account this is not from our era. I found this short hilarious, this is an example of people from our making fun of the properness the ladies were confined to in that time because they don't understand it.

This isn't my English blog post for the week but I wanted to share this, as I was perusing youtube I stumbled upon this movie trailer about a Jane Austen fangirl. It looks interesting and kind of ties in with the class so far.

So I found this on youtube and I think this is pretty cool fan art of Fangirl, it made the book come to life. I think the creator of this short did a pretty good job on representing these characters so honestly. I kind of had more insight on the story by having an objective view as opposed to reading the story through Cath's perspective.

LOLOLOL this made me think of the negative ramifications of fandom that we discussed in class, how fandoms can divide into smaller subgroups that judge and insult each other. An example is most fans conflict over 'ships like...Peeniss vs. Galeniss or the epic battle of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob 'ships for Bella.

Book Collage based on Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
Perhaps a bit too quote heavy? But I personally blame Rainbow Rowell and her amazing writing for that. It was super hard having to leave out so many amazing quotes…

I was thinking of how in class we talked about how literature and movies gain devout fans. These are some novels that had many fans and their popularity in this case caused these novels to be produced into movies into 2013. Les Miserables had many movie remakes and remains a classic and has may fans throughout time. The fans of these novels had an huge impact.
