Today, December 3, the entire Catholic community celebrates the feast day of Saint Francis Xavier, a Jesuit priest. He was born on April 7, 1506 in the castle of Xavier, in the kingdom of Navarre. He was beatified by Pope Paul V on October 25, 1619 and was canonized on March 12, 1622 by Pope Gregory XV. He is the patron saint of African missions, Agartala, India, China, Nasugbu (a town in the province of Batangas in the Philippines), Cebu (a province in the island of Visayas in the Philippines), Indonesia, just to name a few.

Today, July 11, both the Anglican and the Catholic Churches honor the feast day of Saint Benedict of Nursia, a Christian saint and an abbot of Monte Cassino. He was canonized in 1220 by Pope Honorius III. He was a brother to Saint Scholastica. He died on March 21, 543. He is considered as the patron saint of Europe and students, as well as of monks, farmers, civil engineers, Italian architects, dying people, just to name a few.

Today, July 6, we celebrate the feast day of Saint Maria Goretti, one of the Roman Catholic Church's youngest canonized saints. She is the patron saint of crime victims, teenage girls, modern youth and children of Mary. She was beatified on April 27, 1947 and was canonized on June 24, 1950 both by by Pope Pius XII.
