crazy ex-girlfriend uses season finales to represent emotions running high but since life doesn’t make narrative sense, the narrative fall-out promised by the season finale is quickly dashed by the next season premiere. to his horror, rebecca confesses to josh that she moved to west covina at the end of season one. but josh isn’t able to deal with the fact that the woman he just dumped his long-term girlfriend for is obsessed with him, so season one’s confession goes largely unaddressed at the beginning of the season two - its big consequence is that it sucks the surface romance out of josh/rebecca. season two ends with paula promising to help rebecca destroy josh chan on the edge of that cliff, but in s3, paula quickly realizes how unhealthy rebecca’s revenge plans are and refuses to cosign them. s3 ends with a dramatic court scene in which rebecca “pleads responsible”, only for the s4 opener to portray her actions as completely self-indulgent. crazy ex-girlfriend plays up the inherent dramatics to season finales but uses the final moments to speak to rebecca’s melodramatic nature more than anything else. while something like josh leaving rebecca at the altar IS significant, rebecca and paula swearing to destroy josh chan DOESN’T end up to be significant and the rest of the final moments of season finales follow similar patterns. they’re arbitrary moments REBECCA places a lot of importance on and while the nature of a season finale seems to support this, the season opener ALWAYS undoes it. the typical structure of a tv season is scrambled by cxg because life isn’t some carefully crafted story (it’s a mess and we’re all gonna die)

Mutuals who do not care abt my hyperfixations ignore this its not real art but i dont have photos of the actual earrings bc i sent them to my cousin but i have the sketches for shrink plastic crazy ex girlfriend earrings i made for my cousin (the nathanial ones are just in theroy, but i made the let’s generalize abt men ones for real- it’s a four peice set!)
The four women i would trust with my life (the paula one is my favorite, i tried to do her justice, bc all of the fanart of her in this scene i saw made her skinnier then she was and i, as a fat person, did not agree)
and the character i am so upset that i actually like bc he’s literally the personification of capitalism when u meet him (but he gets better,,, its ok,,,,)

songs we should have had 2/?
rebecca being serenaded with a million flowers + flower puns, aka ‘daffodils’ from big fish meets that scene from gilmore girls. (in my head this is sung by marty since it’s right up his alley but feel free to insert your own love interest here!)
