"tch... damn it!" he muttered, his tone soft but laced with a hint of annoyance. those little chimera cubs had certainly taken a liking to the crown prince. since when did being a magnet for chimeras become part of his destiny? he sighed inwardly, the weight of his peculiar predicament settling on his shoulders like an unwanted cloak.

as he wrangled the squirming cubs in his arms, he became acutely aware of a pair of eyes watching him. slowly, he looked up, meeting the steady gaze of aglaea.

clicking his tongue in mild frustration, he shifted the two cubs, their soft fur tickling his arms. he gave her a pointed look, a subtle plea for assistance beneath his exasperation.

"care to lend a hand? these two just won’t leave me be," he said, his voice carrying a mix of resignation and reluctant humor.

as he strides through the snow-dusted streets of belobog, his initial thought is to pay natasha a humble visit. memories of her kind smile and steadfast resolve surface in his mind. it’s been too long since he last saw her, and he feels a tug of guilt mixed with anticipation. he needs to assure her that he's alive and well, to see her face light up with relief, even if only for a moment.

the crisp air carries a peculiar stillness, broken only by the muffled crunch of his boots. just then, a shiver runs down his spine. he halts, his instincts sharpening. a presence lurks in a blind spot, just out of sight. the subtle tension in the air is unmistakable. ah, he can feel it. he can smell it. there's no mistaking this.

his eyes flutter closed for a brief moment, his arms folding across his chest as he exhales a weary sigh. it’s almost a ritual now, this cat-and-mouse game.

"sampo...?" he murmurs, the name slipping from his lips with a mixture of exasperation and reluctant amusement.
