Malcolm raised his free hand- the one which he had used to trace the scar- up in surrender, and although he aimed his shotgun at Riven’s stomach, he had his hand off the trigger. “Woah, careful where you point that sword, you might get your face filled with buckshot next time.”

He kept the hand raised as he elaborated. “I was just...intrigued, I suppose would be the way to put it. Scars have stories- always. Even if it’s something as stupid as tripping and fallin’ on a knife, it’s still a story. Sometimes the way the scar is shaped, you can even tell what exactly caused it.”

Graves lowered the shotgun down at Riven’s legs, now. “Look, I ain’t here to pick a fight. If I wanted that shit, I’d be in Bilgewater right now, doin’ some stupid shit. I’m just curious as to what that scar’s story was, if you got th’ time.”

Riven froze up as she felt a pair of digits tracing a scar on her back, she frowned and turned with a swift and fluid motion with her blade ready and straightened towards Graves.

“What do you want with me?”

Malcolm frowned at the sound of the voice, taking a moment to identify it's source. Upon finding the woman who spoke to him, he felt a slight annoyance begin to rise, as he took a seat at the bar itself.

"Newcomer? Hardly, Katarina. I'm sure you are aware of my running ins with the Noxian authorities in the past, and if not, then you definitely know the incidents of my former partner." He dare not mention the name, however.

"But I don't give a shit about being new here or not, I'm just here to have a few drinks, to ease back just a tiny bit for the current moment. You sure as hell aren't helping though."

He took a seat two seats down from the Noxian, and placed Destiny on the opposite side of Katarina as to keep the shotgun from as far away from the Noxian assassin as possible.

"Although, I have never been to this place specifically before."

Katarina only drank with people of importance.

That’s why she was drinking alone.

The men of Noxus learned quickly she wasn’t one for large outings. They used to crowd around her, but now, at the greeting of her blade, they would find their own little cliques. A collection of glasses surrounded her area, housed by herself. The redhead visited this place so often that is seemed to be reserved. As if everyone already knew it was in her possession.

The entrance would swing open, revealing a familiar face, and a familiar weapon.

The assassin almost sneered. A certain sickness washed over her at the outlaw’s appearance. Really? Had she ever done anything this bad? Something to deserve him? In her city?

" Look who we have here, if it isn’t the newcomer. " Katarina would taunt the man under a drunken haze, seemingly more proud than she would have been prior.

The Noxian tavern was filled with smoke and loud laughter, as card players played poker and blackjack. To anyone on the outside, it'd sound almost as if all of Noxus had decided to gather in a single, small place.

Amongst all that however, there was a patron who was not of Noxian origin, one whom did not fit in at all compared to the rest, one who had been hunted by Noxian authorities before because of his cheating tendencies at cards, making him rather unpopular to those who played against him.

Malcolm Graves shot smoke out of his nose, swirling the Noxian whiskey that laid in his hand. He took a drink and then another drag on his cigar, as he glanced over at the card tables before shaking his head. He'd prefer to not have another close call with the authorities. Little did he know, that could turn out to be the least of his worries...

Firearm modifications

'nother worldbuilder coming your guy's way. As usual, feedback/chipping in is appreciated.

Now as we know, there are modified weapons that exist in Valoran through Caitlyn's technology on her rifle as well as Graves' shotgun. What exactly do these do though, and what other possible modifications exist within Valoran?

Firstly, Graves' shotgun. For me personally at least, the whole point of his modified shotgun is so that:

A. His explosive shells will get ignited and would explode either on impact or very shortly after they exited the barrel. Whilst yes, guns do emit fire when shot, his is much more sophisticated and has way less chance of blowing up in his face.

and B. to reduce his gun from jamming as easily, whether from rain or being stuck somewhere like the mud. Of course that doesn't mean it's impossible for it to jam, but the risk is greatly reduced.

As for Caitlyn's rifle, the main one is that her rifle has a laser sight which helps her aim and shoot better. On top of that, it also contains an alternate barrel for her net which is activated by a button press. Along with both of those, she also has the ability to let her rifle 'charge up' or delay her bullets exiting the chamber in order to make them much stronger (a la Piltover Peacemaker).

Of course, what does this mean for other modifications? As we know from what's presented, laser sights /do/ exist, albeit in a rare fashion but there's more than just Caitlyn's. Flashlight attachments also likely exists, but only for smaller firearms (see: pistols), and it's possible that very early (albeit ineffective) silencers are being made and tried out, and recoil reduction is likely being tried and at it's later stages of development, but still is an incomplete product.

That's about all I can talk about. My knowledge in firearms and RL modifications are really limited and frankly I'm terrible at guns in general. If anyone has more knowledge than myself and wants to correct or add on, please PLEASE do so! I always wanna learn more ;v;
