STOP THE COUNT! No because I’ve fr been meaning to talk about teaching him how to dance Bachata and slowly working his way up to learning Salsa and Merengue. At least for me, dancing is a love language and a cultural thing I grew up doing and watching, and it goes beyond just lovers dancing sensually. It’s another form of connection with whoever you’re dancing with: family member, friend, etc. It’s learning how to exist with someone else in the same space as you, in whatever capacity that’s acceptable.

So for Jack, I’d imagine it’d be an instance where you play classical Bachata music you grew up listening to when you think he’s asleep, the music fills the kitchen early Sunday morning as you prepare to take on the herculean task of deep cleaning the entire place. You sway your hips little by little, fully in-tuned with the music, using your broom or mop as a dancing partner and humming along as you move. Jack’s already up, he’s been watching you dance about from the kitchen archway for the past three songs and hasn’t said anything. He just watches as you move your feet slowly to the tempo, trying to memorize the footwork, when to step back or to the side, when you need to spin or pause. And it’s when you turn around and catch him watching you, he comes up with a sly grin, curls all messy from sleep, and he takes one of your hands in his and simply asks:

“Teach me.”

Yeah I want to talk about this so so much cause it would fill a hole in my fucking chest to really explore a relationship with an explicitly Caribbean partner. I’ve wanted to for a long time, but adding so much of myself into a story like that makes me nervous so I psych myself out lol. 😭

Let’s talk about Jack Abbot dating a Caribbean girl who is always listening to Dancehall, Reggae, Reggaeton and all kinds of music and sometimes she’ll play it when she deep cleans the house on Sundays or when she’s showering and Jack will Shazam the damn songs and add them to his playlist for the gym/jogs and his drives to and from work. Turns out, he really likes Spice and loves the way his girl sings One Man by Gaza Slim cause he knows she’s talking about him.

Anyways, I decided to clean up my Main Masterlist and make it more recent and up to date with my current interests. I deleted both of my Joel Miller & Pedro Pascal Masterlists and put all of those fics on private so only I have access to them, some posts have been deleted. Most of those fics have been uploaded to my AO3 account anyway (same user as here), so people can still read them there if they want to. You can also probably still find my drabbles or little blurbs using the tags: #ovaryacted drabbles and #⋆♱ nic works ♱⋆ for all of my general writing.

The only two stories I’m cross posting on both Tumblr and AO3 are for General Marcus Acacius: Guilty As Sin & Safety Net the Sugar Daddy Marcus Acacius AU I’m working on with @/gothcsz. If I plan on making any significant changes to those stories, I’ll let you guys know. Any other fics I ever write involving Pedro Pascal’s characters or Joel Miller will be uploaded to AO3 moving forward.

For new things: Shawn Hatosy has his own Masterlist for his characters and I’ll expand it if necessary. That’s where you’ll find anything I write for Andrew Pope Cody & Charlie Reid, and possibly Sammy Bryant if I’m interested in him as well. If any other hyperfixations pop into my brain, they’ll get a separate masterlist somewhere, but at this rate I doubt it lmao. The Pitt Masterlist stays the same, and both the Wolverine & Resident Evil Masterlists won’t be expanded on from here on out but I’ll keep them up for now. I also deleted Wish You Knew from tumblr because I don’t plan on finishing it here, if I ever get inspired to revisit that story, I’ll put it on AO3 or just straight up delete it.

I’ve been debating whether or not to take a break from social medial altogether, including Tumblr, but I will be sure to let you guys know. If I do, I’ll lock my inbox and try to clear it out during my break, so I can come back with some prompts and responses for you guys. I’ll keep you guys posted, thank you for the support either way. 🩶🫶
