the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.

But omg keep me updated on your watch of THE PITT! I’m always curious about people’s thoughts on it especially when I’m out here single-handedly making sure the viewership increases as they grow a cult following!! And it’s okay if you don’t feel the same abt the characters, I’d rather you like the show itself cause it’s so interesting and well done and I can’t wait for S2! That whole cast is fine tho so everybody can have me IDC!

I really did go into watching THE PITT fully convinced I’d be head over heels for Dr. Robby, and here comes Dr. Abbot knocking the wind out of me and the rest was history. Over the past month, it genuinely feels like my brain has changed after watching the show and going down the Shawn Hatosy rabbit hole, going through his discography like other people are doing now as he gains more visibility, and listening to interviews of him talking about his work over the 30 years he’s been in the industry as both an actor and a director. It’s super cool hearing him talk about his craft, and I’m just kinda riding the wave and I’m happy I found him cause now I just wanna gatekeep him and put him in my pocket lmao. This new hyperfixation makes me happy truly, it’s a feeling I’ve missed if I’m being honest so I’m just enjoying it while I have it. 🥹

What’s very funny though is seeing other people like my mutuals develop biases towards his characters and favoring one over the other. Like for me personally, Jack Abbot is it for me, that man is just different. THIS SHIT IS IN DIFFERENT AREAS! I see others definitely gravitating towards Andrew Pope Cody from Animal Kingdom, or Sammy Bryant from Southland, and now some Charlie Reid fans from Chicago PD despite him being such a short lived character. It’s just fun, this little community for Shawn Hatosy on all platforms is growing and I like it and love talking and thinking about him so yay. I bet y’all are sick of me talking about that white man, but he’s here to stay so get used to it!
