OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 9 - Gentle Affection
Inside the pillow fort, Pure Vanilla chose not to let the other cookies know that he could hear them outside since the sound wasn't disturbing Shadow Milk's rest as he ran a hand along the top of his head in a gentle manner. After what had happened at the Spire, he didn't expect to ever hear the beast in his lap purr again, even if he'd only heard it whenever the other cookie had been trying to annoy him during his time as Truthless Recluse. To be honest, the sound was nice.
“I'm surprised a child caused this…”
Running a hand through the beast's hair, Pure Vanilla softened seeing how he tried to nuzzle up into his touch before curling closer to him. That was until he caught a rather savory smell coming from outside the fort. Seems that one of the humans was making dinner then…the scent causing Shadow Milk to stir sleepily and peek open his eyes.
“Mnnn…”
“Did you rest well?” Pure Vanilla tried not to chuckle when Shadow Milk made a sound similar to one Tiger Nutmeg Cookie would make when her sleep was disturbed before nuzzling into his stomach slightly. It only took a few seconds before the beast's eyes shot open and he practically tried to launch himself from his lap once his mind caught up with him as his face turned a bright shade of blue.
Shadow Milk didn’t even remember falling asleep, and he could only hope that he wasn’t purring as Pure Vanilla pat his head. Ugh…why did that insufferable cookie’s warmth have to stick around after he’d already backed away? And why did it have to feel so comfy!? Before he could process that thought, it was quickly washed away by the wave of embarrassment that came once he realized he’d been snuggling into Pure Vanilla like Candy Apple would one of her dolls.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to startle you. I simply wanted to know how you were feeling.”
The beast looked at Pure Vanilla when he said that before looking away seeing the warm and tender expression on his face. Instead, he focused on the entrance of the fort where the scent that had woken him was growing stronger. Eager to change the subject and distract from what he’d done, Shadow Milk spoke up.
“W-What’s that smell?”
“It seems that Jasper decided to make dinner while you were resting…would you like to see?”
Pure Vanilla watched through the eye of his staff as the cookie of deceit thought of his answer. While the beast himself may have seemed impassive, the eyes in his hair gave away his hesitation with how they glanced between the entrance and himself around before settling on him. Though Shadow Milk’s voice was barely audible, he heard it.
“I…I’ll stay…b-but only for now!”
Pure Vanilla couldn’t help but smile from the response before nodding “Alright then…now that you’re awake, may I properly see where you were wounded?”
Watching as Shadow Milk adjusted his clothes with a huff, the ancient cookie couldn’t help but wince in sympathy as his gaze softened. While the bruising on the head had faded due to his healing, there were bruises scattered along the beast's arms and torso as well as portions of his back that still looked fresh. Running a hand along a bruise across the shoulder, Pure Vanilla watched as the action caused the beast to wince.
‘My apologies, I didn’t mea-”
“Shut it…it’s fine.”
“For the Beast of Deceit, that lie was rather obvious, wouldn’t you say?”
Shadow Milk let out a growl at that and grit his teeth as he suppressed another wince when the ancient cookie moved his hand to one of the bruises along his back. If he saw another human child, it would be far too soon for him…turning his face to one of the plushies within the fort while the eyes in his hair watched Pure Vanilla map out the bruises.
“I’ve done all I can for today, so try to be careful, alright?”
Shadow Milk rolled his eyes at that as Pure Vanilla withdrew his hands. For witches sake, he didn’t need to be coddled like some kid who scraped their knee!
“I know you’re strong and like to act it, but even the strongest don’t bear their burdens alone.”
“I said I’m fine, No need to make this into a performance…” Pure Vanilla had to keep himself from responding with ‘Isn’t that what you like to do?’ as he smiled in a serene manner despite the cookie’s grumbling.
“Very well. If you need anything, you need only ask.”
Before Shadow Milk could respond, the sound of muffled giggling from outside the fort caused him to tense as the eyes within his hair darted to look at the direction of the sound.
“They’re eavesdropping!” Shadow Milk had flushed a bright blue as he hissed and flared his hair out…oh no, did they see him and Pure Vanilla…? The healer in question seemed unbothered as he let out a soft laugh.
“Perhaps they're just curious?” Pure Vanilla spoke softly as he readjusted some of the pillows and plushies in a calm manner. “After all, it's not every day the Beast of Deceit willingly allows himself to stay somewhere so cozy.”
With that, Golden Cheese and Eternal Sugar peeked into the fort's entrance with matching mischievous expressions seeing how blue Shadow Milk's face was…the pink haired cookie speaking up.
“I must admit, while dinner smells amazing, the sight of you both cuddling together smells so much sweeter~” Her voice almost came out as a purr as Golden Cheese snickered when Shadow Milk turned his face away with a grumble of “Stupid meddling gnats…” as his face flushed further.
“Perhaps you both would like to join us? Or would you prefer to watch Jasper set the table?”
While Golden Cheese's eyes shone in a playful intent at Pure Vanilla's offer, her response was interrupted by a shout from outside the fort. “Burning Spice put that down!” seems Jasper was having to wrangle the destructive beast again…Eternal Sugar let out a soft sigh before moving to watch whatever carnage her fellow beast was creating.
Pure Vanilla, seeing how Shadow Milk had stiffened slightly from the yell, placed a hand on his shoulder in a gentle manner before speaking up softly. “It's alright…”
Noticing the atmosphere of the fort, Golden Cheese decided she could leave her teasing for later. Giving a wink and a grin, she spoke up as she went to follow Eternal Sugar.
“I'll save your seats for you both.” With that, the golden sovereign disappeared from the fort entrance as Pure Vanilla finished adjusting some of the pillows…the quiet atmosphere from before returning.
“We can stay as long as you need to collect yourself” The soft murmur from the ancient cookie caused Shadow Milk to look towards him. “After all, everyone needs sanctuary at some point.”
Shadow Milk let out a sigh and relaxed ever so slightly at that before nodding. After all, he had to make sure he was presentable before they saw the others, and he absolutely refused to let the others see the bruising Pure Vanilla had! Burning Spice wouldn't let him live it down!
Soon enough, all the cookies had been moved to the table with Jasper setting down the steaming pot of Dublin Coddle. He had a satisfied grin on his face while Lillian quietly put stew in the doll bowls gotten from the hobby shop, letting Dark Cacao pass them out when he offered.
“Dinner is served! It may have taken wrestling the ladle from Burning Spice like one would a chew toy from a dog, but we did it!” Jasper knew he'd never live down getting smacked upside the head with said ladle…especially not with how Eternal Sugar laughed.
Silent Salt had settled near Mystic Flour, who almost seemed to be contemplating something before she began eating her portion of stew quietly once it was handed over. She must be missing her companion, Cloud Haetae...despite how apathetically she carried herself, the silent beast always noticed how her eyes and expression would soften into something more motherly whenever the young cookie was around or mentioned. What he also couldn't help but notice was how Shadow Milk was moving oh so stiffly.
Despite Pure Vanilla's insistence to be careful, Shadow Milk refused to let those annoying bruises slow him down. He's endured the painful existence of being trapped in the Silver Tree by the witches for cookie's sake! Why should this be any different?! Sitting on the table, he did his best to mask his stiffness as composure. Unfortunately, Golden Cheese noticed.
“You move like you're being watched.” Lillian looked to Golden Cheese curiously, with the cookie in question smirking as she lounged comfortably in her spot.
“I'm moving like I ALWAYS do…maybe you're making me uncomfortable by watching me?” Shadow Milk responded with a mutter causing Jasper to raise an eyebrow.
White Lily, who hadn't noticed the stiffness until it was brought up, set her spoon down before speaking up softer. A-Are you still in pain…?”
Before Shadow Milk could deflect, Burning Spice made his way over with the energy around him crackling like fire. “What's taking you so long? Hurry up and eat!” The destructive beast sat himself down next to the smaller beast before, without thinking, clapping him right on the back where one of the worst bruises was hidden.
Shadow Milk grit his teeth, forcing himself not to react to the sharp flare of pain that shot through him as his hair instinctively bristled with the eyes there widening before returning to normal. His hopes the minor reaction went noticed were dashed the moment he saw how Golden Cheese's expression had changed.
“Ohhh?” Golden Cheese's eyes gained a mischievous glint as she leaned towards the beast. “Did that tiny tap make you flinch?” Her smirk only grew when Shadow Milk glared back at her.
“It didn't…”
Jasper looked a bit worried now as he looked between the two cookies and noticed Golden Cheese's smirk shift into a grin that he swore reminded him of the Cheshire Cat. While Lillian had also noticed, she chose to keep out of it for now.
“The fearsome Beast of Deceit? Hurt so badly by a mere child? How tragic.”
Shadow Milk ignored Golden Cheese and focused on his food, shoving a spoonful of stew into his mouth. If he was eating, she couldn't pester him for a response. Of all times for Burning Spice to be more physical, why did he need to choose right then?
Pure Vanilla, who was watching the exchange, decided to interrupt with a soft chuckle. “While teasing can be fun, best not to let it go too far, my friend.”
“Now now, no need for coddling.” Golden Cheese leaned back, satisfied with her teasing for the moment. “I just don't want to see that spoon trembling in his hands.”
Lillian looked to Shadow Milk, who'd shoveled another spoonful into his mouth and bristled his hair up like an irate kitten like he was daring them to push the issue. He wasn't going to admit he was hurt, was he…? Well, while she could draw attention to it, she knew Jasper was far better suited for doing so. Besides, with the expression Hollyberry had, she wouldn't need to make mention of anything.
As expected, Hollyberry's booming voice rang out. “Well now, what's with the grim atmosphere?” She moved and sat herself down right next to Shadow Milk despite his bristling. “This is meant to be a hearty feast! What's with all this miserable moping?”
Shadow Milk tensed…trying to avoid having her elbow ram into his side and shifting away slightly. Unfortunately, Hollyberry's movement alongside his own quiet and careful movement got the attention of Dark Cacao, who watched the subtle adjustment. He caught the shift in the other cookies' gaze to look him over and dreaded the sight of the ancient cookie opening his mouth.
“You're still hurt…” Dark Cacao's statement wasn't a question, just a simple declaration.
Shadow Milk stiffened at that, with the action causing the bruises to sting. “I'm fine…now could you all just drop it? Show's over!”
Hollyberry paused hearing that before slowly turning to the beast. Initially she wanted to make things more lively, but what Dark Cacao said had her focusing on Shadow Milk. “Fine, huh?” Looking closer, she could see that the smaller cookie was holding himself unnaturally still and the eyes in his hair almost seemed to be wincing.
Jasper had taken to eating as the cookies interacted, but was drawn back to the conversation steadily as it drew on. That was when he noticed a darker color peeking out from under the oversized sweater Shadow Milk had changed into.
“Wait-” Jasper's expression had turned worried as he focused on the discoloration. “Just how badly did you get hurt? That bruise looks about as dark as my hair.”
That was enough to make Hollyberry's easy going demeanor shift. After all, she was friends with Pitiya Cookie who would often push through pain and refuse aid for the sake of nothing but his own pride. She wasn't about to let Shadow Milk do the same when they didn't have the resources to handle more severe wounds.
“Let me see.” Hollyberry reached towards Shadow Milk, who immediately tried to lean away.
“I told you, I'm fi-” The beast didn't even get to finish as she grabbed his arm anyway in a firm but careful grip. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't hide how his body tensed since part of where Hollyberry had grabbed was bruised.
“Forgive me…” With that, Hollyberry adjusted the neck hole of the oversized sweater down with her eyes darkening at what she saw. The bruising didn’t look pretty with large splotches of dark blue and purple visible along Shadow Milk’s arm and stretching up his shoulder. She could even see some reaching his back as Jasper gasped.
“That's not ‘fine’ that's badly injured!” Jasper was incredibly concerned now he could see the extent of some of the bruises, and was looking to Pure Vanilla for reassurance and confirmation.
“He's healing still…I could only do so much for today.” Pure Vanilla sighed softly with his expression gentle but firm as he watched through his staff when Shadow Milk yanked himself away with his teeth grit.
“Don't.”
Dark Cacao, who had been watching silently, spoke up as he set his spoon in the now empty bowl. “You’ll regret letting your stubbornness become a weakness, you know…”
Eternal Sugar had been ready to join Golden Cheese in her teasing, but couldn't help but pause when she noticed the extent of the bruising…no wonder the eyes in Shadow Milk's hair looked about ready to bite Burning Spice when he'd slapped his back. In his shoes, she would've probably acted the same way or just avoided dinner all together.
Jasper was pinching the bridge of his nose as he spoke up. “Look, if you need anything, just ask. I don't care if it's the middle of the night, I don't want you acting like everything's fine when your hair eye things look like they're watering.”
Shadow Milk clenched his fists with his hair bristling as he fixed his oversized sweater. “I don’t need your pity…”
“Stubborn brat.” Hollyberry clicked her tongue before sighing and backing off. “But fine, I'll leave you be for now.”
Golden Cheese, who had gone silent when she saw the bruising, took the opportunity to speak up. “You may want to listen before your body decides to make you take the pain seriously on its own, beastie.”
Shadow Milk, not wanting to respond, put his spoon in his mouth despite the bowl he had being empty so the conversation would end.
Pure Vanilla watched through his staff before eating quietly. Hopefully, Shadow Milk would allow himself to be cared for when the time came for it.
As for Jasper, he would come to regret telling the cookie he didn't care if he bothered him in the middle of the night. Shadow Milk had taken full advantage of the permission to annoy him.

The Amalgamation Chapter 2 - Thorns and Brambles
As Dark Choco kept Fennel pinned against the trunk of the tree, he began looking around…after all, if they had any more of those spines he needed to get rid of them before anyone else got hurt. It was odd though…the smaller cookie wasn't trying to squirm. They were just shaking softly and trying to curl inward in his grasp as they tightened their grip on his arm and twitched their ears about in a wild manner.
“I'll ask again, what did you do to these cookies!?”
The yell seemed to be enough to spur the mouse like cookie into action. They squirmed in his grasp before managing to deliver a sharp kick to his chest and tearing free. Dark Choco lunged, but his hand just barely grazed their tail as Fennel scrambled into the branches, curling up tight against the trunk of the tree while their tail coiled around them. Fine then, if they weren't going to tell him anything, he'd handle things himself.
First things first, Dark Choco began looking around the makeshift tree igloo. There wasn’t much in the main area besides the injured cookies, but when he looked down into a hollow under the roots of the tree, he could see things such as jars, herbs, and even some of those strange roots that the smaller cookie had been gathering.
‘Why are they even gathering these…? Crunchy Chip Cookie had complained about just how bitter the roots were when he’d eaten one by mistake. Not only that, he remembered some of these herbs from Licorice Cookie’s rambling sessions…they were meant to handle poisons.’
Backing out from under the tree, Dark Choco let out a frustrated sigh before looking at the unconscious cookies. Notably, some of the spines appeared dry and cracking with a dull coloration compared to others that were a shiny black color. Deciding to try getting answers from Fennel again, he gripped onto his sword and hoisted himself up into the tree. Locking his eyes onto Fennel with a glare, he could see how they had curled up against the trunk with their tail wrapped so tightly around them it was almost like they were trying to disappear as their breath came out in quick and unsteady bursts.
The moment his hand gripped their arm, Fennel flinched violently with a choked sound escaping from them. Dark Choco saw how their other hand had shot up to their chest as the mouse like cookie’s breath quickened into something far more unsteady.
“Last chance…I won’t ask again…” To prove his point, he tightened his grip on his sword and unsheathed it slightly. Fennel however didn’t respond how he thought they would. There was no squirming, and they didn’t try to kick at him like they had before. They simply shook with their visible eye darting around as if looking for a ghost.
“Hey-” Though it wasn’t enough to allow the cookie to escape, Dark Choco’s grip loosened just slightly at the response he received.
“D-Don’t hur-hurt me-” Fennel almost seemed to stare through him as their paw gripped at their own chest tightly, as if trying to force themselves to stop shaking and speak. “S-Sorry I’m sor-sorry-”
That was enough for Dark Choco to realize what was happening. He knew he couldn't just let go, so he shifted his grip into something more steadying and softened his glare, albeit barely.
“You need to breathe…” He spoke up in a more quiet but firm manner as he watched the smaller cookies ear twitch…at least they could hear him. “Slowly in, and slowly out…”
Dark Choco watched as their breath hitched and eyes squeezed shut. It was clear Fennel was trying to do as he asked, inhaling and exhaling slowly, but the breaths were coming out choked at times as their body refused to obey. He let out a sigh through his nose and tried to keep the frustration to a minimum, but he needed answers. At this point he was starting to think there was a misunderstanding, but there wasn’t much he could do about that now as Fennel shook in his grip…they were going to pass out at this rate.
Taking a second to think, he loosened his hold and let go of his sword entirely as he had Fennel lean more onto the trunk of the tree.
“I’m not letting you go…” By this point, Dark Choco had lost his anger as his tone softened somewhat. “Breathe…”
It took some time, but Fennel’s breaths eventually began to slow down and their shaking had eased to the point that it wasn’t so easy to feel through his hand. Sitting on the branch now, Dark Choco gave them a minute or so of quiet before speaking up.
‘You weren’t the one to hurt them, were you…?”
Dark Choco saw as the Fennel gave a small shake of their head, still curled up and wrapped in their tail but nowhere near as tightly as before. Dammit…he pushed them into a panic attack for nothing.
“Alright…so you know what did?”
“M-Monster…”
That didn’t really answer the question, but then again, Dark Choco realized that to this small cookie a lot of things could count as a monster to them. Either way, he chose to drop it for now as he pointed to a cookie with more vibrant spines stuck in them.
“Why didn't you remove the spines…”
He watched as the smaller cookie climbed down from the tree in an unsteady manner before following after them as they made their way to the cookie in question. From their bag, Fennel pulled some roots and herbs from it before putting them in their mouth. Dark Choco was about to ask why when the mouse like cookie grabbed onto the wet looking spine causing black icing to spill out from where it was embedded in the cookie alongside the broken end.
“What the-”
He didn't even get a chance to yell before Fennel spit out a glob of ruby colored jelly onto the spines causing the icing to dissipate. Then, they moved over to a cookie who had dullard cracking spines in their arm and plucked them out with ease. Seems the spines had to be dried before they could be removed.
“I see…and moving them causes more poison to be released…?”
Fennel gave a small nod before moving to bandage the wounds now they were poison and spine free. That explains the herbs and roots at least alongside just how out of it the cookies were. Considering the cold outside and the poison, it was actually a good thing the cookies weren’t moved back to the Dark Cacao Kingdom. Many would have crumbled from the combination partway through the trip.
“Very well then…it seems I will remain in the area until these cookies are safe to leave your care…” Dark Choco tried not to wince when he saw the smaller cookie shrink back in response to his words. He couldn't blame them, to be honest…they had just been providing aid to these cookies, but he jumped to conclusions and instead believed Fennel was the cause of the disappearances and injuries.
“I'll set up a camp closeby…I would rather not intrude aftera-” Dark Choco paused when he felt a paw move onto his arm before looking to Fennel. Despite looking uneasy with him as a result of his transgression, they shook their heads before gesturing down to the hollow under the tree roots.
“Are you sure…?” When the mouse like cookie gave a small nod, Dark Choco nodded back before moving down into the hollow fully unlike when he peeked in before. Now he was fully in the hollow, he could see where Fennel had essentially set up a nest of blankets and pillows. With a sigh, he leaned up against the nest before closing his eyes as he kept his sword close. Even if they hadn't been proven to be dangerous yet, he had no way of knowing if they would attack in his sleep. He'd rather be safe than sorry.
Hours had passed since the red eyed cookie, Dark Choco, had gone down into their burrow. Fennel had been tending to the cookies that were healing within their home in the meantime, but their unease eventually got the better of them as they moved down into the burrow quietly. That was when they noticed he had chosen to sleep against their nest instead of within it. Did he not recognize that he could sleep in it, or had he simply wanted to respect their boundaries?
They looked over the larger cookie where he slept and kept back since he was holding his sword before pausing when they took notice of the scar over Dark Choco's eye. That had to have hurt…they didn't reach for it, but they did move a paw over their own chest with their tail curling close. Hopefully, it wasn't as painful as the one that marked them. Using their tail, Fennel moved a blanket over the cookie before quickly darting out from the hollow and into the branches of the tree. Unbeknownst to them, the other cookie had woken up when they'd first entered the hollow and watched as they fled.

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 8 - Into The Kitchen
As Lillian settled by the little pillow fort to watch over Shadow Milk, Jasper decided it would be a good idea to make something for dinner since during the movie he had the cookies with him snack on something, and gave some to the cookies who'd gone shopping when they came back. Plus, he noticed Burning Spice wasn't with the group and wanted to find out sooner rather than later if the large cookie was trying to break something.
“Anyone wanna head to the kitchen with me? Since it's kinda cold outside, I was thinking of making Dublin Coddle for dinner.” That caused Silent Salt to perk before standing up from Lillian's shoulder and making his way over followed by Hollyberry.
“Sure! After what we ate last night, I have to admit I'm curious about the kinda food humans eat.” Jasper softened at that before smiling and offering a hand to the two cookies to climb onto.
“Alright. I have a cookbook my mom gave me when I came here if you ever wanna look.”
While they went into the kitchen, White Lily sat herself outside of the pillow fort since she was worried about Pure Vanilla. What if Shadow Milk used this as an opportunity to attack him? She could tell Dark Cacao was watching the entrance based on the occasional glances, but considering he was further away, he would take longer to get there. That was when she noticed a faint sound slipping from the fort.
“I-Is that purring…?” Her words caught Golden Cheese's attention with the winged cookie flying down to listen followed by a curious Eternal Sugar. From the sidelines, Mystic Flour was watching quietly.
“Oh my witches he’s purring!” Eternal Sugar's eyes were wide in surprise as she listened in before Golden Cheese snorted.
“He sounds like a little cream lynx!” The golden sovereign was struggling not to laugh since it would interrupt the purring as Dark Cacao signed softly from where he was sat by Lillian.
“They're just having fun…there's no harm in that…” She brought a hand down to pat Dark Cacao's back with a finger causing him to relax just a bit before deciding to just watch for now.
In the kitchen, Silent Salt was looking for Burning Spice while the human was busy preparing the ingredients. He'd noticed the large cookie jump from Lillian's shoulder, but lost where the other had gone when he went to see Shadow Milk. Knowing him, he was probably trying to break something in one of the cabinets since he'd noticed the others' annoyed expression when they came home.
“Hahaha! Smashing these large forks to bits will be exquisite!”
At least he wasn't too hard to find…using his leg, Silent Salt pushed open a drawer where Burning Spice had already bent and broken a pair of forks before the larger beast turned to him. They spent a few seconds staring at one another before a chunk of broken form was thrown at him as the other cookie gathered up a few forks before running off with them.
“Stand in my way! I dare you!”
Jasper perked hearing that and looked over from where he was whisking some beef stock into the dutch oven since he couldn't buy the beer his mom used for the recipe before letting out a sound in surprise seeing Burning Spice running off with some forks followed by Silent Salt. Setting the whisk down, he reached and used his hand to block them before they got to the stove.
“Whoa! What are you two doing?!”
The human winced when he was bitten by the larger cookie for stopping him before picking him up like one would a disgruntled cake hound pup much to Silent Salts amusement as he watched Burning Spice drop his collection of forks from surprise. Perhaps he could ask for a spell to grow larger than the destructive beast so he could handle his chaos once they get back to Earthbread.
“HOW DARE YOU STOP ME!”
Hollyberry watched with a hearty laugh as Burning Spice squirmed around and bit at Jasper as the human held him before he was placed down on a separate counter followed by Silent Salt, who was quick to smack the larger cookie upside the head for trying to destroy the utensils. It reminded her of the kingdom where Wizard Cookie would often do something similar to Gingerbrave for being reckless. Though, Wizard Cookie usually had to stand on something to reach or simply go for the leg instead.
“Might wanna wrap that hand before you try getting back to cooking, Jasper!”
In the living room, Mystic Flour was watching quietly as Jasper moved to bandage where Burning Spice bit him before continuing with his dish. Such an odd human…so willing to suffer for nothing, and not minding it in the slightest. By this point, Cloud Haetae would have thrown a tantrum over it despite his insistence that he was mature…she shouldn't think of him. It would fill her with unneeded emotions, and she would lose the peace her apathy had granted her.
“Is something wrong…?”
Ah…the second human. They were surprisingly similar in demeanor and facial expression, to the point Shadow Milk said that Lillian was her human counterpart to try and get a rise out of her. Currently, said girl was watching her with a slight head tilt.
“Nothing that won't pass as all things do, for this is but a fleeting moment…”
“While fleeting, this moment is still here…are you thinking of something you cherish…?”
Lillian watched as the pale cookie almost seemed to flinch, even if just barely. She must be right then…and it wasn’t like she could do much about it either. Especially since she didn't know exactly what Mystic Flour was thinking of. Perhaps it was Shadow Milk? Then again, she would've had this moment earlier if that was the case…
“I won't pry…but Jasper is easy to talk with if you feel the need to…”
Dark Cacao watched from the sidelines, and though he wouldn't admit it, it concerned him how similar Mystic Flour and Lillian were to one another. The girl honestly almost appeared like a doll at times from just how still she could stay, and her tone carried that same melancholy that the apathetic cookies did. His worries were somewhat eased by how the girl still seemed to care, even if it was more subtle, but if he could help it he’d try and help her express more. Granted, it was hypocritical coming from him, but he could live with the teasing Golden Cheese would subject him to.

The Amalgamation Chapter 1 - Dark Choco Troubles
If someone had told Dark Choco a week ago that he would be called back to the Dark Cacao Kingdom, he would've asked if they were a fool. He'd been banished by his father, and even though they'd reconciled somewhat, he doesn't believe he has any right to return to his homeland. That didn't seem to matter too much to the advisors though when they sought him out after the disappearance of the ancient and beast cookies. While they were currently handling the kingdom affairs, something troubling had begun happening that they weren't prepared for. Cookies from the kingdom were starting to go missing when venturing through the Cream Cake Mountains. Normally, they would've sent Crunchy Chip Cookie to handle the issue since his Dire Creamwolf could track their scents no problem, but at the moment he was trying to help the Cookie Kingdom find someone who might know about the grimoire Shadow Milk had used. With the other residents having their hands full with handling the kingdom, that left Dark Choco as the only option left to look into the missing cookies.
“Caramel Archer Cookie would be better suited for this…”
At the moment, a blizzard was raging through the mountains leaving it hard to see much further than a few feet in front of him. The bright side was that this kind of weather drove many of the animals into their dens to preserve warmth, so it was unlikely that he would battle anything until it died down. As he trudged through snow up to his knees, Dark Choco noticed something in the distance and squinted his eye. Was that another cookie? What on Earthbread were they doing out in this weather alone? They seemed to be digging through the snow and gathering things as he began making his way over before calling out to them and causing the hooded cookie to freeze.
“You shouldn't be out in this weather! You'll crumble from the cold!”
The cookie didn't respond to him as they turned toward him slowly. Up close, he noticed something rather strange. They had a rather long tail that honestly reminded him of a Yakgwa Mouse, and similar paws as well. The only difference was the cream fur covering the appendages that blended in well with the snow. Dark Choco decided to ignore it for now as he stopped about a foot away from them. Their tail was curled close to them and twitching about in an anxious manner. Ah…he should've realized it earlier. He must have scared them when he yelled at them like that.
“I didn't mean to startle you…but this blizzard is much harsher than normal…”
That seemed to surprise the cookie as they looked up to him before looking down to his sword. Was that it? Did they think he was there to attack them? Sheathing his sword, Dark Choco watched as the anxiety and unease that the smaller cookie had showed diminished somewhat before they inched closer. They were small compared to him. While they'd both only be a handful of inches compared to a witch, when compared to one another they barely came up to his chest in height. How did something so small even manage to make it this far into the cake mountains? It was a miracle a Cacao Eagle hadn't already picked them off. Dark Choco was so lost In thought he didn't notice the cookie reaching for his arm until their paw brushed against his armor causing him to flinch back.
“M-Mind yourself…”
It was almost surprising how the cookie wilted when he flinched away before they spoke up in a faint voice that he might have missed if they had been any further away. The small cookie then pulled down their hood revealing a mouse-like face.
“Who are you…?”
“My name…it's not important. Why are you out here in this storm?”
“Gathering things…and you…?”
Dark Choco found himself getting mildly annoyed by that response. There wasn't anything worth risking being crumbled over to gather besides food, and he could tell the little cookie hadn't been looking for that. Either way, he chose to answer honestly since there was a chance they may know about the missing cookies.
“Some cookies have been going missing…do you know anything about that?”
He watched as the smaller cookie seemed to recognize something before simply turning towards a thicker patch of trees and starting to walk…getting a few feet before stopping and turning back towards him.
“Follow me…”
Since he had no other leads at the moment, Dark Choco followed after the mouse like cookie…at one point, having to hold onto the other's tail so he didn't lose them in the blizzard. He almost didn't hear them speak up thanks to the wind.
“Fennel Cookie…”
“So that's what cookie you are? Never heard of Fennel Cookies before though…”
Fennel didn't respond to that as they continued on their path. Despite their small size, they moved surprisingly well in the snow as Dark Choco tried to look around despite the heavy snow. They seemed to be passing through more of the forest and went past a dead tree before stopping in front of a large tree that had frozen over to the point that it made hollows where cookies could be sheltered from the snow.
“They're here…”
Stepping into the hollow in the ice, Dark Choco froze as he looked around. There were seven cookies tucked inside with a variety of wounds and looking half awake alongside half frozen. Some even had what looked like black quills sticking out from them or areas where quills had previously been embedded covered in a ruby colored jelly. Without any warning, he turned and pinned Fennel by the throat up against the trunk of the tree revealing one of the smaller cookies eyes…it was similar to Red Velvets right one with the iris being surrounded by a dark black, and the iris itself was a ghastly white with a red pupils in the center. The mouse like cookie seemed to stare through him wide eyed as he let out a growl.
“What did you do to them?!”

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 7 - Sick Day
The words from the girl were enough to grab Silent Salt's attention as he climbed onto the back of the couch and stood by a surprisingly concerned Pure Vanilla. From there, he could see Burning Spice crawling out from her hood and jumping onto a nearby shelf while Golden Cheese flew Hollyberry towards the truthful cookie and began to explain what happened.
“Shadow Milk ran off and got himself into trouble…”
The silent cookie ignored the rest since all he needed to know was that Shadow Milk got into trouble and was now paying the price for it…that didn't explain why he couldn't see him around though. Perhaps he was still hidden within Lillian's hood from embarrassment? Either way, he watched as Jasper and the girl got the bags settled and pulled certain things out from them. It didn't take long for Silent Salt to figure out where the theatrical cookie was seeing that Lillian was keeping a hand cupped close to her chest…a heartwarming gesture from such a cold girl.
Lillian was honestly pretty worried when she noticed how quiet Shadow Milk was being. While she hadn't seen what else the little girl did, Golden Cheese had told her of the tight grip she'd had on the cookie and could tell it likely didn't stop there considering the bruises that had formed during the bike ride home. If she had to guess, he'll be feeling bad for a good few hours before he gets back to normal. Peeking down into her hand so she didn't suddenly bathe him in light, Lillian could see Shadow Milk curled into a small ball with his hair having woven itself around some of her fingers much to her surprise.
“I might not be putting him down for now…”
“Why?!” Jasper nearly shouted before being shhed by Lillian when she saw how the loud noise caused the cookie to flinch and curl up tighter…safe to say he had a headache. Carefully, she adjusted her hand so Jasper could see her reasoning causing the boy to perk with a soft sound before chuckling.
“Kinda reminds me of a kitten…”
Dark Cacao made his way to the back of the couch where he could see the humans coming over before Jasper split off to gather something from his room alongside the goods Lillian had gotten from the shop…meanwhile, the girl in question sat down near them which let him see the beasts hair having curled around her fingers like a snake.
“Hollyberry already explained what occured…how badly was he injured?”
“Bruises here and there, and his head's probably hurting…”
He could see how Pure Vanilla's concern grew hearing that before letting out a sigh since he knew the healer would want to aid the beast despite what he'd done in the past. If he wanted to help, that was his own decision to make whether he agreed or not as Silent Salt made his way up onto the girl's shoulder to see Shadow Milk.
“Go ahead, but be cautious…”
During this, Jasper was gathering some of the softer things he had in his room such as old plushies he'd brought with him to college and  a softer blanket. As a kid, whenever he didn't feel good his parents would wrap him up all nice and cozy before making a pillow fort for him to hide in. Maybe that would help Shadow Milk feel better? And hey, Lillian even managed to get the little jester to pick out some clothes to wear! He'd need to make some slight changes though…this one felt too scratchy on the inside.
“I never thought that the sewing kit my cousin got me as a gag gift would come in handy, but alas, here we are…and I can't even thank him for it cause it'll sound really weird without context.”
From the doorway, Eternal Sugar was hovering about in a curious manner. The human knew how to sew? Considering how much of a bumbling fool Jasper seemed to be, it came as a surprise as she watched him fix small stitches and line the inside of the clothes with a softer fabric he snipped off from a clean shirt. Witches was she glad he changed the texture cause it looked like it could crumble someone from the feeling against their dough alone.
“I wouldn't take you as the seamster type.”
“Eh, I'm used to patching up things for my sisters…besides, it gives me a reason to actually use this sewing kit instead of having it be a paperweight on my desk. Was originally a gag gift from Ruben.
Meanwhile, Lillian had settled for using a thumb to stroke the small cookies back in a comforting manner as Silent Salt watched from up on her shoulder. The cookie almost seemed like he was going to scold the smaller in some manner until he saw the state Shadow Milk was in, causing him to simply remain on her shoulder for now. She let out a soft sigh…maybe she should've kept a better eye on them? She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice that Pure Vanilla moved over to her leg until he pat it softly to get her attention.
“W-Would it be alright if I saw him…? I’m a healer, s-so I may be able to help…”
Pure Vanilla watched through the eye of his staff as Lillian's eyes softened and expression turned somewhat gentle before her hand came down so he could climb up onto it. Clinging to one of her fingers, he turned his staff to where Shadow Milk was tucked into the girl's chest with her other hand so he could get a better look at him. From his vantage point, he could see a bruise that covered most of the other cookies' head alongside how still he was staying. Not only that, but the eyes in his hair almost seemed to be wincing as Jasper made his way into the room with Eternal Sugar sitting on his head.
“Got some pillow fort materials and a change of clothes if he's good moving from your hand, Lills.”
“Is that alright…?”
When Lillian moved her hand, Pure Vanilla watched as Shadow Milk barely peeked out and gave a small nod before letting Jasper take him so he could get changed. Meanwhile, the girl received the soft materials that she began to build a small fort with them, much to the curiosity of his companion Dark Cacao. Once she was done, he was set within the fort gently. He found that the inside of the was comfortable, and dimmed thanks to there only being one entrance to the fort. Hopefully, it would help Shadow Milk relax…for now, the truthful cookie sat himself down and waited quietly.
Shadow Milk was currently being carried by Jasper like how Candy Apple would an interesting bug. If he'd had more energy and didn't feel like someone used him like a ping pong ball, he would've already bitten the human or at least complained along the way. At least the clothes he changed into were comfortable. A loose baggy sweater that reminded him of his jester's top alongside some sweats. They didn’t rub against his bruises too much, so he deemed them acceptable. He was almost ready to try and fall asleep once Jasper set him within a pretty dark and comfy spot when he heard an infuriatingly soft voice speak up.
“Are you alright…?”
Pure Vanilla sighed to himself hearing Shadow Milk let out an almost childish groan before burying his face into a pillow to hide…the healer cookie moving over despite the action and brushing some hair from the other's face to show the forming bruise. When the beast of lies tried to swat his hand away, he was surprised by just how easily he was able to catch it.
“Honestly…there's no need to be like that. I'm simply trying to heal you.”
“Dun wannit…” That caused the healer to let out a soft snort since the words came out pretty muffled before continuing.
“You may be saying that now, but you know as well as I do that the pain will last for at least two days…now, come on. Lay your head here.” The healer simply sat on his knees before patting his lap.
Normally, Shadow Milk would've argued to the moon and back or teased that oh so silly Vanilly for wanting him to use the healer as a pillow, but he just didn't have the energy for it as he moved over and flopped onto the ancient cookie. The bruises that littered his body were aching and making his head spin, so once he had flopped down he closed his eyes tight to work through the dizziness. It wasn't long before he felt a hand imbued with healing magic stroking his head and steadily easing the pain. It was…soothing honestly. It got to the point that he couldn't help but doze off like this.
Pure Vanilla kept up the gentle strokes and softened seeing how Shadow Milk had dozed off before brushing some of his hair from his face and removing his cape to drape it over the beast. If he heard the beast begin to purr as a result of that, he made no mention of it.

Now this is what i call peak fiction! I'm very excited to see more chapters from you :D. Question: What will others do to adapt in human world and would PV, SM and WL be interested in human education and cultures?
I'm glad you're liking things so far! As for your question, they'll partially adapt through observation. For example, Golden Cheese will now be more wary of children thanks to what happened to Shadow Milk. Meanwhile, I believe that all three will be curious about human culture and technology since it's pretty different from cookie and witch culture. Pure Vanilla is the most likely to openly admit it without prompting compared to Shadow Milk, who's gonna deny it despite trying to learn about the computer through watching Jasper.

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 6 - A Dollightful Trip
When making the choice to go out to the hobby store, Lillian already had in mind what cookies she would be taking with her. She’d seen just how rambunctious Burning Spice and Shadow Milk were when the smaller cookie had been spraying the larger one with the sink hose, so she saw them as the most likely to sneak out into the world followed by Golden Cheese if they didn't get taken to see it by herself or Jasper. Meanwhile, Hollyberry could assist in keeping the three of them in check as they went through the store. Besides, she could tell that Jasper needed to relax even if it was only for an hour or so.
“Are you sure you don't want me to take them instead…? I really don't mind!”
“I'm sure…don't worry, it'll be alright…” As Lillian spoke, she gathered up the cookies that she would be bringing with her.
“Just…call if something happens, ok…?”
“I will as long as you rest some…”
“Fine…”
From Lillian's arms, Shadow Milk watched the exchange in a curious manner. This would count twice today alone that Jasper folded without even an ounce of fight left in him when he could've possibly gotten his way. Honestly, origami cranes would be jealous of how quickly he did it! By the witches even Mystic Flower didn't fold that fast, and she hardly even cared! With a huff, Shadow Milk settled himself into the crook of Lillian's arm to watch Burning Spice as the destructive beast tried to bite her through her sleeves. At least they'd be getting to explore more of the world they ended up in thanks to this.
“Are we going, or what?”
The girl perked hearing Shadow Milks complaint before looking down to him. “I need to explain some things before we get going…first, if you run into someone, you need to either hide or go completely still…maybe, they won't notice you…second, you can't run off…there are many places you can get lost, and unfortunately, many things that are dangerous for someone as small as you all are…and third, you can’t just grab something and take it…you need to pay for things or it’ll be stealing…is that alright…?”
Golden Cheese let out a scoff before nodding her head…these were the sort of instructions you would give to a child! She was the Golden Sovereign, not some fresh baby dough! The beasts seemed to equally dislike the rules they’d been given, but Hollyberry was all for it since it meant they’d be exploring this new world together as a team. Did this team really need to include Burning Spice though…? Any other beast would do! Alas, it seemed the human had made her decision as she made her way outside and completely ignored the beast gnawing on her sleeve.
Meanwhile, Jasper watched from the window as Lillian got on her bike before riding off towards the store with the cookies tucked into the hood of her jacket. He was pretty worried about the trip considering the antics Shadow Milk had already gotten into, and did she seriously not notice Burning Spice trying to bite her?! He took a deep breath before letting it out slowly…it would be fine. Lillian already set some ground rules for the trip, and Hollyberry would make sure the others followed them. As long as he didn’t worry too much about it, it would be fine…on second thought, maybe he could put on a movie to distract himself. And hey, he could show the cookies a favorite of his! With that thought, he moved over to the bookshelf where they kept all of their movies.
“How about we watch something while they’re gone? Got some good movies here along with some classics.”
“Is that truly what you desire…?”
The voice caused Jasper to pause and turn back to the cookies on the table…that didn't sound like Eternal Sugar cookie, nor did it have the gentle tone White Lily's voice did, so that left Silent Salt and Mystic Flower. Despite not knowing which cookie asked, he answered honestly.
“Yep! It'll help pass the time while we wait for them to get back. Oh hey, I thought we lost this one!”
Mystic Flour watched quietly as the human pulled out a case that had the black skeletal remains of a colossal beast in front of a red sun and seated above the words “Jurassic Park”. This human, despite seeming burdened, didn't pay it any mind at all as he moved and carefully scooped them up into one of his arms. She made no fuss as he moved them to the living room and pulled down a fluffy blanket from the back of the couch for them before setting them on it. With little fanfare, she sat herself down while Eternal Sugar hugged onto a portion of the blanket to nuzzle into and Silent Salt joined them quietly. There was no point in trying to argue with the human, so she didn't.
White Lily sat by Pure Vanilla with Dark Cacao moving to the healer's other side…what was the contraption the human was using? Was it an advanced form of a record player? In a black box below the larger one that had a piece of it that shone like glass when the sun hit it, Jasper was placing the disc he'd gotten from the case he'd picked in what looked like a specialized holder. Once he pressed a button, she watched as the holder slid into the black box before the glass on the box above it lit up causing her to squeak in surprise.
“W-What is that…?” Jasper, who had moved to sit near them on the couch, turned to her and seemed to realize something before speaking up.
“Oh, this is a TV! Down below it is the DVD player, and when you put in a DVD it shows you what was captured on it through the screen, which we call a movie. Can’t really change what’s going on in the movie, but you can pause it alongside selecting things from the title screen and skipping through it using the remote here.”
The human slid the remote over to White Lily so she could see it up close and told her what the different buttons did before offering to let her control the remote when they got to the next movie.
“A-Alright, I can try.”
During the bike ride to the hobby shop, the only issue Lillian had was Golden Cheese coming out from her hood when they were going downhill, resulting in her nearly being sent flying by the wind before Hollyberry and Burning Spice grabbed her. After that incident, the cookies had decided it would be better to stay tucked in the hood until they arrived. Once she stopped and secured her bike to the bicycle parking rack, she turned to look back Towards the cookies.
“Are you alright…? I heard you almost go flying…”
“Haha! If anything, the feeling of the wind beneath my wings was thrilling!” Even as Golden Cheese assured her she was fine and played it off, the girl noticed the subtle shake in her voice when she answered from times Jasper would try and say he was fine during horror movie night. It would be more believable if he didn't spend most of his time hiding being either her or a pillow. She decided not to bring it up for now.
“You need to stay close, ok…? Remember the rules…?”
“Yeeeees we remember the rules! C’mon let's gooooooo!”
Burning Spice could see that Shadow Milk was growing impatient, and honestly, so was he. Besides Golden Cheese nearly getting taken by the wind and the sights from the bike ride, this trip was so boring! It seemed the girl noticed the impatience since after the complaint from the blue cookie and his own growl she made her way into the shop. This area was far too…clean. Yes, the place looked a mess, but it was the kind of organized mess that he'd love nothing more than to ruin! If he had to pick, the floral arrangements by the front of the shop would be the first to suffer at his hands. Before he could climb down though, Hollyberry grabbed him by the back of his sash.
“And where do you think you're going?”
“Off to find some entertainment for myself…”
“Oh no you don't! Lillian asked us to stay together and keep out of trouble, so that’s what we're gonna do! Besides, we may find something entertaining yet besides mindless destruction!”
Hollyberry chuckled softly hearing the growl Burning Spice let out before she hauled him back into Lillian's hood as they walked down the isles of the shop and ended up in a section labeled for dolls. Across the shelves there were loads of furniture that was just their size alongside little utensils and such. They even had grand houses up on the top shelves! Having stood up to get a better look, she nearly fell from the girl's hood when she stepped back before a large hand moved to steady her. Afterwards, Lillian pulled out a device that honestly looked like a black brick covered in glass before the glass portion lit up and the girl pointed the stone portion towards the selection of furniture. After a click, she held it in front of herself and tapped away on it before waiting.
“That artifact of yours is rather strange, Lillian.” At that, the girl let out a soft snort before looking at Hollyberry and completely ignoring her surprise from the sound.
“This is called a phone…it lets you take pictures and videos alongside being able to message friends…like here, I sent Jasper the picture I took…”
Golden Cheese and Hollyberry both moved a bit closer when Lillian lifted the phone up to them where they could see the photo she’d apparently taken alongside a message of ‘Do they see anything they like?’ before Jasper responded with a photo of his own that had certain bags circled with different colors. Seeing that, Golden Cookie moved to gather those bags from the shelves.
“Be grateful that I chose to aid you!”
Golden Cheese flew to the higher shelves to carefully pull the bags down as Lillian gathered from the lower shelves and hummed softly to herself. Perhaps she could ask for that string of beads she'd seen along the way as a reward? They had glittered under the light of the shop as they passed, and each bead looked large enough that she’d need to hold one with both of her hands! With the final selected bag from the upper shelves gathered, Golden Cookie flew down to the girl who reached up so she had a place to land. This was when she realized that someone from their group was missing.
“Where did Shadow Milk run off to?”
The cookie in question had snuck off to explore while the others had been busy gathering those bags. So what if the human said to stay close?! He was the fount of knowledge for crying out loud! He didn’t need to have his hand held like a child who just told their first lie! With a scoff, he floated through the different isles and looked across the shelves. Some held jewelry he knew that Eternal Sugar and Golden Cheese would be enraptured with, there were sections of threads and fabrics that he could possibly ask the human to get for him, they even had artifacts and art! Just as he was entering an aisle filled with toys, he heard a young voice yell out saying they would be in the toy aisle.
“Uh oh…”
Thinking fast, the cookie turned himself into a plush of himself and hid it behind some of the other toys. Stay still and they might not notice, right? That was one of the rules? Unfortunately, it didn't help him as a girl who looked no older than 7 pushed past the other toys to grab him in a grip that was far too tight to be comfortable. Through his button eyes, he caught a glimpse of Golden Cheese before she flew off while the girl ran to who he presumed was her mother.
“Mommy! Mommy! Look what I found! Can we get her? Pleeeeeease? I won't lose her I promise!” If he had been in his cookie form and not being shaken around as he was presented to the taller human, Shadow Milk’s eye would've twitched at being called her instead of him.
“Alright…I’m already done shopping, so let's go pay for these and go home, ok?
“Ok!”
Still being held far too tight, Shadow Milk was carried towards the counters he’d seen at the entrance by the little girl who pretended to make him fly around like an airplane. This wasn’t good…he couldn't just disappear like this! It would raise far too many questions, and where would he even disappear too?! The girl smacked him against the counter top a few times to try and “get him scanned first” but all it did was make him ache and leave him dizzy as the human behind the counter ran him across a pane of glass a few times and grew frustrated.
“What aisle did you even find this in?”
At that, the woman gave a shrug while the girl made grabby hands at Shadow Milk. “I don't know, my daughter found it.”
“Well…since there isn't a tag, I guess I can just give it to her then. Never seen this thing here before, anyway.”
Just as the cashier went to hand the disguised Shadow Milk to the young girl, a gentle hand was quick to pull him away much to the dismay of the child. Lillian was panting faintly from having run all the way to the front of the shop as she held Shadow Milk close to her chest…she was glad that Golden Cheese had thought to fly up and search for him, or she might not have made it. Currently, the other cookies were hidden within the bottom of her jacket's hood to stay out of sight as the little girl tried to jump up onto Lillian and grab onto her arm.
“No! That's mine!! Give her back!!!”
“I’m sorry, but I lost him on one of the shelves…”
“I don't care!!! GIVE HER BACK!!!”
The little girl had begun to hit when the mother pulled her away and looked to Lillian in a both apologetic and pleading manner.
“I’m so sorry for Lucy’s behavior…is there any way I could buy that toy off you? You’re far too old for it anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem, right?”
Lillian's eyes hardened and grew cold despite her expression remaining the same blank one she always carried.
“I’m sorry, but no, he isn’t for sale…”
“I see…” Even though the tone was judging, the mother made no other comment as she paid for her things and ignored how the little girl screamed and cried for her toy back. “Have a nice day…” With that, she drug the little girl out from the shop whispering promises of ice cream for being good during the trip.
Lillian sighed in relief as she placed her things up on the counter before looking down to Shadow Milk…honestly, she had to give him credit, his disguise was amazing. If she hadn’t already known he had powers or just him in general, she would've assumed that this doll was just a strange toy. Grabbing her bags from the cashier after she paid for them, she placed them in the basket of her bike before starting to ride home. Along the way, Shadow Milk turned back where the others began asking what happened. Any other time he would've given a dramatic retelling of some sort, but right now, his head hurt too much to even consider it as he curled himself up in Lillian's hand.
Back at the house, Jasper was honestly having a blast! The cookies seemed to be enjoying one of his all time favorite movies and even though some would at times flinch or try to hide using the cookies near them, mainly Eternal Sugar or White Lily, they all seemed excited for the next one! He did have to pause a few times to explain things such as dinosaurs to them, but that made it all the more fun since it made them more curious! Just as he was going to grab the next movie, he heard the front door open.
“We’re back…”
Eternal Sugar sighed in relief hearing that oh so melancholic voice save her from another movie as Jasper went to the door to greet them. Yes, she did find it enjoyable, but parts of it made her dough crawl with anxiety she wasn’t all too used to feeling. At least White Flour and Silent Salt didn't mind when she ducked into them to hide, or she may not have survived the hour. Looking over to the ancient cookies, she could see they enjoyed it far more than she did.
“I must say, the experience was rather enjoyable despite the humans who were harmed. Hopefully, they found someone to tend to their wounds.” Dark Cacao spoke in a more even tone, but couldn't deny the movie was entertaining.
“I w-was so worried when that boy g-got hurt by the fence…”
“I’m sure he was alright afterwards, White Lily. I doubt anyone could leave a child injured like that.” Pure Vanilla soothed the white haired cookie before pausing and turning towards the front door…did something happen? Compared to the lighthearted tone Jasper had earlier, it had shifted to something more concerned, and even Lillian sounded like her even tone was strained to keep it steady. Using his staff, he saw the girl was cupping something in her hands, and one cookie out of the four who had gone was missing from her hood.
“He’ll be alright…he just needs to rest some…”

OvenBreak Havox Chapter 5 - Early Morning Mayhem
When Mystic Flour woke up, the first thing she noticed was that the human was passed out at his desk. Jasper was bent fully over with his head in his arms as he slept, and she knew that he'd likely come to regret resting that way as she looked to the other beasts. Silent Salt was keeping vigil from where he'd leaned up against a wall while Burning Spice drooled all over his pillow, Eternal Sugar nestled into her wings under the blankets, and Shadow Milk layed like a starfish on top of his bed…for such an ancient cookie, he had similar quirks to Cloud Haetae. That didn't matter much now though as the human woke.
Jasper sat up with a groan and rubbed his head before looking around in a sleepy manner…did he seriously pass out doing assignments? The last thing he remembered was Eternal Sugar landing on his shoulder before he conked out. She didn't do something, right? Eh, it didn't really matter…at least it saved him from oversleeping and leaving Lillian to do breakfast duties again. He really needed a shower though…the cookies would be ok with him not keeping an eye on them, right? Yeah, they would! Shadow Milk hadn't broken anything while he was working, and both Mystic Flour and Silent Salt were the best behaved of the group! Since the main trouble makers, Burning Spice and the blue cookie himself, were still asleep it should be fine! He was unaware that Silent Salt was watching as he gathered up some clothes and went to the bathroom.
It was the sound of the bathroom door closing that woke Shadow Milk up with the blue cookie stretching with a yawn before sitting up and running a hand through his hair. Floating up from the bed, he looked around to see who else was awake…though he didn’t really need to look in regards to Burning Spice since the large cookie was snoring into his pillow. So Eternal Sugar was the only other one asleep? Great! He floated over to her bed before shaking her and trying to tug the blanket away.
“Time to get up, Eternal Sugar!”
“Mnnoooooo…”
“Cmooooooon don't be a drag! we still need to explore this place!” Shadow Milk managed to pull the blanket from the pink cookie's grasp resulting in an almost childish whine as she wrapped her wings around herself. Well, she wouldn't be going back to sleep so easily, so he considered that a win! Now for the challenging part…Shadow Milk floated over to Burning Spice and shook him like he had Eternal Sugar before squinting when there was no response. He tried again, putting more force into it this time, but alas, still nothing. Honestly, how did Nutmeg Tiger Cookie ever wake him up?! Did she even wake him up?! At this point he was thinking the beast of destruction just woke up whenever he felt like it before he got an idea and grinned.
“Guess I'll have to destroy the door out of here aaaaaall by myself…”
“SNRK- Huh?” All the deceitful cookie would think as he watched Burning Spice shoot up to his feet was ‘I can't believe that actually worked…’ with Eternal Sugar sitting up too and pouting as she began fixing her ruffled feathers.
In Lillian's room, Dark Cacao had been the first to wake up with the purple eyed cookie sitting up and perking when he heard a faint humming coming from where Lillian had slept…the girl was dressed in jeans, a white shirt with blue flower designs, and a black zip up hoodie as she brushed her hair out. This was when he noticed just how long the girl's hair truly was. With her sitting on the bed, it came down to her mid calf area.
“I hadn't realized just how long your hair was, Lillian.” Hearing him, the girl looked over with a soft sound before resuming her task as she spoke up.
“I for one never cared for having it short…and it seems you don't either…” The normally melancholy girl almost sounded like she was teasing before Dark Cacao shook his head and moved to wake the others. He'd never been more glad that his companions were so easy to awaken besides a more stubborn Golden Cheese. She had tugged the blanket over her head before Hollyberry scooped her up saying it was time to start the day.
While the cookies got themselves woken up, Lillian began to think over the situation. How long would these cookies be here? Would they need a change of clothes at some point? Were baths something they could take, or were they like chinchillas who had to take dust baths? With a soft sigh, she concluded that herself and Jasper would just have to find things out as they happen…not to mention the fact that worrying over it wouldn't solve anything. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she almost didn't notice Golden Cheese flying in front of her face.
“I noticed you had some rather interesting gems stored within a box on one of the shelves. I would like to see them and find out where you acquired such things!”
Lillian immediately recognized what the winged cookie was talking about before moving towards a shelf and pulling down three display boxes that held a plethora of polished crystals, stones, and gems. As she did so, Golden Cheese perched on her shoulder to have a good vantage point before looking to the girl to explain her treasures.
“Some of these were gifts from my grandmother since she believed they could hold magic…and in this box I have some that I polished myself…” She opened the box before looking to where the golden cookie had perched. “I have to borrow Mrs. Covals rock tumbler from the science lab to do it, but she doesn't mind as long as I tell her…” Lillian picked up a polished and gray stone before holding up to Golden Cheese for her to see. “This one can be yours…”
At first, Golden Cheese squinted at the stone as the others moved over to see the other pieces of the collection curiously. Compared to the other crystals such as the pale pink one Hollyberry was holding or the rich purple one Dark Cacao looked over, this one was far less impressive and hardly shone at all! Even the pale blue crystal Pure Vanilla ran his hand along shimmered, and it looked like glass! Then, the girl turned the gray stone ever so slightly causing its surface to gleam a mix of blue and gold that rivaled the beautiful green and purple hues of the crustal White Lily was looking over.
“This is Labradorite…depending on the light around it, it changes color if polished right…”
As the others looked through Lillian's collection, Hollyberry perked smelling something in the air. Was the other human awake and cooking? It smelled pretty good! When the girl noticed the scent, she offered the cookies her arms to climb into with a soft sound.
“Smells like Jasper's almost done with breakfast…”
Meanwhile, Jasper had been having…a time, in the kitchen. Shadow Milk decided it would be funny to push Silent Salt into the batter for the cinnamon rolls, and the chase afterwards made a mess of the countertops. Not long after that happened he had to wrestle a sausage from Burning Spice who didn't want to wait until all the food was done. At least Mystic Flour and Eternal Sugar weren't getting involved with the antics…it was mostly the pink cookie playing with the pale ones hair as they waited for food.
Right about the time the cinnamon rolls would be coming out of the oven, Lillian came out from her room holding the ancient cookies in a gentle manner…Jasper perking when he noticed her before waving with a grin. When he'd finished his shower, he decided it would be good to do a tank top with a flannel over it and some jean shorts that reached his knees. Normally, he would've just gone with sweats and a loose t-shirt, but Eternal Sugar refused the outfit the moment she saw it. He couldn't blame her, the pun on that shirt was horrible.
“Sleep ok, Lills?”
“Yes…did you sleep at all…?”
“Mhm! A bit later than when you wanted but I slept a good few hours so I'm good! Breakfast is just about done if you'll handle getting plates.”
As she was grabbing plates, both humans seemed to realize that they still didn't have any sort of utensils that the cookies could use. For dinner last night they'd just used their hands, but that definitely wouldn't work forever…especially the thimble cups and water bottle lid bowls. Closer to where Jasper was, Burning Spice grumbled from where he'd been essentially put in time out by Silent Salt and watched the girl go about the task she'd been asked to complete. He was thankful that the kitchen wasn't quiet and controlled or he would've grown tired of it already. Was that taller human really plating their food for them?
“Alright, breakfast is served!”
With that, the group dug into their food as the ancient cookies spoke with one another in a friendly manner and the beast cookies messed about. During this, Jasper pulled Lillian aside with the girl eating a cinnamon roll quietly.
“So, any ideas on what to do about their whole ‘Everything is too big for me’ situation?”
“I know the hobby store is open today…I could go there with some of them…?”
‘What if they get seen?!” Jasper whisper yelled when he asked that…not wanting the cookies to overhear anything being said.
“I'll just bring two from each group and text you photos so the others can choose…unless you want to watch them all by yourself all at once…?”
“...I'll get my phone.”

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 4 - The First Night
Once dinner had been finished and the leftovers put away, which was chaotic in its own right thanks to Burning Spice and Golden Cheese competing to see who could eat more of the lo mein resulting in the entire container being eaten in the span of 3 minutes, Lillian had moved to do dishes while Jasper handled cleaning up the table. By this point, not only was it late, but Shadow Milk had gotten his strings off from her roommate…good thing she’d grabbed the food or he would’ve had an awkward time trying to keep the blue cookie hidden, especially considering he’d still tried to puppeteer him even after discovering that it hadn't worked the first time. As she placed the last cup in the dishwasher, Lillian perked hearing Jasper clap his hands together with the sound working to grab the attention of the cookies as well.
“Ok! Dishes are done, and the table’s clean, so what do we do about sleeping? Don't exactly think you guys all want to be grouped together.”
The cookies looked between one another before Dark Cacao stepped forward and looked up to Jasper.
“Considering how you handled Shadow Milk's…theatrics, it would be best if you were the one to keep an eye on the beast cookies. After all, you didn't show much reaction to his nor Golden Cheese's taunts, so you seem less likely to rise to provocation.” That and both White Lily and Pure Vanilla seemed relatively calm with Lillian, so he deemed her more trustworthy than the taller human who seemed to simply accept that he would be keeping watch of the beasts.
“Then let's get where you’ll be sleeping set up…” Lilian was gentle as she lifted up the cookies from the table…letting them climb onto her hands on their own before adjusting her arms so they could sit across them.
“Yeaaaah. Thankfully my sisters weren’t interested in that doll furniture you brought them from when you were a kid…you’re never getting those dolls back though.”
“I wouldn’t have offered them if I expected to get them back…come on…” Lillian began walking to her room with Jasper following after once the beast cookies had climbed up onto him. He did still need to scoop up Mystic Flour, but he wasn’t bothered by it since when he did she hadn't fought him on it compared to Burning Spice and Shadow Milk who were fighting over a spot on his shoulder since Silent Salt had claimed the other one and Eternal Sugar claimed the area right ontop of his head.
Lillian's room reminded Pure Vanilla much of Clotted Cream’s study with the bookshelves and the knick knacks scattered across the desk alongside papers. He could see that Golden Cheese was interested in a box on one of the shelves that seemed to hold gems, so he'd need to keep an eye on her for the moment. The five of them were set on the desk in a gentle manner before the smaller human pulled a box from under the bed and opened it up. Inside there was furniture that fit much closer to their size than the girls bed, and while the colors would be considered plain by Golden Cookie, the pieces seemed comfortable, and Lillian ran her hand along a piece of it in an almost fond manner before she gathered the little beds, couches, blankets, pillows, and chairs…splitting them into two groups evenly before moving to the door and handing Jasper his portion.
“Here…I had just enough beds for them all, and I brought some of the other furniture too for them to use…”
“Thanks Lills, I'll get this set up in my room before getting some sleep.”
“Are you going to sleep, or working more assignments…?”
Jasper winced slightly at that with Lillian staring right through him when he didn't respond before sighing softly and moving back into her room causing Shadow Milk to raise an eyebrow curiously.
“Just go to sleep before 12 am...goodnight, Jasper…”
“Night Lills. We can deliver the trays to our teachers tomorrow!” Jasper spoke up as Lillian closed her door before undoing her hair and moving to her desk where the cookies were…setting up the doll furniture for them and humming softly as she did so.
“I hope the furniture is to your liking…I’m going to get changed…” The cookies watched as the girl gathered some clothes before moving into a room connected to this one. After the door had closed the cookies waited a few seconds before Hollyberry spoke up.
“Do we know what kind of spell Shadow Milk used?” She looked across the others with each cookie shaking their head while Pure Vanilla seemed to be thinking.
“To be honest, he didn’t even know himself. He simply found the grimoire in his spire, turned to a random page, and cast. I may have been able to figure it out if the book had been transported alongside us.”
Hearing that, the other ancients sighed since that sounds about right for the chaos loving cookie before White Lily continued where Pure Vanilla left off.
“D-Does that mean we have no way back? I trust that Wizard Cookie c-can find the spell, but it m-may not have a way of r-returning.” That caused the others some worry before Hollyberry clapped White Lily on the shoulder causing her to squeak.
“Chin up, White Lily! I may not know much about magic, but one thing I do know is that it can always be reversed. Would be kinda weird if it couldn't.” Golden Cheese added onto that with her arms gesturing all around her.
“Besides, while where we are is quaint, there is still much to explore!” As well as much to find and gather…she wondered if that girl would part with some of those gems. Think of the Dark Enchantress and she shall appear as the cookies perked hearing Lillian come back with her hair braided and wearing a loose nightgown that went down below her knees. Seeing that the cookies were still awake, she tilted her head slightly before turning off the light and moving to her bed.
“Sorry if I interrupted something…goodnight, and sleep well…” Dark Cacao was almost impressed by just how quickly the girl had fallen asleep once she had gotten under her blanket before he and the others took that as their que to do the same…removing the more cumbersome pieces of their armor or clothing before getting into the doll beds Lillian provided and steadily dozing off.
Meanwhile in Jasper's room, he had set up the little furniture Lillian gave him on the dresser by his bed in case the cookies needed anything from him at night. Not like it mattered all that much though cause he was currently at his desk on his computer with Shadow Milk peering over his shoulder. While he may no longer be the sage of truth, that didn't mean he wasn't curious about what the human was doing! How did this contraption even work? Was it powered by magic, or some other energy source? Oh the possibilities of it all! Burning Spice had already fallen asleep alongside Mystic Flour, and Earthbread knows whether or not Silent Salt ever slept since he was currently leaned up against the wall instead of in a bed. As much as he wanted to stay up longer to watch Jasper work with this artifact he could feel his eyes burning from staring at the screen, so he decided to cozy up under the covers of the bed he'd picked.
Jasper let out a sigh and stared at his assignment due next week with slight disdain…while he still had a week left for it, and he had a good portion done, he had no idea how this situation with the cookies was going to affect everything. Would he have to hire a babysitter? Would that even work? How would he even begin to explain this to them?! His only saving grace was that it was Friday, so he had two whole days to figure it out. Until then, he was going to get as much done as he could ahead of time before anything else happened.
It took a few hours before Eternal Sugar was at her final straw. Honestly, did this human even rest? It had been hours since Lillian had bid them goodnight and he was still wide awake as if it was midday! What's worse is she could physically see and hear that he was tired! In the past ten minutes alone he had yawned at least twenty times, and his eyes kept drooping as he tried to read whatever was on that cursed artifact! Enough was enough, cause at this rate she wouldn't be sleeping until he did. Oh how she wished she could sleep through the crumbling of a thousand cookies like Burning Spice or Shadow Milk…with a flutter of her wings, she moved to hover by his shoulder.
“Do you have any idea how late it is?” She crossed her arms as Jasper flinched and looked at her in surprise.
“O-Oh, Eternal Sugar! I didn't know you were awake.”
“Answer the question, Jasper…”
“It's n-not that late! It's only…” Jasper looked at the computer's clock, and when Eternal Sugar followed his gaze, she saw the numbers down there showed 2:00. “...oh.”
“Yes, OH…didn't that girl tell you to rest earlier?”
“Y-Yeah, but I need to get these assignments done.” Eternal Sugar had to refrain from rolling her eyes when the boy gestured to the artifact and moved to turn back to it. That was when she got an idea. After all, Shadow Milk was still able to use his powers, albeit less effective on the humans, so perhaps she could too. She moved to sit on Jasper's shoulder before leaning up against his neck and steadily trying to put him to sleep.
“W-What are…you…” Considering how tired the boy already was, it didn't take long for him to start passing out.
“Theeere you go…now, slide the letters artifact forward…” It was almost laughable how easy it was to get Jasper to do as she said and slowly push the artifact away. “Good…rest now…”
As Jasper put his head down slowly and quickly fell asleep, Eternal Sugar wondered if it may’ve been a better idea for her to direct him towards his bed before simply shrugging it off. Maybe this would deter him from trying to stay awake the entire night again. Either way, she moved to the bed she had picked before pulling the covers up to her neck and curling up with a soft yawn.

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 3 - How The Cookie Crumbles
If you asked Jasper what he was going to do that night, he would've said something like play games or finish up some assignments early. Just normal stuff like that. What he didn’t expect was to be sitting next to his roommate and technically sitting across from the ten cookies he somehow managed to bring to life while waiting for some takeout. He still had to figure out how he managed that! He knew Lillian's grandma had some witchy folktale stuff, she even said so herself, but magic flour?! Honestly, Jasper was just glad that the cookies weren't scattered around the dorm where they could accidentally get crushed by something.
“Sooooo…does this make me like Frankenstein oooo-Ack! What the heck Lills?!
Shadow Milk didn’t even try to hold back his laughter seeing the smaller witch gently pop the one they’d first seen upside the head. Who would've guessed that witches did the same thing Silent Salt would? Out of all the beasts, Burning Spice was the one with the highest Silent Pop count so far followed by himself. He was a bit surprised that the taller witch didn't get genuinely upset though. Even Mystic Flour would get pouty over it, even if she would only do the bare minimum of a pout!
“Sorry about him…what are your names…? This here is Jasper, and my name is Lillian…”
Pure Vanilla was the first to step forward, albeit somewhat behind a wary Dark Cacao. “My friend here is Dark Cacao Cookie, Golden Cheese Cookie was the one that your friend saved from falling, Hollyberry Cookie is the one standing in front of White Lily Cookie with her shield, and I myself am Pure Vanilla Cookie. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He gave a polite bow before squeaking when Shadow Milk popped up behind him with a shout.
“Oh silly Vanilly, what kind of introduction was that?! That was soooo boooooriiiiing! Let me show you how it's done!”
Lillian watched quietly as the little blue creature, or cookie, seemingly formed a jester's cap from nothing before bowing with it in his hand much like a stage performer would…Jasper visible from the corner of her eye flinching back slightly when the jester tossed it into the air with a flourish causing the cap to burst into a small shower of blue stars that faded into the air.
“Raise the curtains for I am Shadow Milk Cookie, the beast of deceit! The beast of destruction who made things oh so fun with glass throwing is Burning Spice Cookie, and the beast of apathy who didn't even try to run is Mystic Flour Cookie!” With each beast introduced, Shadow Milk would fly over and essentially present them much to the exasperation of Dark Cacao. That cookie sure was…eccentric to say the least. He still had no idea how Pure Vanilla handled his confrontation with him. “And last but certainly not least, we have the beast of sloth who slipped right through your fingers, Eternal Sugar Cookie, and the beast of silence who added to the patchwork of slices on that hand of yours, Silent Salt Cookie! Now that, Pure Vanilla, is how it's done.”
Jasper couldn't help but laugh softly at such a dramatic display before clapping, especially since Eternal Sugar and Burning Spice had posed to add to Shadow Milk's performance. Even though he could see Lillian didn't react much to it, she had stayed focused throughout the blue cookies antics, so it was safe to say she at least somewhat enjoyed it. If not, she would've ignored him completely. He could see how the blue cookie grinned at the applause before bowing in a graceful manner and sending a smirk towards the smaller blond cookie who simply sighed and shook his head with a soft smile.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you all! Sorry about all of…” Poor Jasper looked at the 9 trays of chocolate chip cookies he'd made before these cookies, and all he could think was if offering one to the group would be promoting cannibalism before gesturing a hand to them. “...this…and for kinda screaming at you all when I opened the oven. Didn't exactly expect to find living cookies in there.” He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled in an awkward manner…should he admit that he made them with the apparently magic flour Lillian's grandma sent…? Nah…he really didn't want to get into that conversation right now.
“It's no problem! Always pleased to meet some new friends whether they be a witch or a fellow cookie!” Hollyberry, who had dropped her more defensive stance unlike Dark Cacao, smiled up towards the two witches brightly, completely unaware of Jasper pausing.
“...Not gonna lie, I would think that Lillian would be the witch…no offense.”
“None taken…” Lillian had laid her head down on the table to look closer at the cookies who seemed baffled by the statement Jasper had made. If these two weren't witches, what were they? Were they apprentices? Either way, White Lily relaxed a bit from the statement.
“I’m s-sorry if this comes off as rude, but i-if the both of you aren't witches, what are you?” The white haired cookie had come out from behind Hollyberry when she asked with her staff held close.
“We're humans…and while some humans are witches, we are not…I'm sorry if the belief we were scared any of you…” Lillian didn't try to move when the timid cookie moved up to her before placing a small hand on hers. Meanwhile Jasper looked to the beast cookies, as they dubbed themselves, and noticed Shadow Milk gained more mischievous expression hearing that.
W-Well, it's not like we asked…so there’s no n-need for that.”
Pure Vanilla smiled softly seeing his friend relax, even if it was only somewhat, before looking at Dark Cacao who still had his sword raised and placing a hand on it to gently lower it down. After all, besides Jasper's initial scream, neither human had tried to bring them any harm. The taller had simply been trying to ensure they remained unharmed. While Dark Cacao was still distrustful for the moment, he didn't fight against his companions' push seeing how the smaller witch had yet to grab onto White Lily despite her being so close. Things almost seemed peaceful for a moment before Shadow Milk snickered with a sharp toothed grin.
“Well considering neither of you are witches, we don’t have to be worried a single bit about you! Especially after I do this!” Jasper let out a sound in surprise when glowing blue threads wrapped around his wrists, ankles, and neck as Shadow Milk floated above him.
“Oh this is gonna be fun! Onward, puppet!”
Shadow Milk tugged at the thread connecting to his fingers, but instead of dragging the fool of a human along, he let out a yelp when he was yanked back…that couldn't be right…giving another tug, he found that Jasper didn't move a single inch no matter how hard he pulled! What Shadow Milk didn't realize was that his strings worked well on cookies due to being close in size to him, but a human so much larger wouldn't be affected at all. Golden Cheese, Hollyberry, and Burning Spice had begun to laugh seeing just how much the deceitful cookie struggled to pull the human along while Dark Cacao pinched the bridge of his nose with weary sigh and Silent Salt watched quietly. At the same time, Jasper watched as Shadow Milk struggled to try and tug him around. Was this how his dad felt when he tried dragging him around at the amusement park when he was 7? He kinda understood why he had laughed back then now that he was experiencing this.
“I'm just gonna get some drinks…you guys like tea? We have some juice too.” Jasper simply walked over to the fridge dragging struggling Shadow Milk along behind him.
“STOP IT! GO OVER THERE, PUPPET!!”
“No, I’m getting drinks, and I’m not a puppet. Name’s still Jasper.”
“GO THE OTHER WAY!!!”
“Nope.”
Eternal Sugar watched as the beast of deceit was dragged about by the human before looking to Burning Salt who had nearly fallen over.
“Shouldn’t we help him?”
“Why? This is far more entertaining to watch!” Burning Spice was grinning as Shadow Milk shouted…you’d almost think the blue cookie was the owner of a large cakehound with how he was being pulled!
“C'MOOON JUST GO WHERE I SAY!!!”

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 2 - The Chaos Begins
The witches scream was enough to scatter the cookies further with Dark Cacao pulling out his blade alongside Silent Salt while Hollyberry backed away with White Lily behind her. Golden Cheese, Eternal Sugar, and Shadow Milk were quick to take to the air to get out of reach as well as survey the area they were in. For a witches house, it sure was strange…clean too besides all the beascuits that were laying on trays across the countertop. Golden Cheese could swear there were artifacts along one of the shelves away from the kitchen, but she had no time to think further on it as the witch tried to reach for her.
“Haha! How pathetic to think you'd be fast enough to catch me!”
Meanwhile, Lillian finally perked and looked to the kitchen hearing a small but new voice ring out. From where she'd settled herself on the couch, she could see what seemed like borrowers from the stories her grandmother would tell her, alongside Jasper struggling to try and catch them all. Deciding that he could handle that himself, she turned back to her math assignment. That didn't mean she overlooked the small creature that climbed up onto the table though. They were panting slightly as they finally reached the top before lifting up what looked like a staff made from a metal sunflower. The eye within the flower's center eventually settled on her, causing the creature to freeze and back away slightly before Lillian looked back to her homework. If the little creature wanted to approach her, she wouldn't stop them.
Pure Vanilla used his staff to peer up at the second witch as she paid him no heed despite having noticed him. She seemed entirely focused on the paper laid in front of her and after watching for a few seconds, he inched forward to see what had her so enthralled. Some of these equations were familiar from his time at the academy, and Alchemist Cookie had brought him one of the finished ones on the paper just last week for him to check over. Now fully overtaken by curiosity, Pure Vanilla didn't even notice how close he'd gotten to the paper, and by proxy the witch, until his staff almost bumped against the pencil she was holding. That one equation…did she notice the mistake in the second part of it? Maybe he could point it out? He could hear the chaos happening in the kitchen as the first witch tried to gather all of the cookies together, and Pure Vanilla couldn't help but feel somewhat bad hearing Burning Spice join in on the chaos with the shattering of glass.
Jasper was pinching the bridge of his nose somewhat with one cookie currently sitting in his hand before he set her, or at least the pale cookie looked like a her, on the counter by the sink. The largest of the cookies had thrown a glass at him when he tried reaching for them, so he chose to avoid that one for now, and the cookies currently flying were honestly a lost cause unless he wanted to try climbing up onto the counter like that one time a wasp got in. That left the two sword wielding cookies, the shield cookie, and the little flower cookie…man, these guys were tiny. And they could talk too! The flying gold one taunted him whenever he’d tried grabbing her, and the blue clown one had done the same before he shifted to the cookies who stuck to the ground.
“Look, how about we calm dow-Agh!”
Dark Cacao struck fast when the witch reached for them and left a wound along the inside of their hand. While he hadn't seen where Pure Vanilla had gone, he could at least be assured that the healer would remain safe until they could find somewhere to take cover.
“You dare threaten my companions and I…” While he wasn't considering Silent Salt a companion, Dark Cacao could at least respect that the cookie was currently standing his ground. He could see Hollyberry out of the corner of his eye where she'd taken root with White Lily behind her shield, and it's good she’d been so quick to defend the pale cookie. After all, she froze the moment she spotted the witch looming over them like a dragon who spotted intruders within its nest.
In the living area, Lillian glanced at the small creature now standing close to her hand as they examined her paper…even though the staff they had seemed to be doing the examination. After a few seconds, they moved onto the paper before tapping the end of their staff against one of the problems, to which Lillian's gaze followed the sound.
“It appears there is a mistake in this equation here, ma'am.”
This little creature sounded like a boy, and he'd spoken up softly compared to how loud the others were. She tilted her head to the side and looked to the problem he'd pointed out before noticing that he was right. She'd made a mistake on that problem there and hadn't even realized it…once she corrected it, after allowing the little creature time to move away before she did so, Lillian turned to the little creature before speaking up.
“Thank you…I hadn't noticed I messed up…”
This witch was rather peculiar paired with the one in the kitchen. The one in the kitchen seemed very loud and expressive, while this one was reserved and honestly reminded him of the doll Shadow Milk had placed in his chambers during his stay at the spire. Perhaps they worked to balance one another out? Either way, Pure Vanilla smiled before moving over to the witch's hand which still held onto the pencil.
“There's no need to thank me, I'm glad to have been helpful.” With that, he placed his own hand on hers softly before perking when she set her pencil down before holding it open for him. She hadn't made any attempts to grab him like the witch in the kitchen, and this seemed more like an offer to carry him than an attempt to contain him, so Pure Vanilla climbed up onto it carefully and held onto one of the witch's fingers to keep steady. Her hand was warm as she brought him close before bringing her other hand up to stroke at his cheek with one of the fingers. The witch still had a blank expression on her face, but her eyes were warm as she cupped her hand to keep him from falling before making her way to the kitchen.
Jasper at this point had managed to contain the largest cookie, but only because said cookie had climbed up onto the counter next to the first and only one he'd grabbed. She was just sitting calmly as the large red cookie discovered that trying to break the sink sprayer was a bad idea when it suddenly sprayed them in the face, and the blue jester cookie had gone over to spray them again after having seen that. He still had to make sure the other two flying cookies didn't get hit by the ceiling fan, so he turned to the cookies who currently stood their ground before speaking up.
“I'm just gonna let you four calm down for abit…hey! You should come down from there!”
Eternal Sugar watched as the witch tried to coax them down before rolling her eyes with a sigh as Golden Cheese chose to fly towards the living area instead, only to get smacked out from the air by what looked like a windmills’ blades. She didn't even try to hold in her snort watching the witch scramble over to catch the falling ancient cookies as the second witch who had been ignoring the situation finally came over…and it appears as though she's caught Pure Vanilla.
“Phew…waaay too close there…you good?”
Golden Cheese cookie glared up at the witch who held her in his hand like a mere injured blueberry bird before noticing the second witch from the living area approach who was holding Pure Vanilla In a similar manner as her.
“You can stop grabbing at them, Jasper…they won't bite…” The witch's voice was surprisingly quiet as she crouched by where the other ancient cookies had taken root before carefully letting Pure Vanilla climb down, where Hollyberry and White Lily were quick to check him over followed by Dark Cacao.
“O-Oh witches, are you alright Pure Vanilla? You weren't hurt, w-were you?”
“Don't worry, I'm unharmed. The witch was rather gentle when carrying me in her palm.”
“I can't believe you got a witch to carry you around like that! Golden Cheese up there had to get swatted from the sky for it!” The small cookie nearly fell over when Hollyberry smacked his back before Dark Cacao approached.
“You shouldn't have let your guard down…”
“I didn't until she had first, my friend.”
Jasper meanwhile looked to the cookie, Golden Cheese apparently, in his hand before setting her down with who seemed to be her companions before crouching down near the armored cookie who was sticking more to themself and still seeming wary. The pink flying cookie had already moved to join her companions by the sink, so he could at least get this one there as well. He'd just need to make sure to get the bandages once he did since he doubted he would get out of this unscathed.
“Need help getting to the counter? Might take a bit to climb up yourself…”
Silent Salt simply held his sword out to the witch and stared him down before looking towards Shadow Milk and the other beasts…Mystic Flour had been so complacent to be picked up, and the witch hadn't betrayed her when she allowed it, so after an initial slash in warning he climbed up onto the witches hand and let himself be carried up onto the countertop where Burning Spice was chasing after Shadow Milk for spraying him. He had expected to be dropped honestly, but the witch just slowly turned his hand to let him down.
“You can't fault me for some tomfoolery! Your face was priceless!”
“GET BACK HERE!!!”
Lillian watched as the cookies chased one another around or steadily relaxed before turning to Jasper who had begun to bandage the slices along his hand. Maybe she should've come to help sooner, but there was nothing she could change about it now since things had settled somewhat. She did however decide to ask something.
“Should I start getting ready to make dinner…?”
“NO No no don't trouble yourself with that! We can just order take out!” Lillian never understood why Jasper always sounded so panicked whenever she mentioned cooking considering he would always eat when she made something, but she wasn't going to try and push the issue this time. After all, with these little creatures now in their dorm, they had some things they might need to discuss.

OvenBreak Havoc Chapter 1 - The World of Humans
The Cookie Kingdom had become rather lively since it was first rebuilt by Gingerbrave and his friends, and over time the cookies fell into a sort of routine such as Carrot Cookie dashing around early in the morning to handle the farms while Avocado Cookie would warm the forge in the smithy to get things started bright and early with the help of Butter Roll Cookie. Unfortunately, the beast cookies had also developed a routine of occasionally causing chaos within the kingdom for the fun of it. Mystic Flour and Silent Salt were the easiest ones to handle since they just seemed to wander the kingdom most of the time, but the other three would destroy property, spread rumors and lies, or just create problems in general to get under the skin of the ancient cookies. This was one of those very times as Golden Cheese distracted her beastly counterpart from ripping up one of the Jellyberry trees as Shadow Milk messed about with the oh so patient Pure Vanilla and Hollyberry chased after Eternal Sugar. Dark Cacao and White Lily followed after their Soul Jam counterparts in the meantime since neither had done anything as of yet despite their proximity to the other beast cookies.
“Could you STOP TRYING TO USE THAT JELLYBERRY TREE AS AN AXE!?” Golden Cheese sounded enraged considering White Lily had been planning on making a pie that day with the younger cookies as the beast responded with a condescending chuckle.
“And where is the fun in that?”
The cookies who were currently watching from within their homes could tell this was going to be a very long day…and that sentiment only grew when Shadow Milk pulled out an ancient looking grimoire. If any other of the beast cookies had been the one with the book things would have been fine, but alas, it was the most chaotic of the group who had it and it was going to become everyone's problem.
“Shadow Milk, what is-” Pure Vanilla focused his staff on the grimoire, but Shadow Milk was quick to hide its pages as he interrupted the healer.
“Oh, just something I found tucked within the recesses of my spire! I don't even know what it does, but then again, that means you don't either!”
Shadow Milk snickered as he flipped through the grimoires pages to find what spell he should try first before stopping on a page that had a rune on it. The rune itself reminded him oh so much of the witches oven, so what better spell to use? He placed the grimoire in the grass before slamming the bottom of his staff into the center of the rune.
The only warning the cookies, beast and ancient alike, received came seconds after the deceitful cookie brought down his staff with a shout of “Let’s try this one!”...all the cookies within their homes saw was a bright flash of light that engulfed those outside, and when that light finally dissipated, there was nothing left besides the grimoire still laid across the grass before it closed on its own. Gingerbrave was the first to the scene followed by Strawberry Cookie and Wizard Cookie, with the caster lifting the grimoire up with a worried expression.
“This can’t be good…”
Meanwhile, in a college dorm in the city, Jasper Haley was waiting for his chocolate chip cookies to finish baking. He had just finished a group project that had been assigned a week ago and was due that very night. Now, you would think the reason the project took so long to finish would be because he and his group forgot about it until the last minute, but that’s not the case. The other 3 people within his group had told him they were far too busy to complete their sections, so he'd spent the entire week juggling the group project by himself alongside his own assignments and ones that his peers had asked for help with. With all the stress that had been building up over the week,it was only a matter of time before he took over the kitchen and filled it with confections. His roommate, Lillian Lynch, was doing some homework in the living room as he paced around the kitchen and waited for the cookies to come out of the oven. She couldn’t even begin to tell you just how many times this had happened unless you were prepared to spend the next two days talking about it.
“How many batches are you making this time…?”
“This batch is the last one, and I think there’s…” Jasper paused to count the cookie trays across the counters that were currently cooling the chocolate chip goodness before speaking up with a sigh. “9 other batches…”
“Should we give some to the teachers…? We couldn't eat them all last time you made this many…”
“...Yeah.” Jasper can still remember just how many cups of coffee he drank during that finals week. “...At least we know Mr. Stolly will take a batch or two for his kids.”
Unbeknownst to him, the cookies within his oven had disappeared and were replaced with the ancient and beast cookies who recognized the warmth of the oven as they stirred. After all, they were all created from one, though the inside of this one appeared different. There was no fire even if the air around them felt warm, and it had a much sweeter smell than they remembered as White Lily sat up holding her head.
“What on Earthbread happened…?”
The others could only ask themselves the same before turning to Shadow Milk with Dark Cacao and Golden Cheese squinting at him alongside Hollyberry and Eternal Sugar. Seeing all the glares being sent his way, the beast of deceit rose his hands up in a placating manner while Burning Spice ran his hand along the metal tray they were on.
“In my defense, I didn't know what would happen!”
“If you didn't know what would happen, why did you use that spell?! You could've crumbled us too, you know!” To the surprise of the other cookies, Eternal Sugar was the first to speak up with Mystic Flour sitting quietly alongside Silent Salt and opening her eyes to look around with a blank expression. Dark Cacao was the next to approach and speak up.
“Why even bring a grimoire you don’t recognize into a battle?”
“To see what it does, obviously! Do you even have a brain in the-” Shadow Milk stopped when he heard what sounded like an alarm clock ringing with the noise catching the attention of the other cookies as well…just where in the world did they end up?
“Well, looks like the cookies are done!”
Jasper put on the oven mitts his mom had gotten for him before opening the oven and pulling out the tray. The boy paused seeing what was most definitely not his chocolate chip cookies on the tray, and could only stare seeing that these cookies moved to look at him with wide eyes. He turned to where Lillian was sitting on the couch slowly before speaking up.
“Hey uh…Lills? The flour that your grandma sent was in the black container, r-right…?”
Lillian didn't even look up from her paper as she answered him, more interested in finishing the assignment. “No, I had to use the clear container because the black one was in the dishwasher…”
“Oh…” Jasper turned back to the tray and could only watch as the cookies suddenly scattered and began running off from the tray and out from the oven. He really needed to ask Lillian to label the stuff her grandma sent her. “AA-”

Some information before we get started!
This Fanfic follows the ancients and beast cookies if they were thrown into the human world, and as such, the following information for our protagonists will be as follows.
Tumblr media
Roomate 1-
Lillian Lynch
Age 19
Height 5 ft 2
Born in a small town that was surrounded by thick forests, Lillian was raised by her grandmother who often told stories of witches and old fairytales that often got disregarded. The old house was filled with faded photographs hidden in nooks and crannies many wouldn't think to look, and with each one Lilian felt a connection to a past she could only witness through these little glimpses. Unfortunately, that connection left her feeling like an outsider as her peers focused on popularity over the fiction she loved. Eventually, she adopted the goth aesthetic which only set her further apart. In college, she's taking classes more focused on music which was a passion ignited in her childhood when her grandmother showed her the piano her grandfather had built. Classmates from before and during college remember her best for her doll-like appearance and lack of facial expressions even as her peers joked. Despite her lack of expression and aesthetic, she can be caring even if it's subtle. The only downside is she will often unintentionally forget her own needs and not even realize it until much later.
Roomate 2-
Jasper Haley
Age 19
Height 5 ft 6
Jasper was born to a close-knit family in the city with his cheerful disposition and ability to connect to others causing neighbors to grow fond of him quickly as he grew. As the oldest siblings of 3, he often ended up as the designated babysitter during family gatherings with his parents having instilled him with a sense of responsibility and deep empathy. Classmates from before and during college gravitated towards him due to that alongside his unyielding willingness to lend a hand. Whenever someone seemed to struggle with an assignment, Jasper was always there to help with other's needs being prioritized over his own. And so, he went to college to become a teacher. Unfortunately, this willingness to help has become both a blessing and a curse in college as peers take advantage of it so he'll simply do the work for them. As it all piles on and he struggles to juggle building anxiety over grades with his wish to help, he's ended up with a surprising hobby of stress baking instead of actively admitting his issues out loud.

Side Story - The Amalgamation
This Fanfic follows Dark Choco cookie as he tries to figure out, after the disappearance of his father, why cookies are disappearing from the Dark Cacao Kingdom. There, he meets a strange cookie going by Fennel Cookie.
Tumblr media
Franken Cookie/Fennel Cookie
Once a timid but kind sugar cookie who's help went unnoticed, Franken Cookies life took a drastic turn when he was captured by a witch who had been filled with a twisted desire to create something nobody else had seen before. Alongside other unsuspecting cookies and cake monsters who had already been captured by the witch, the sugar cookie was forced through twisted experiments where he was combined with their remnants, taken apart, and put back together again and again. After days cloaked in darkness and incantations, Franken Cookie emerged as something not fully cookie anymore. Where he once had soft dough, he now had thick icing like fur. Eyes that used to be a soft blue were now a ghastly white that peered straight through the soul. The final straws that broke him were the combination of fangs meant to lock and tear, claws that dug into his palms, horns like molten jam leaking from a wound, and a long tail that seemed to bloom into a red icing flower at the end. To hide his true nature once he escaped, Franken Cookie adopted the timid mouse like appearance of a Fennel Cookie. He found he could hide his monstrous appearance by folding in the flower at the end of his tail and focusing on keeping the red jam that formed his horns and claws within himself. Like this, he could venture through the land without drawing too much attention to himself. There was one thing he had to be careful of though...his reflection. No matter how well he hid the monster he became on the outside, the reflections of glass and sodawater when he passed always showed the amalgamation he'd become, not his disguise. Because of this, he took to hiding in a place where his reflection would be scarce...the giant icing ridges and cream cake mountains of the Dark Cacao Kingdom.
Franken Cookie is a Charge Cookie but retained the healing abilities he had while he was Sugar Cookie. This works especially well on poisoning as he takes materials and uses them to create globs of ruby colored jelly. He barely comes up to Dark Choco's chest.
