2018 is the year of recovering from the past 5 years in every possible way

when it happened, I felt the world flip on its axis the ice caps started melting faster more water, more water, when it happened, the only thought I had sat in the empty ampitheatre of my head and screamed so loud that the echoes got scared WHY HIM? most days bleed into your name before I can put a bandage on them. WHY NOT ME? why didn’t the water take me? all love and limbs into the darkness? why him? I’ve wanted to die since I knew how heavy it was why him? I’ve wanted to die since before I loved him I am trying so hard to wake up on my 23rd birthday and stay away from the open window, from the sharp objects, from the Advil on his birthday, it is harder on his birthday, everything feels like an ending on his birthday, my body feels like an unmarked grave WHY HIM? will be carved into my tombstone even though no one will have the answer but until then, until then I must remember that I did not die that day even though a part of me tied cinder blocks to its feet and jumped into the water after him I am still alive even though no one will tell me why I deserve it I am I am I am I am I am Happy birthday, my love I miss you I am trying so hard to stay.
