Let the games begin... kind of.
Well it's hard to say that the 2012 games haven't be quintessentially British. Not only do the first of the "events" kick off two days before the opening ceremony, but the overpaid team of morons; who's one function is to pick the flags that appear on the big screens try to re-start the Korean war with a typically British cock up. But that was yesterday, and the games truly began with team GB's mens football team kicking off for the first time.
"Oh!" I hear you call, what about the Women's football yesterday... who gives a fuck, I've seen more pace watching a salt burned slug dragging itself to death through porridge.
So how did super team GB... minus two of four nations and one welsh cunt get on?? Well I've never seen 11 players fill a stadium to the brim with such expected mediocrity. Let's talk defending; 3 leftbacks, just to clarify there is only one leftback position on a single team! Ok so you can get away with a wrong footed player at fullback and give him his credit Bertrand played pretty well; but it is a well known fact that Richards is fucking woeful at centerback. He might be big and hulking, but his spacial awareness is akin to a drunken possum stumbling to his roadkill cafe afterlife. I might sound like I'm being too harsh, ok first half team GB did well, snatching a lead via Bellamy's strike. But it's a game of two halves so they say, and in said second half Daniel "all hopes lie with you" Sturridge was taken off. I've said for a long time that our performance in these games may lie with how well the Chelsea youngster plays, but he just didn't look sharp. Fair enough to the lad, he has just gotten over a bout of meningitis, a disease that kills about 3400 a year, sooooo no real blame with him. The problen with this team is the same with any England team, theres no real class. I'm not sure what people expect of Giggs, but he's the teams tolken old cunt. And so what his free kick led to the goal, unfortunately for him most of the game  wasn't played from the dead ball situation. Ramsey gave the midfield a boost but it just wasn't enough. Senegal were the better team second half  and deserved their equalizer. It's worrying now that the UAE looked pretty sharp and I can't see Uaregay being beaten in the group stages. Oh well we've always got the cycling i suppose. As for man of the match that goes to Ravshan Irmatov who's performance made sure that team GB weren't the biggest joke on the pitch tonight.
One minor side note, Japan managed to out play, out class and out Spain.... well Spain to come though one nil winners. Which as an oriental Asian makes me extremely happy! I mean fucking hell what a year for Asian football! Kagawa to united now this! Fuck me, I might be Thai but seeing as good football is pretty hard to come by out that way I'll take this as a victory for Asians everywhere!
