Cultural Adaption
“Brazilian butt lifting”, “Buttock injections”, Etc. are a cultural adaption that has trumped natural selection. As we grow up our butts come in different varieties. Some are lumpy, Oval, Fat, Small, etc. “Booties” grow naturally however, Our last few generations have been lumping their butts to the max to get the banging body of celebrities just to flaunt their curves or even gain a better body to please their significant other. Rappers back around the 1980′s even rapped about how popular having big butts are, for example “baby got back”. Celebrities, songs, and the generation we live in try to normalize and make butt lifting an important factor for a lady to have even though it is very risking and can be life taking. Butt lifting has a neutral impact on our generation. It has its pros and cons which no one can control because an individual is going to do what they want to do with their body regardless of the effects or bad news we hear of it. Butt injections will always be a thing in todays society.

Fieldwork #4
For this weeks Fieldwork I decided to observe my Math 109 class. Taught by Mr. Yilmaz. I thought since this is a math class it’ll be more interactive and more interesting to observe.
There are about 15 girls and 10 boys. In a small cooped up room, G10.. Carniege. Nobody ever raises their hand, Most of the time it’s a girl answering or responding to the problem, unless a male is confused then he questions the professor. Other than that females speak a lot.
Each male or female only uses about 10 words no more than 15 everytime they talk because they are either saying a one word answer to see if their Math problem is correct or Getting clarification on how to do a problem. The males seem to be more shy or portray the Idea of “I know this already”
Body language is about the same except for males stay a little slumped in there chairs but there is no difference and the style of speaking is just about the same, Everyone just yelling there answers abruptly.
The instructor is a man, he does try to encourage communication by just calling on people to get a response and if no one answers he just says “You guys need to know this.. how u going to learn and study”, regular teacher stuff. Also he has a accent, So In the beginning he came off rude and weird so many students just brushed his talking off.
He does not call on women or men in particular it’s really at a random. He is more on the side of just calling on the student who seems more eager to answer, so it’s not really a influencer in the classroom. His gender does not influence the way he interacts with the class at all.

Fieldwork #3
Mapping a block...
The location I chose was the little intersectiong right when you walk out of holmes hall and you’re heading towards the bridge. I chose this location because I nearly see it everyday going to EVERY class and its a very interesting spot to me.
I noticed that times during my 8am, which is 8:00 to 8:50 am the area is more suttle and quiet. It tends to only be about a hand full of students walking, I can hear the construction going on across the bridge from where Im at and not to many people are stopping to social socialize, just alot of speed walking. Ive noticed these large poles with Moragns sign on them that I haven’t really paid much attention too, but thats about it. This area is very open because lots of students and faculty pass through this area just to get to Carneige, Holmes, Harper, Etc. The area’s optional pathways, as I observed, gives us the opportunity to go different ways to different buildings.
If I compare this location on different days it is about the same.. Nothing really changes, trash cans still in the same place, security guards in the same spot.. ONLY the students change. As I mentioned above around the time of my 8am its just a handfull of students scattered around.. either racing back to their dorm or going to class. Compared to observations made around the time of my 3pm class, this intersection was packed! Kids stopping to hug each other, socialize, some had airpods in, it was just a hude difference in the environment and how it felt. It felt more interactive later in the day and it was more to see. I could smell the different foods of kids eating as they walked compared to earlier in the day when all I could smell was a breeze of air. I could smell the perfume and cologne on student bodies as they shuffled pass me, the yelling of girls at their boyfriends or friends just to have dramatic convos. It was a big difference to me that I’ve never cared to think about until now.

Field Work Assignment #2
Tumblr media
Time to get busy with organizing..
Clothing Items:
Shirts (About 90+)- 300$- Need- I think the amount of shirts I have is little over the top but I feel like there is too many days In the year to be wearing the same tops.
Jeans(20)- $200- Need- My jeans aren't too expensive, I shop at places like thrift stores for cute cut up jeans etc. not expensive mall places.
Shoes(25)- $900-$1,000- Want/Need- I am not a shoe fan but the Weather is very tricky and sometimes certain shoes only fit certain weather, so options are needed.
Undergarment(40+)- $150- Need- I feel like underwear, bras, and things of that sort are all apart of maintaining yourself. You can never have too many or too much!
Hoodies(25)-($200)-Want- Hoodies for some reason aren't cheap, I could just be satisfied with one black hoodie but Nahhh... I need want OPTIONS with my sneakers.
Items in my dorm:
Macbook air 13-inch(1)-($400)- Need- Before coming to college I had no laptop so as a trunk party gift I got my first laptop! That I now use on a daily. Very beneficial if you ask me.
Walmart Lamp(1)-($15)- Need- Having roommates can be pretty annoying because you guys are all up at different hours etc. so I need a personal lamp to stay out of the way.
Paintings(3)- Want- As I am away from home I still want to feel the feelings of my room so My paintings are my choice.
BedSet(1)- Need- My mattress came with nothing so I had to make it at home for myself. I can’t sleep coverless.
Shower Caddy+Items(6)-$25-30-Need- Keeping up with your hygiene is a overall thing that you have to do as a human being and my shower caddy holds  all my essentials in a organized way. This includes deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, rags, soap..I have to stay clean
Iphone 8+(1)-$600?- Want/Need- I may not need the latest iPhone like I have, but I feel like every teenager does need an electronic device for safety. The latest? Maybe not, but I already have it sooo... I must own it. Even though I could have a way cheaper Android like my Mother.
Refrigerator(1) $125- Need- Sometimes I do wonder what would my dorm life be like without a fridge but I think I could honestly do it.. However I now keep all my food eatable in there such as my milk for cereal incase I miss days at the Refac.
Hair stuff
Blue wig(1)- $400- Want-I want to look different so I felt the need to get a blue wig that I loveeeee.
Colorful wig(1)-$500- Want- This wig is pretty old, Started as blonde hair and transformed itself however I just wanted to be stylish so now its colorful and I like it.
Got2B Glued-$4.96- Need- This is the cheapest thing I have ever bought to lay my wigs. I use this for emergencies
Brushed/Combs(5+) $20-Need- I have hair like any other girl that must stay groomed and a main part of grooming yourself is brushing your hair sooo.. yup.
Tumblr media
To be honest doing this field work was actually interesting. I thought I was an expensive person and to me I am not. It was hard to dissect my needs from my wants because some things I felt I needed is probably just and item I wanted.. Vice Versa. Some things may look expensive on my list but regardless of what it is I use on a daily! I love my items. I think I do a pretty good job... I could have some AirPods like everyone else.. but I don't. I don't have to many items on my list that just sit around.. I literally use everything in my dorm lol. If I buy it, Im going to use it!

Fieldwork Assignment #1
Tumblr media
What is this?
This is the doorknob to my Dorm room. This object was made in a warehouse, depending on the company. The university shipped it in from a particular company along with the door. This object has been very impactful to everyone, almost every place you visit has doorknobs on every door.
History
Door knobs have been around for centuries. Before door knobs locks and keys were used, however they were way too expensive. instead of a door handle or door knob, they would make a small hole in the door and insert a leather thong or piece of string or cord and loop it around the bar.
Door knobs were first manufactured around the mid 19th century with its most common, ball-shaped form. They can be made out of materials such as glass, wood, ceramic, plastic, etc. With glass using the most rare and faster manufacturing method.
Where was my item made or manufactured?
My item can particularly be made in a warehouse or even by a locksmith. Due to todays modern day technology many workers within factors have the processing materials and tools at the touch of an machine.
Making and manufacturing life?
Our door knobs are more than likely always metal. Always made with the most common type brass. Any raw material must meet the standards of the American Society of Testing and Materials for each specific process. These door knobs go through skilled artisans who process the transformation of this raw brass using their time-tested technique, Heat forging.
Impact on my life?
I literally see a doorknob where I go. Without doorknobs I don't think accesabilty into rooms and any environment would be as safe and secure as it is now. With doorknobs I can lock whichever room I am in or even get a warning by the way it turns as someone tries to come through the door, compared to if doors didn't have door knobs things would just slide. No protection or even heads up. Door knobs are very important within my day to day life.

Tumblr media
Globally, migration has been a huge factor over the years. Migration can be caused by the need to work for a higher outcome or even flee violence/conflicts. In this picture you can see the perfect example of how much of an increase migration has been worldwide, not to mention It has even tripled since the 1970s level.

Uneven Development
Tumblr media
I am from a place called Philly. Just like any other city we have our good and bad sections, which definitely represents uneven development. One section of our City, known as North Philly has the most inadequacy regarding houses. They tend to look more ran down or vacant compared to the rest of the city.
This is a perfect example of uneven development because if you visit our City as a tourist or just a person not familiar to the Philadelphia area you will see the difference. Compared to 15th st. (Downtown), Which receives endless construction, new buildings, better sidewalks 24/7, North Philly is a terrible look. Theres rarely any construction until something major happens on a block.

Flexible Accumulation
Tumblr media
McDonald’s, one of Americas #1 fast food restaurants is a perfect example of flexible accumulation. McDonald’s is known worldwide for its booming industry. In spring of 2018 CEO Steve Easterbrook came up with the plan to relocate McDonald’s headquarters all the way to Chicago. In this strategy McDonalds shares will gain 1.27%, which was exactly the motive.
Although McDonald’s is pretty well known, In today’s time the more modern your company is the more profit you will gain. Sourcing theirselves out to Chicago will attract younger employees leading to better energy and more connections with younger generations. Business will start booming and profit with definitely be larger.

Time Space Compression
Tumblr media
All over the world music is highly known. Whether it’s playing off of a tv, radio, or even a computer. Over the years music has compressed itself to being found on simple technology devices, which are most likely our cellular devices. Just to hear a song most of the population will go to youtube, soundcloud, or other known sources for downloading music.  It is very rare to see individuals playing music on the streets or broadcasting their music publicly themselves in todays society.
This is an example of time space compression because discovering music has become less time consuming and very accessible over time. Music started on big floppy discs and has now evolved. Technology has advanced in numerous ways and still continues to this day. The world has went from playing music on the streets to having music at the click of a button on a device.
