"Because there was nothing you needed from me. That is usually why others seem to desire my presence. Is that not why you are usually called upon?"

"You... Missed me? I didn't realize my absence had been that impactful. I suppose I assumed I was not needed nor wanted for anything."

She says with a small shrug, but her eyes are downcast.

[[OOC post to say I'm bored and not really sure how to get Athena involved. I get anxiety about sending asks out of the blue and Athena tends to isolate herself because she still thinks she doesn't need friends.

So anyways, my asks are always open and I would love to get involved with any other characters. Happy to accept DMs and discuss potential plans and whatnot as well.

Athena picks her head up and blinks several times. The world refuses to reveal its secrets and explain what happened. She is half tempted to lie back down but she can't let herself.

Athena fought against him for a moment before all at once letting go of the spear, hoping to make him over-correct. Then she bashed her shield forwards to get in the way of the sword as she dove at him with her talons instead, going for his neck in a reckless bid to end the battle quickly.

A curious trill echoed through the room as Dionysus approached Athena, he nudged her once and twice before giving a gentle shove

He trilled again and again, trying to wake her

The hammock swayed at the nudging and it took a few long moments for the goddess to stir. She slowly folded her wings and lifted her head, hair coming out of its perfect braids to create a messy crown.

She looked up and blinked, taking a moment to realize what had woken her. And that she had been asleep in the first place.

"Brother?"

"I would assume he is on his throne on Olympus, but I have not been back there in... some time. Hermes would likely be the better one to ask, as he travels frequently and may be able to deliver a message of your desire to meet. I can't promise it will go over well though."

Athena raised her shield to block but the sword glanced off the top edge and managed to slash a sizable wound in her upper arm. Her lips curled in a snarl and she twisted her spear, trying to drive the other god back away from her with the end still sunk into the meat of his wing.

A curious trill echoed through the room as Dionysus approached Athena, he nudged her once and twice before giving a gentle shove

He trilled again and again, trying to wake her

Athena saw the movement and made her choice, spear sliding past his reach to sink into one of the wings before he could get airborne. She braced herself with her shield, as her extended reach left more open than she would like.

"Leave him alone. And I won't have to kill you." She threatened, though she wasn't sure she had the strength to follow through on the threat.

Athena took one more moment to assess, then dove forwards, unwilling to give her opponent the time to strategize. They clashed with the ringing sound of metal echoing across the void of this place.

This brother, it was inside the other god. She could feel its presence. They shared the body, then. That wouldn't make this easy.

Athena shifted her hand gently up the other god's neck to nestle in his curly hair.

"I am sorry, this probably won't be pleasant."

That was all the warning she gave before her fingers tightened and she reached out with what she could summon of her power, diving into Quick Thought and pulling that... thing... with her.

The world shifted into a dark scene, a starry night sky with a cracked hourglass standing sternly in the background, sand spilling out to join the stars until it was impossible to tell one from the other. Athena stood there in her half-transformed form, spear and shield in hand and raised defensively as she took her first look at her opponent.
