No you don’t understand. Analyzing every second of supernatural on this god forsaken website has reopened the English lover in me. It re-amplified my critical thinking and comprehension. It makes me dig deeper into every single piece of media I’m ingesting.

Like I was watching legally blonde the other day and instead of seeing it through the typical childhood nostalgia lens I found myself looking deeper into Elle’s character. How her “dumb blonde” exterior most likely grew from a childhood of never being taken seriously. Play into it, you’ll get what you need and what you’ve been taught to want all your life. And as the movie goes on you see this dumb blonde mask slip and more of her true self poke through and she really finds herself beyond all the expectations put upon her. She nearly aces the LSATs, which is incredibly hard to do. She’s beyond smart, but no one expected that of her so she never needed to use her smarts like that.

She’s driven and caring and kind and girly and smart and loves pink and none of these things are mutually exclusive. I knew there was more to this movie than “Barbie goes to Harvard law” but now that the tumblr worms have entered my brain I’m enjoying a movie I’ve seen countless times even more again. Like damn, yall really did that, ok.

To me this is one of the most powerful lines of the series yet.

The world is crumbling around them, everything they feared has come to pass. Worse, some of it was by their own doing.

And Dean crashes in at the last minute, and he is, as Ruby gleefully tells him, too late.

And he could not give less of a damn. Because he’s going to do this his way, and dammit, if he and Sammy are still alive then no, actually, you can shove your “too late” right up your ass.

So what if the universe is on fire? So what if ‘the end is nigh’? So what if the cards have been stacked against them since the very beginning, so what if all the dominoes have finally alll come crashing down?? So what if everything about this absolute skip fire of a situation is screaming at him, “You’re too late”??? He’s still kicking, isn’t he? And Sammy seems okay, bar the minor demon blood addiction.

So they’re here. Both of them. Together. Alive, and mostly whole. So what if they’re too late?

Flirting with the idea of developing a fic idea I had where Dean freaks out after Cas is bought back (post s15) and flees to Jody's under the guise of fixing her roof or her fence or something and just keeps finding things to fix instead of going back to the bunker, and in that time he actually learns how to unwind and set aside his soldier mentality for the first time ever, opens up to Jody a little about not knowing how to accept someone's love without thinking it will kill them, and he also begins to grow out his hair and beard because again, he's no longer a soldier he doesn't need the utilitarian cut anymore, and when Cas finally gets fed up enough to chase him down and confront him he bursts into Jody's house ready to fight it out but is blindsided by Dean Winchester, love of his life, with floppy hair, a beard, some fuckass Hawaiian shirt, bickering in the kitchen with Claire as he cooks dinner or something and the steam is taken out of him so fast because it's the softest and most relaxed he's ever seen Dean that he just kind of walks up and puts his hands in his hair and stares at him while Dean has that emotional in love with my best friend crisis he was avoiding for months in like fifteen seconds flat

Sometimes I think about Dean getting so drunk, he goes up to Cas and says

"I'm gonna find ya. Always gonna find ya buddy" and it sounds sweet until he grabs Cas and pins him to a wall all "And that's a threat. You think you can spout your feelings at me and then fuck off into the sunset alone? Nah, this is forever. Your ass is mine. I hunted you through purgatory, I will hunt you through the whole fucking galaxy. I will super glue your grace to my soul."

Then he promptly passes out and forgets it all happened while Cas spends weeks thinking about that

Dean, after Cas and Crowley leave: I am so dead

Sam: What do you mean?

Dean: Didnt you hear how he said my name? He might as well have spit on my face

Sam: I am sure you are exaggerating
