Disgusting. Remove trump. Now. By any means necessary. This orange man child is killing people in defense of a genocide.
We should not sit by doing nothing. Get angry. Get violent. Peaceful protests have never changed fucking anything. Destroy property, flip cars, make bridges impossible to pass. Ruin our economy until we cannot afford the bombs we send to kill children

the point was she wanted to get back to may 24th at 7:30 am cause she had a shift. she had a shift that she needed to get to cause she was a nurse and god knows hospitals don't function without them. she had a shitty flat with annoying roommates, and she drank expired milk for dinner.
she wanted to go back to that, not cause it was extraordinary, but because it was hers. she had carved a life for herself where she could help other people and it was enough for her.
she didn't need the stars, she didn't need some far away galaxy to tell her what she'd always been. and she definitely didn't need another doctor to try and show her what she's known all along.
she wasn't someone's daughter, she wasn't someone's mother. she didn't have to go back she had to be something for someone else, she wanted to go back because she wanted to be something for herself.
the point was... she wanted to get back to may 24th at 7:30 am cause she had a shift. how could you ruin that for her so completely?

Vent:
So in December I was fired from my job of a year and a half for accidentally underpaying for a product by a $1.50. first time it ever happened.
It happened because we were told religiously by our manager that we were not to pay full price for anything, and should only pay a little more than what the store buys it for. I thought we were paying $5. I paid $5 with my card and tossed a few coins I had in my pocket in the drawer. Since the product was $11, we usually raised prices by 110%. Meaning, $5 would be the base amount. I was wrong, it was 6.50 each. They took the $5 paid with card, and wrote down that I stole $1.50 via internal theft and that was grounds for my immediate termination.
I'd not made mistakes before.
What kills me is that I have spent so much money at this place, overpaying on items my manager was telling me not to and buying new products with my own money in order to sample them and give customers feedback.
They did not fire me because of a dollar and 50 cents, or even out of any concern of me stealing. They fired me because I wasn't racist, didn't laugh at the owners racism or bigoted jokes (always aimed at people he considered lesser-than) and even argued with some of the shit he said, such as trans people being evil (I'm closeted enby), or homeless people being the stain of society. (We served homeless people, about 50% of our clientele).
The owner is an evil, horribly racist man who has been given EVERYTHING he has by his family, but he's delusional and has convinced himself he's better than everyone else because he "worked hard" to get where he is. Yeah, sunny, how did you work hard, huh? By watching others do the work? Must be real hard to hire people to take care of all of the office duties including inventory and payment management, while underpaying them and taking credit for every single one of their successes.
This evil man noticed that his manager was hiring homeless people. She would give them a chance, and 5/6 times it worked out very well. The new employee got out of their situation, into a home, and Sunny comes by and takes credit for it. I'm not joking. One of our arguments was about "success."
He claimed success was having a lot of money. Nothing else. He laughed when I said I think success is personal and subjective. In the same conversation he said that HE got people out of homelessness, that HE hired these people and got them into homes. I wanted to slap this delusional freak until he went crying back to his momma.
This conversation upset me so much because I was actively trying to walk away from him and he FOLLOWED me around the store, even outside of the store. I made it very clear that I was done with the conversation, saying that I don't think these conversations are appropriate for work. (Let alone between a boss and his low wage employee)
This got to my manager because I had complained to the assistant manager. I didn't intend for it to become a thing but they saved video from the security cameras, and when reviewing it my manager was PISSED. she was fucking fuming and went to the co owner to tell him that Sunny should never come to this store like that and spend any sort of time harassing their employees.
I got fired a month later. By sunny. Who came in on a week night after close to review the security cameras to find a reason to fire me. I have no clue if he'd been doing this for longer and only just finally found a reason.
Oh, I also got in trouble for calling them out for breaking employment law. I had a lawyer double check what I was saying and forwarded it to my manager because I was concerned for the company. Jokes on me I should've fucking sued

I honestly don’t understand why there aren’t more people who, when given the platform to discuss minimum wage, don’t simply distill it to the simplest of facts:
A forty hour work week is considered full time.
It’s considered as such because it takes up the amount of time we as a society have agreed should be considered the maximum work schedule required of an employee. (this, of course, does not always bear out practically, but just follow me here)
A person working the maximum amount of time required should earn enough for that labor to be able to survive. Phrased this way, I doubt even most conservatives could effectively argue against it, and out of the mouth of someone verbally deft enough to dance around the pathos-based jabs conservative pundits like to use to avoid actually debating, it could actually get opps thinking.
Therefore, if an employee is being paid less than [number of dollars needed for the post-tax total to pay for the basic necessities in a given area divided by forty] per hour, they are being ripped off and essentially having their labor, productivity, and profit generation value stolen by their employer.
Wages are a business expense, and if a company cannot afford to pay for its labor, it is by definition a failing business. A company stealing labor to stay afloat (without even touching those that do so simply to increase profit margins and/or management/executive pay/bonuses) is no more ethical than a failing construction company breaking into a lumber yard and stealing wood.
Our goal as a society should be to protect each other, especially those that most need protection, not to subsidize failing businesses whose owners could quite well subsidize them on their own.
