THIS. I’ve thought about this (bc I’m obsessed) and I’ve come to a few conclusions about it. First of all, yes, he probably doesn’t get consistent meals while being out there in the wilderness. But also, this is normal to him. Think about it. When he was a kid he was a homeless orphan, he literally stole to survive. He is definitely used to not having food or a place to sleep. I assume when he became a villain he was like “oh, I’m homeless again. Man…” but didn’t think about it much beyond that because again it is his status quo pretty much. And he probably believes that’s okay because of his self esteem issues. Bc when he was living in the castle he probably only saw that as a temporary thing. Like “they’ll get bored of me eventually, and when that happens everything will be back to how it was before.” And in the end, that kinda did happen.

Uh anyway tldr Jestro is traumatized.

Rewatched Nexo Knights (careful, you’ll get obsessed over it) and I’m wondering to myself… Does Jestro eat? I mean, he seems to eat at villages before attacking them, but what about between that? What about his first night out there? Did he just eat nothing?

I’m sure Jestro has gotten pretty damn skinny under those clothes. I keep seeing General Magmar picking him up and being like “Hold up, I’m no doctor, but adult humans aren’t this light. Or skinny. Is that your rib cage I feel? Why is it so close to the surface of your flesh??”

Hi yes it is cool and I think why we stopped it bc it's a lot of work. I'd know bc I'm making one for me and it's taking....ummmmm a long time- I've been working on and off since September and hoo boy it's taking forever. But it'll be really cool when it's done I swear

Okay so I am actually geniuely trying to make a fanfic site for myself and after trying to research how to do so and found out on reddit of all places that personal fanfic websites were legit a thing back in the early days of the internet and now I'm sitting here furious because the entire idea of making your own fanfic sites for your own fics is actually so cool!!! Like what the hell happened why did we stop doing this?!?!

Bro the distribution of dreamzzz main character mini figs is straight ass. I LOVE the season 3 outfits so far genuinely fire but uh I'm not gonna have the money to buy basically a set per character I want. And I bet that's the same for a lot of people my age or younger. Or ppl who just aren't in a great financial situation (which is a lot of us rnnnnnnn)

I feel like the writers just aren't ready to talk about that yet. Season 2 was about Zoey and her dad mostly. And never witch and lunia. There'll probably be a season that's about Mateo discovering his powers eventually.

Mateo not really using his Dreamkeeper ablities (unless he has and I haven't been paying attention to it please correct me if im wrong) and the show barely going over it makes me wanna crash out very badly.

I watched dreamzzz season two today and ik it's 3AM as I post this but I'm still thinking about how beast master dreamzzz is voiced by giles panton who also did beast master nexo knights this has to be intentional and it's hilarious

It physically pains me that not everyone in the nexo knights community has seen knights of the realm. It literally has such important character backstory in it like you NEED to know this stuff to get the full picture of the knights and their past and their relationship now.

For example: it confirms that at the academy Jestro used to be a knight and was on the team with the rest of the main knights. That is, until Lance bullied him SO HARD THAT HE RAN OFF CRYING AND LEFT THE TEAM. OMG.

And less important but one scene in the present day also implies that nexo powers can influence people’s emotions which I find slightly horrifying.

Shame on Lego for not making these episodes accessible in the modern day in any way. Like they’re not on the dvds and the app is down and you can’t see them anymore even through archives of the app (at least, I haven’t figured out how.) The only way you can see them is through shitty ipad recordings done by literal kids on youtube or on the internet archive but neither of those archives have quality audio which sucks so bad

Actually what you’re saying about both of them is some stuff I agree with even tho I don’t ship them. It applies whether it’s romantic or platonic imo. But that got me thinking about how NONE of the knights actually wanted to be knights. Like okay hear me out.

Clay became a knight to prove his worth

Macy became a knight to prove herself to her parents

Lance was forced to become a knight by his parents

Aaron was sent to the academy because his parents didn’t wanna deal with him anymore

Axl……okay axl’s canon backstory is kinda ass so I’m rewriting it for my fics and the backstory I’m going with is that he became a knight to provide for his family bc otherwise they would literally die. I feel like it makes sense

And as a kid Jestro went to the academy because he had nowhere else to go really. But now (in my fics) Jestro is trying to become a knight to make up for everything he did as a villain

In conclusion they’re all fucked up people they all got issues and I want to make a fic about each one of them honestly. I really really want to but I have no idea how but also I will figure it out because it’s nexo knights

“Who is he trying to prove wrong?” is a great question! It’s actually one of the things I’m trying to figure out right now bc I want to write a fanfic focusing on Clay’s character but I need to figure out what the motive for his actions is. We don’t see much of his past so it really could be any of the things you mentioned, or something else entirely. I feel most strongly towards the idea that he doesn’t care for himself and is instead focused on others/what others think of him. Because he’s an orphan, it would make sense for him to not value himself— I mean he clearly didn’t have parents who valued him. And also society looks down on those who are poor. I imagine his peers at the academy probably didn’t like him much (or just didn’t care about him.) So the idea that he views himself as inherently unworthy makes sense. He needs to be a productive member of society to be worth something. Which is why he works so much. Every second he isn’t generating worth is a second wasted. A second spent proving how worthless he is. And this all ties into the stuff I said in the tags about the knights code— he views the code as the model he has to aspire to. Because being a knight is what makes him worth something- so obviously he wants to be the very best knight he could possibly be, and the code is the literal handbook on how to do that. I believe he has discarded parts of his own identity to become the perfect knight. Parts of himself that he believed were useless to others. Like hobbies, for example. Clay does not have hobbies. Only knight things. The other knights all have hobbies- but clay doesn’t. That’s just a small example though, and that’s because I also think he’s been doing this for so long that parts of himself are just….fully gone. So gone that we don’t even know what they are because clay himself doesn’t remember a time where he was anything but Clay Moorington - knight of the realm.

So yeah my fic was going to be about him realizing he has no identity of his own left and that he is slowly destroying himself by trying to live up to the unrealistic expectations he’s placed on himself because he views himself so lowly. I have no idea how to incorporate that into a plot though and it’s driving me insane because like the ideas are there I have that character premise and I have a villain for it too like I have all the pieces but I just can’t fit the puzzle together AGH.
