Carmy’s face twisted in confusion. “You two know each other?” “Yeah, uh, we—we—“ “We were in school together. Took a marketing class together,” Natalie forced out. It was the truth, at least to an extent. They had been in that marketing class together, all that time ago, even if that time felt like a blip in Natalie’s life. A life altering blip, but a blip all the same.
