i will now be doing a ninjago dr s3 part2 rant bc what did i just watch.

spoilers if u didn’t watch it yet :D

these are definitely not going to be in order by the way.

first of all, Zane and Pix are on their honeymoon. That’s amazing. The writers really said “those two had enough development, time to send them off!!!” and by that I mean the singular episode where Zane and Pixal reunite.

also did I miss something or are we all just going to collectively ignore that Zane’s big mech thing from part 1 disappeared and he has his normal body back ???? when did this happen ?????

but anyways they said they’ll “keep in contact” so I’m going to pray really really hard that them and Cole get the bigger spotlight they deserve next season since Cole is still in Ninjago.

second of all, egalt is DEAD??? I mean it was kinda implied he would bc of the wasting sickness

but STILL that was so sudden and the mood was completely different from when WyFy was driving the airship so… very unexpected ☹️

and are he and Rontu like.. lovers and I didn’t catch it at all or is the “my love” nickname before he died just a nickname without a meaning like that

next, i absolutely adored the sora-ras dynamic. i love sora so much. she’s so funny. i love her. she messed with that cat for the sillies and i live for it.

JAY WAS THE BEST IN THIS SEASON im sorry to the others but he was literally gold. like he was so funny and silly during the administration/land of lee eps. and THANKYOU FOR LETTING HIM HAVE A DEFINITIVE REASON FOR NOT TRUSTING PEOPLE… it makes a lot more sense now.

AND HE CAME BACK FOR NYAAAAA AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH HE LOVES HER TRUST ????

oh and that dance scene from land of lee. don’t get me started. ILOVETHEMSOBADHAGDJWKAKSK THEYVE ALWAYS BEEN GOOD AT DANCING TGT AND THEY STILL GOT IT !!! im so normal about jaya.

ok but the all of the episodes taking place in the land of lee was a fever dream. literally. it was weird and silly and clearly unsettling at the same time, esp once lee is redoing the house of the guy who was suspicious abt him.

i started shrieking when arin’s parents came in by the way. i love how they didn’t mention anything about how jaya were literally beating lee up. that was so funny.

and it was kinda weird and also super funny how lee was defeated. by sora. who literally just walked in and decided to save him and give him a pep talk. and we get his whole backstory.

tbh his backstory was pretty understandable.

it was nice and all (AND I LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN ALL THE LEES JUST STOPPED ATTACKING AND STARTED SMILING, I MIGHT BE A LITTLE STRANGE) but was useless since the draconians ? dragonians ? came in and lee just “died” instantly in the end.

casket of bones was definitely my favorite scene. THE REALIZATION I HAD WHEN RAS WAS REVEALING THAT HE KEPT SORA TO SACRIFICE HEEERRRRR????? ohmygod ras. you evil bich. but also you mastermind. who wrote him they deserve an award.

I SCREAMED.

AND ARIIINNN finally WOKE UP and saw the price of both getting his parents back and how bad ras actually was. took you long enough my boy.

the code was pretty funny tho.

ok here’s the part that had me the most frustrated. cole. specifically when they were in imperium.

i am definitely going to get fried for this part of the rant.

i hate how they did cole. not just in this season or part but like. the entirety of dragons rising.

it’s not just that he wasn’t present at all for basically the whole thing. actually it kinda is.

can i know WHY he’s prioritizing the finders over the ninja??? yes, the ninja can take care of themselves, but isn’t this too overboard? HE’S THEORETICALLY BEEN AWAY FROM THE NINJA FOR LIKE 6 YEARS AND HE STILL CONTINUES TO TREAT THE FINDERS MORE LIKE HIS FAMILY THAN THE NINJA.

guys, the ninja were like. the only people they were around for the several years that masters of spinjitzu took place in. i saw someone else saying this but they were basically isolated from society because of how isolated the monastery is. which meant they only had each other. for years.

I KNOWWW that the finders are important to him. and it definitely fits his character to have another family, like group from master of the mountain (the upply I think). AND OBVIOUSLY ITS OKAY FOR HIM TO CARE ABOUT ANOTHER GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT SAVED HIM FROM LONELINESS DURING SAID 6+ YEARS OF THE MERGE BC THEYRE THE ONLY PEOPLE HES BEEN WITH FOR THAT PERIOD.

but literally what happened in that time period. do you not miss being with the ninja like at all.

and why is cole being reckless impulsive dumbass now. GOING AFTER NOKT ALONE ISNT THE ONLY WAY TO SAVE YOUR FOUND FAMILY.

ok basically what I’m saying is that it’s okay that he loves and cares about the finders too, but does he seriously care about them more than the ninja. was he like done with their shit once even jay lost his memories. hello.

i kinda need someone else’s opinion on this because i personally just didn’t understand that scene at all. like if there’s a valid reason for him suddenly being reckless then yeah I’ll accept that writing but I’m so lost rn.

okok now about thunderfang and the forbidden five.

personally I didn’t mind THAT MUCH compared to other people when they said the f5 didn’t get enough focus or personality. but i get where they’re coming from.

imo i am also a bit mad but i think it would’ve been okay if they had more focus in the previous season, THEN decided to have them be hollow and nonchalant ahhs.

but since they were overshadowed by thunderfang in BOTH parts after saying how powerful and destructive they are, it was still kinda disappointing.

as for thunderfang… yeah. let’s. not. he’s kinda… a plain old villain imo. he’s a big enough threat but he doesn’t really have. a fun to watch personality. especially compared to ras.

lastly… the ending.

oh my first spinjitzu master. it was gold. like. i got so hyped and giddy when smth w their powers went wrong and they got a headache and they all rushed to the portal gate shouting “ninjago!!”

AND THEN THEY GOT SEPARATED TO A DIFFERENT REALM. OH MY GOD. i was so shocked like genuinely that was probably one of the best parts. the switchup i had when i saw none of them in ninjago. ohmygod.
