Well maybe He is answering your prayers, in ways you don't realize. There's a good quote from a movie that goes, "If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If a man prays for courage, does God snap His fingers and makes him brave, or does He give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for their family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?" So... when you pray to God for help, are you waiting for Him to just hand you the answers, while the whole time He is putting you in situations where you can help yourself?

Matt hadn’t meant to crawl on top of him. That part just… happened. Foggy was lying on his couch in nothing but his underwear and socks, limbs sprawled like a crime scene photo, his torso dappled with bruises and his lower lip split. He looked like he lost a bar fight with a lamppost—but apparently won. “I’m fine,” he kept saying, waving Matt off with a bruised hand, “It’s just a couple bruises.” Matt did not wave back. “You got mugged,” Matt said, hovering closer, voice sharp with leftover fear. “You got jumped in the middle of the night and I wasn't - I didn't-” “I handled it,” Foggy replied, even as Matt’s hands skimmed over his ribs, checking the damage. “You’re being dramatic.” “You don’t get to play this off like it’s nothing,” Matt muttered, slowly inching up the couch. “You could’ve gotten seriously hurt. Or worse. And I—I wasn’t there.” “Matt,” Foggy started, but Matt was already half on top of him now, arms braced on either side, brow furrowed like he was listening for broken bones beneath the skin. And then he stayed there. He didn’t move. “...You scared the hell out of me,” Matt breathed into Foggy’s chest. Foggy went still. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The only sound was the low hum of the fridge in the kitchen, and the way Matt exhaled, slow and shaky, like Foggy had just come back from the dead. Matt’s body was warm, heavy, comforting in a way Foggy wasn’t prepared for. “...I’m okay,” Foggy mumbled. “Really.” Matt didn’t answer. He just slowly shifted upward—hands brushing Foggy’s sides, knee tucked between Foggy’s legs—and gently cupped his face. Foggy’s breath hitched. He was sure by now half of Hell's Kitchen was able to hear his pounding heart. “I’m just…” Matt said softly. “Glad you’re safe.” And then—without hesitation—he leaned down and kissed Foggy’s cheek. It wasn’t dramatic. It wasn’t even that long. Just a soft press of lips, and Matt lingered there for half a second too long. When he pulled back, Foggy was blinking up at him like someone had unplugged his brain. Matt’s face was unreadable. Foggy’s heart was not.
